Backstory:
When Nuri was a baby, an epidemic of pox spread through Ordellia in Magnimar where her family lived. The temples were overwhelmed, and the local healer offered little hope the infant would survive. Nuri's mother took her to one of the monuments and prayed to the empyreal lords for her child's life. Following this, Nuri suddenly took a turn for the better and soon was completely well again, but a scar was left behind on the child's forearm which bore a striking resemblance to the holy symbol of Soralyon, the empyreal lord of monuments.

Nuri's family became devout followers of the Mystery Cults after their prayer was answered, and Nuri herself was regarded as a child of promise by the leaders of the cults, thanks to the miracle of her healing and the mark left on her arm. As she grew, she was accepted into the ranks of the clergy serving the Empyreal Lords, with a particular focus to maintaining and protecting the monuments believed to be their holy shrines.
