Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
When everybody sets out again, Nummil walks with them. He feels a little bit responsible for their safety but also finds comfort in the protection they offer him with their swords and magic. The vicious attacks of the furballs earlier do we know what they are? have Nummil on the edge and he tries to pay attention to their surroundings as much as possible. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

With an estranged look Nummil watched Vero for a second before shaking his head in confusion. "Well, let's move on in case there's more of them." Nummil looked at the others, not actually moving himself until someone else does too. He doesn't want to risk another nearly fatal clawing to the face.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Nummil looks in shock at the remains of the dead bear. He'd read a lot about death and decay but all those words didn't really prepare him for reality. "We can't be sure they killed it but it wouldn't surprise me if those critters actually took down a bear by themselves..." Nummil takes a step backward and looks around to make sure there aren't any other creatures lurking nearby. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Nummil watches the creatures intently before moving to the bushes to see what they were doing there. Edit: I'm not sure the second roll is correct. I forgot to put a d in the 1d20, I added in it later. In case you need a new one:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

and a good one at that. Casting CLW and ending up with 2 cured hitpoints is just plain silly. Nummil wasn't quite sure what had happened but all of a sudden it felt as if his skins was only hanging on to the rest of his body by tiny threads of uncut tissue. And then.. a sudden surge of warmth ran from his shoulder and the dreadful pain was only a strange memory. With a nod he thanked Vaashti. He took a step back from the creatures and started to cast the spell that would have to put these furballs on the ground. Cast Colour Spray, aiming to get all three furballs in the cone and of course not including Vaashti.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Failing to constrain his curiosity, Nummil walks towards the feeding creature. What are you? he thinks as he slowly goes over the correct wording of a spell what will hopefully stop any sudden assault by the black fur ball. Nummil will walk a bit closer towards the creature but he won't get too close before realising he might need some backup, let's say 30ft or so. If the creature attacks he'll cast Colour Spray

Nummil was glad the others had seen things move in the forest too. Now the question remained what it was that causes the movement. Are it the goblins Noya mentioned? Or perhaps it's the children they're looking for? Or maybe it's why they've found silver daggers... "YOU CAN STOP HIDING NOW!" Nummil shouts at the forest.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Sorry folks! Just started a new assignment at work but I'll pay attention now. The flash of movement in the woods immediately had Nummil on the edge.
Nummil stops in his tracks and stares at what he saw trying to figure out if it's something he should actually be afraid of. Or was he seeing ghosts? Not literally of course. Right? Quickly he checked to see if Maqli was still around before watching the woods again. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

As they follow the tracks Nummil slowly recollects what he has read about Kobolds. "Did you know that Kobolds are infamous for using a lot of traps to defend their homes? They're a bunch of devious little critters so we better be a bit careful where we walk." The thought of traps had Nummil slow down a bit as if he expected to be a trap right in his path. He looked around and tilted his head a bit as he wondered what kind of traps the kobolds would build. Take 10 on Perception: 10+4=14, then moving on again. "What's even more interesting though is the kobold's fascination with dragons. Yes that's right, they revere dragons. But we haven't seen any dragon prints have we now?" Nummil tells the group with a big grin on his face.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
"Kobolds? Well they're a bunch of nasty creatures. But they're not lycanthropes as far as I know. But I'm not sure the kids are better off." Nummil quickly joins Maqli and the rest, hoping that they won't have too much trouble following the trail. While he lets the others track the kobolds, Nummil tries to think of what he knows about kobolds, he hasn't read a lot about them but he remembers them being mentioned in several books on dragons and draconic magic. "Speechless eh?". Nummil left hand is still holding on to a black wand you've all seen him wave about. It looked rather ugly for a wand but Nummil didn't mind. It had helped him cast his first spell and still helped him do so today. Too bad it wouldn't help him think of what to do now.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
"Wolfsbane?" Nummil stands still for a second and watches Vero put away a silver dagger. "Wolfsbane and silver daggers... I've read about those two things in a book once. Lycanthropes...." The sylph wavers slightly. Things were getting serious way too fast now. He almost wished he was back with his books. Turning back now wasn't an option though. Those poor children.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Sorry! I've been checking daily too but must have forgotten to post! Nummil approaches the table and curiously looks at the silver daggers. "Mmm how curious... silver daggers. Those aren't very common are they?" Knowledge(arcana?): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 Nummil places the daggers back on the table and takes a look at the bundle of herbs. "And what's this? Some rotten herbs? My brain's trying to tell me something... but what...?"
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
"Fire WHAT? I'm not an arson! Fire scares me a bit actually... Anyway, there isn't much fire in my books." Nummil feels bad for not being able to live up to the expectations of the others, especially Maqli. The breeze that surrounds Nummil starts to pick up speed and seems to just randomly relieve tiny gusts of wind. "Get back up here! I'll try to distract them" Nummil takes a small bit of fleece from one of his pouches and makes a strange gesture with his other hand. You see his lips move and hear him say a few words you don't understand. Next to the swarm of spiders you see another swarm appear, a swarm of fat flies that to a spider should seem like a fantastic meal. The flies start to appear on the body and next to it on the ground. "Go! Climb the stairs!" Nummil shouts at his companions. Cast Silent Image (DC16?), making 4 10ft cubes to appear to be filled with fat flies, ready to be devoured by any hungry spider. :D

Caught off-guard by the scene in the cellar, Nummil barely avoids throwing up. He swallows his meal again before taking a look again. "Foul indeed..." he whispers as the winds that normally surround him seem to have disappeared except from a few whisps of air that play with the strains of hair escaping from his hat. With a quick gesture and a soft word Nummil scans the area to see if the cellar has been used for anything else than plain torture. OOC: Also casting Detect Magic, adding Spellcraft/Knowledge rolls incase Spellcraft: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 Knowledge(arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Knowledge(dungeoneering): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Grinning like a madman after Maqli's feeble kick, Nummil steps back and says "Oh no, go ahead. You can do better than that....". A tiny vortex of wind starts to twist around him, increasing its speed and picking up more and more ashes. "I can do better than that!" Suddenly Nummil is all serious, the winds around him calm down and ashes fall back to the ground. OOC: Take 10 on perception: 10+4=14

"I'll join you Maqli. If it eases your mind, I"ll stay a few steps behind instead of leading the search at the front." Nummil takes a few deep breaths, trying to calm his emotions. With all that ash lying around his personal winds weren't exactly a boon. He slowly follows Maqli and looks around for any clues. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

When the food for thoughts on both his research and the missing children seemed to have dulled his hunger on those subjects for a while, Nummil joined the chitchat with the others in the group. Nummil was used to being indoors a lot, it simply didn't work that well to study outside but he'd noticed that he liked being outdoors ever since he had set off with Maqli. Now he was walking alongside Vaashti and listened to her tell about herself. Nummil's windy aura swept away some of the leaves in front of the talking tiefling and the blueskinned mage. Nummil readjusted his brown head as he looked around and took in the surroundings. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
"Ah yes you're probably right but right now there's no man with a plot, as far as we know." Nummil walks on and ponders about about his planned research on the Darkwood. After a while though his thoughts abandon his research and focus on the missing children. Ah well, it seems priorities have been set.

"Horse meat... really?" Nummil said with a slight look of surprise. He had never really thought about the actual dangers of being out in the wilderness. There were plenty of creatures, monsters, that would go a long way to eat some horse or other pack animal. Livestock and even humanoids quite often ended up as breakfast, lunch or dinner in some regions. Nummil hadn't encountered any of those before, he'd read about them. "So.. any specific creatures that we should look out for?" Not wanting to create panic he kept his mouth shut about the combination of said creatures and some lost children. They'd better hurry.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Sorry! ! I checked the campaign everyday but it never mentioned new posts. I'll check this thread from now on. "Why shouldn't we bring horses miss?" Nummil asks Noya. Nummil has a wondering look on his face and the local winds seem to have decided to twirl around him a little bit more slowly than before. "It sounds like a long walk and I'm definitely not looking forward to it... then again.. I do wish to visit the Vale."
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Not very familiar with the mundane things in this world, Nummil is late to decipher what he had overheard but it seemed the others had a plausible explanation of the meaning of the words. "Yes miss, could you take us there?" Nummil adds after chuckling a bit at Vero's joke.
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Having followed Maqli, Nummil nervously starts to collect his belongings and pack them carefully. This of course takes a while, especially with the occasional quill flowing out of his reach. But only a few minutes after Maqli he joins the others with a slightly crooked smile. "Ha! I was fast, wasn't I?"
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
Nummil listens and watches with slight amazement at the two that are saying the same thing yet not in the same way. I can't remember if everyone knows everybody by name or not (and cba to check back). Also: I'll use ooc tags if that's how we do it here, I'm used to using spoilers but this is fine too.

Surprised by the quick workings of the Wake Up Juice, Nummil raises one eyebrow as he sits down and let Maqli come to her senses. "I wonder if you'll be ordering apple-juice the next time we're having drinks." Then Nummil remembers there seemed to be a serious matter at hands. "Excuse me miss, you mentioned missing children? There aren't many ways for a child to run to from here are there? Shouldn't be too hard to chase after them I'd say."
Male Sylph Air Wizard (Wind Listener) 1
"Maqli.. what are you doing?" Nummil at first does nothing but after a few moments stands up and moves next to her and see how bad she's doing. "Uh.. no this is a first I'm afraid. I wouldn't call a liability.. well in a library she is but elsewhere I appreciate her being by my side." Nummil looks around, grabs a mug of water and splashes it in Maqli's face. "Maqli, come on. You heard the lady, there's children missing. No time to mess around. MAQLI!"
