BRAWLER (DETAILED):
Class features Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Brawler’s Cunning (Ex)
Martial Flexibility (Ex)
The brawler can use this ability again before the duration expires in order to replace the previous combat feat with another choice. If a combat feat has a daily use limitation (such as Stunning Fist), any uses of that combat feat while using this ability count toward that feat’s daily limit. At 6th level, a brawler can use this ability to gain the benefit of two combat feats at the same time. She may select one feat as a swift action or two feats as a move action. She may use one of these feats to meet a prerequisite of the second feat; doing so means that she cannot replace a feat currently fulfilling another’s prerequisite without also replacing those feats that require it. Each individual feat selected counts toward her daily uses of this ability. At 10th level, a brawler can use this ability to gain the benefit of three combat feats at the same time. She may select one feat as a free action, two feats as a swift action, or three feats as a move action. She may use one of the feats to meet a prerequisite of the second and third feats, and use the second feat to meet a prerequisite of the third feat. Each individual feat selected counts toward her daily uses of this ability. At 12th level, a brawler can use this ability to gain the benefit of one combat feat as an immediate action or three combat feats as a swift action. Each individual feat selected counts toward her daily uses of this ability. At 20th level, a brawler can use this ability to gain the benefit of any number of combat feats as a swift action. Each feat selected counts toward her daily uses of this ability. Martial Training (Ex)
Unarmed Strike
Usually, a brawler’s unarmed strikes deal lethal damage, but she can choose to deal nonlethal damage instead with no penalty on her attack roll. She has the same choice to deal lethal or nonlethal damage while grappling. A brawler’s unarmed strike is treated as both a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that modify either manufactured weapons or natural weapons. A brawler also deals more damage with her unarmed strikes than others, as shown on Table: Brawler. The unarmed damage values listed on that table are for Medium brawlers. 1st – 3rd | 1d6

BACKGROUND:
Concept - Nora was raised in an orphanage in Magnimar among a mixture of other races, so she doesn't judge people by their race - She was lured away, then tortured and almost killed by her half brother when she was 12, leading to trust issues and feelings of shame and low self-worth - The resulting physical scar lead her to tattoos - She met a Gornak, a fellow half-orc, at the tavern she bouncered at and they had a son named Gavon. 3 years later, Gornak took Gavon and vanished. Decreased trust and self-worth. - The healing of the unknown psychological scar that covering and modifying caused her to love and own her own body, thus leading her to more body modification. Gain self-worth! - He mentor and tattoo artist, Kornun Ingot, inspired her to pursue body modification as a career. Gain trust and self-worth! - The bounty her brother set for her lead her to be attacked by angry patrons of the Bruised Knuckles, plus 2 professional bounty hunters (she doesn't know this though). Neutral event thanks to Shalelu. - Saved by Shalelu and joined the circus. - Gentle Strength: she isn't a violent person, never uses weapons, but her past has forced her to learn how to fight. - Few words: She doesn't mind talking to strangers, especially in familiar environments. Small talk she can do, but she isn't very good at it and prefers to listen and be supportive. She's more than happy to talk about most of her tattoos. Goals and Ambitions
Where the Sakura bloom The cherry blossom branch on Nora’s stomach was a turning point in her life and the end of the suffering and shame the underlying scar caused her. Kornun, her mentor and body modifier, would tell her stories of all the places he travelled to increase his pool of knowledge and inspiration for his artwork. Now Nora wishes to see these blossoms in real life, and experience the country from which this healing imagery originated. I am whole Nora still has patches on her body that have yet to be modified. In total, she has decided that she needs 5 more medium tattoos/scars, one on each of her inner upper arms, one on the nup of her neck, one foot (feet really hurt) and a patch on her right upper thigh, 1 large tattoo / scar on the back of her head, and a few smaller ones to fill in some spaces around her jaw, hands, and joints. Master of Modification Nora wants to become a body modifier so she can complete as many of the above works herself as she is practically able. To do so, she practices on whatever she can, from dead animals to volunteers. Ultimately, she wants to get good enough to maintain and touch up her existing, and reachable, work as well. As she has such a high opinion of the dwarf who did them, it means she is aiming to be the best. To welcome you home Nora wants to find her son. She knows it will be next to impossible, but the chance of travelling with a Circus provides her with means and opportunity to search like she didn’t have before. Fears
Whenever someone from the circus is late meeting her, or she is asked to run an errand alone in town, she begins to wonder if this is it. They’ve abandoned me. I’m not useful enough, not strong enough, not smart enough. I should’ve tried harder! I should’ve… but they are always there, always waiting for her. Memories
Wanting a family, Nora more than happily followed the man claiming to be her brother to where she believed her mother eagerly waited. He turned on her when they were out of sight of the crowds. Being almost 10 years older, pinned down and attempted to kill her, but not before making her suffer ”Like my mother suffered!” He dug his blade into her side and diagonally across her stomach, slowly, to pay back her for ever being inside his mother. Luckily, he hadn’t had the foresight to predict that local guards would step in to save her, and he fled before he could finish her off, not before shouting back she was an abomination and her mother wished she was dead. The guards left her to take care of herself though, after seeing that she was a half-orc. One even said that she ”Wouldn’t always be so lucky” The wound festered, and healed poorly, leaving a feathered, much darker coloured scar across her stomach. For the next year, it would a source of great shame for Nora, but also motivation to begin to learn how to fight and how to properly dress injuries. She began helping with the other orphan’s wounds, somewhat poorly, but better than any other care they were going to receive. As a result of this incident, she carries a deep mistrust of strangers, and the only family she recognises is those who have earned her trust and loyalty. Beauty from pain
”Now this may take a few sessions.” he said, wiping an alcohol dampened cloth across her stomach. She flinched at the contact. He eyed her, serious and contemplative. ”Ain’t gonna lie, lass, this’s gonna hurt more than when you got it. Ya ever decide to have wee green ones, it’ll distort and not sure if there’s any fixin’ tha’.” ”I’m done waiting. Just start already!” Nora snapped, trying to be braver than she felt. ”A’right. Try to relax, and don’t move. I’m about ta’ start” The needle burned. The pain intensified whenever he crossed the scar tissue. It took 3 sessions in total, 16 hours overall. She hadn’t eaten a decent meal all year, every other coin going towards the next session, the next stage in her healing process. Finally, after months of the constant cycle of working, getting tattooed and healing, it was done. She had chosen a whimsical looking sketch the dwarven tattoo artist had hanging on his wall. He said it was a native tree of some far away land. She had liked the idea of far away. The scar’s lumps and dents had been turned into the branch, making it look more textured. Smaller branches came from the main one, each one decorated with bunches of small pink flowers. Petals drifted on a non-existent wind here and there over other parts of her stomach. Her skin had darkened and twisted the colours, as she had been told it would, but she didn’t care. Her scar was finally her own. She had made it, not some painful memory of what she once longed to have. She would return to Kornun Ingot, the dwarven tattooer and body modifier, regularly from that day on. Whenever he completed a tattoo, a ritual scarification, or even just a piercing, Nora felt like she owned more and more of her body. She even learnt a few techniques, mainly scarification but she could draw a line ok, and trace one better. She watched and experienced often enough to gain an interest in the art itself, and was a slow but determined study. She was no long the product of some tragic event, her body no long a gross combination of a horrific pairing. She was Nora, and no other body like hers existed in all the kingdoms of the world. A debt with destiny
Her distraction had nearly cost her dearly. While she was much stronger and more experienced with fighting, she still had only really dealt with tavern brawls with drunks. She wasn’t prepared to be ambushed by the group of ruffians that now surrounded her. Some she recognised from the bar, troublemakers she had thrown into the dirt on more than one occasion. One or two looked more trained, more dangerous, and she became aware that she was surrounded. ”This is a long time coming, Orc” said one of the familiar faces, a tall, lean man named Doug Harper, who frequented the tavern more than his home. ”Ha! Look at her! She’s so dense she didn’t even know we had her until just then!” another regular, Thomas something, he was always trying to get in by trying to get her to agree to let him in if she answered a question wrong. She never knew the answer, but never agreed to the terms anyway. ”Jesting can wait until she is on the ground covered in blood. said a particularly violent man named Paul Grayham. He had a habit of bringing weapons to a fist fight, or making them on the spot. ”Know it’s my turn, freak. I’ll make you lick the dirt from my boots!” The two that she didn’t recognise stayed silent, but they did move in with the others. Nora put her fists up and braced herself. She would need to try and make an opening to escape, no way she could take them on her own. ”You’ll never look down on me again!” Paul charged at her, brandishing a dagger like a madman. Before he could reach Nora, a knife hit his own and both blades clattered to the ground. Nora suddenly found herself back-to-back with another female, though she wasn’t going to take her eyes of the men in front of her to see who exactly had come to her aid. ”Barbarians.” the other woman said under her breathe. ”Don’t worry, I make a living off stunts like this” Nora saw her tossing a knife up and down out of the corner of her eye ”Well… more or less” ”This has nothing to do with you, Elf. I suggest you take your leave.” this was the first time Nora had heard one of the unfamiliar faces talk, and the sound made her uneasy. It was calm, void of any emotion. The sound of someone trained for this. ”I disagree. I think I’m fairly involved as of now” she said, before whispering to Nora ”Be prepared to run.” She charged forward, though it almost looked like a dance. As the men regained their vigor. She twirled and leapt and dodge out of their way, pushing them to the ground, or knocking them out with the butt of her knives. Nora turned and ran after her, attempting to emulate as best she could the grace and ease the Elven woman before her displayed, but only barely dodging out of reach of grasping hands and over fallen bodies. However, the two trained professionals were not easily dissuaded and pursued them swifter than they could escape. They continued to run, and Nora wasn’t sure how long she could keep going, but she kept jumping and weaving as best she could. ”Safe!” Nora looked up at where she had blindly followed the Elven knife thrower. She was in a camp, curious faces peering at them as they entered. Nora turned to see the two men stop half a dozen or so feet behind them. ”Are you so determined that you would take on my family as well?” Nora’s saviour said, a slowly increasing group of all sorts of people gathering behind her. A human man emerged from the crowd stood beside her. ”These guys giving you trouble, Shalelu?” Nora saw the crowd of camp dwellers tighten their ranks, shifting warily at the suggestion that one of their own was in trouble. ”I suggest you take your leave, strangers. We are peaceful entertainers, but don’t take kindly to those who would threaten our family.” Nora looked to see an elderly human woman, wearing a a variety of shawls and scarves, giving her a very mystic appearance. The two men looked at each other, before looking back at Nora. They seemed to be weighing their options. ”Koya’s advice is as wise as she is. It would be in your best interest to go.” a beautiful painted woman spoke out next, her voice smooth as silk. The crowd began to rustle, unease growing the longer the men remained. Finally seeming to conclude that they were at too great a disadvantage, the turned and vanished into the growing night. Shalelu breathed a sigh of relief. ”Phew! Thought it was about to get messy!” Nora stood and relax a little. She didn’t know where in the city she was, and it would take her time to get home. The thought of them waiting for her to leave kept her rooted to where she was, the frustration at once again being too weak to protect herself causing her to clench her shaking fists. ”Thank you. You saved my life.” Nora said, turning to the Elven woman who was now laughing with the three others who had spoken earlier. ”Not at all. I could tell just by looking at you that they were in the wrong.” Shaleu said, giving Nora a quick once over. ”You are welcome to stay the night. It is too dangerous to let you go off on your own now” the old woman named Koya approached her, looking at her more closely. ”What is your name, stranger?” ”Nora. I have no other names.” ”You’re body tells quite a story, but this one, “ she gestured to the cherry blossom branch on her stomach ”Doesn’t seem like it’s yours” The painted woman approached, looking at the tattoo on Nora’s stomach. ”It has been a while since I’ve seen the sakura in bloom. The one who did this must have visited my homeland.” ”You travel to many places?” Nora inquired, a desire growing in her stronger by the second. Over the following days, Nora would form bonds with many of the members of the Circus troupe, and upon their departure from Magnimar, Nora the Tattooed Lady left with them.
SECRETS:
Little secrets Nora knows she carries a few gold pieces on her at all times, and other assorted survival knick-knacks, so she can start a new life in the event that the Circus leaves her behind and she needs to fend for herself. Nora doesn’t know that her brother has put a bounty on her head. The only reason she has remained safe is that he hasn’t seen her since she was 12, and she has since modified herself to the point where she looks nothing like her picture. Big secrets
It isn’t in her memories because the whole thing seemed a bit alien for her. It didn’t define her as a person, just altered her motivations, if that makes sense? Nora doesn’t know Gavon is looking for her too and his father had left to rejoin his clan of Orcs and raise his son that way. Performance
She is also on of the people who goes out to help advertise the circus, standing there next to the announcer in barely anything and flexing her tattoos and picking things up, like the announcer. Her act could be comedic if she does things like gets handed a jar and opens it, but when handed say a coconut, she looks confused but then shrugs and opens it like a jar thanks to her strength. Since the submissions look like a lot of gnomes and halflings, reverse pyramids and other lifting people feats could also be a part.
