All, I'm sorry I've been absent. I have a lot going on with work and I'm finding it just too difficult to keep up. It is unfortunate because I really like this group and Naomi as a character. Unfortunately, I feel like I need to withdraw.

While the others occupied themselves with Namrut's tour of the tomb and looking for a cage for the metal serpent, Naomi decided to occupy her time looking for a scholar who might know something of Pentheru the Elder and Pentheru the Younger.

My thoughts in case I don't get to roleplay it...1. Back to Namrut with new treasure (but should probably discuss if we want to distribute any items among party members, that scale mail might be useful for several of us) 2. We could probably dismantle the chariot and bring that up, no? Would vote for that. 3. Head to Pharasmins for second site. I'm not in favor of bringing Namrut into tomb unless approved by Pharasmins. I'm not in favor of going back to Tooth & Hookah until evening (since we probably can start our second site).

Naomi laughed lightly, "Well, that worked better than I would have ever thought it would. Not sure exactly what we're going to do with it now, but I'm sure you have thoughts on a potential buyer. I'd just make sure they know what they're getting into before they get into the chest."

The warpriestess aids Rubani when it is time to open the sarcophagus itself. "So this is brave Akhentepi. The final discovery of our first site. Rubani? It troubles me to take his mask, but I am not sure we have a choice. Some other group will inevitably disturb it. What do you think of us leaving a symbol of the lady with him instead? I have one I would be willing to leave behind."

OOC: I don't think the Pharasmins are looking for loot. I think they are more looking for a report on our findings so that thye have confidence that we have been through. I think even mentioning things like the trap and how we thoroughly searched for (and found) secret doors will probably suffice.

OOC: I'm going to OOC it for efficiency
- Loot I think we've agreed to work through Shalina's uncle and share the proceeds evenly. We might have agreed to leave a share for party supplies. I'm fine with that. I usually also find that if people want to claim something for personal use, we just go ahead and do it. If WBL winds up getting too far off, we can always adjust in a few levels. From a character perspective, I think Rubani and I will probably want to claim any obvious Pharasmin relics for personal use or to return to the church.
- Entrance to Tomb Seal it on both inside and outside. Remove our rope. Leave the spike, but remove all signs of rope (new and old)
- Any special way/manner of going back to town Naomi will be fine with the most direct route, but will not object if others want to be more cautious as long as it doesn't disrespect the Necropolis.
- Where you will go Drop things at Shalina's uncle's house. Go to the Tooth and Hookah.
- Where you will stay the night Shalina's uncle's house

Naomi blushes bright red at Rubani's words. "A dare say, that has to be the first time, I have ever been accused of being a giant Rubani." She casts her eyes down. "But thank you. And thank you for the healing as well. It is good to be among companions who care. It has not always been so for me."

After Shalina finishes healing Akhmose and suggests her uncle's house for a rest, Naomi nods her agreement. "I had been thinking of camping back by the shaft, but your suggestion sounds far more comfortable Shalina. I agree."

Naomi squashed the last few bugs under her feet and looked back up at the others. "Still alive. You too Akhmose?" Burns and bug bites cover the priestess's flesh. Her once fine robes are blackened and tattered. "At least it looks like we got them all. I wonder if there was some food or something among Akhentepi's grave good that was sustaining them. We'd better be careful."

As the others returned to the room, Naomi helped them all to go through the goods left behind in Akhentepi's tomb. Unsure of what to make of the silversheen, she took the most interest in the holy symbol of Pharasma, looking to see if the ancient symbol differed from those born by herself and Rubani. With the secret door uncovered, she mused "I'm not sure I can continue without rest of healing. I am sorely wounded and if we face more trouble ahead, I shouldn't endanger the rest of you without going forward whole."

She brushed off as many of the roaches as she could and reached for another flask. "Its no good Azghaad. They'll continue to chase us. We need to finish them now." Naomi's jaw drops as Azghaad tried to explain further, "Men!" she harrumphs. "Are the words, 'I'm sorry' simply not in your vocabulary?" She waves at the mummies bobbing in the water. At the sound if the sharply intaken breath from Shalini, Naomi looked ahead to see what the other woman had spied. Seeing the tide of cockroaches, the priestess exclaimed "Roaches! Get back Shalini!"
Round 1
Naomi's actions rely on whether someone identifies the need to attack them with splash weapons or fire. If she knows she needs to use her alchemist's fire...
The warning that her hammer would not work against the roaches set Naomi back on her heels. But hearing that alchemical fire might work, set her hands reaching for one of the vials on her bandolier. She grabbed the cool glass and ripped it out of the leather strap that held it in. The glass shone in the light for a moment and then the sound of shattering glass was quickly replaced with the "FWOOOM" of an explosion as fire engulfed the roaches. Hoping the fire would finish them, but worried that it might not, the priestess retreated a few steps to let the fire take effect and to get clear of the bugs if it didn't.
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Confirm: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 +50% = 6 fire damage

If she thinks her hammer will work just fine...
"Bugs can be squashed can't they?" Grabbing the massive hammer off her back once more, Naomi leapt forward and smashed it into the mass of insects. The hammer slammed into the ground with a satisfying crunch as more roaches flew in every direction. But hundreds more continued to swarm as Naomi looked on wondering what to try next.
Attack (Earthbreaker): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Damage (Earthbreaker): 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9 Which will only do something if they are tiny creatures making up the swarm.

Round 2
Retreating from the swarm, Naomi grabbed at a glass bottle on her bandolier. With a quick toss, she pitched the alchemist's fire into the middle of the bugs, a fiery explosion covering the swarm with red and orange flame.
If the fire from the prior round continues to burn: 1d6 ⇒ 3+50% = 4 fire damage
If no one has identified the swarm, I assume she'll have learned that her weapon is ineffective and she will switch to alchemist's fire this round. You can also treat this as a second attack with alchemist's fire if she did realize to use it during the first round.

Actions 1
Naomi dropped her scythe and grabbed the hammer back from Azghaad, "Thanks! The hammer ought to do more damage to these doors anyway." Just as she wound up for another slam on the doors, she saw the mage scribbling with chalk. "Some new spell? What are you...oh, it stopped."

Actions 2
Just then, the doors opened. Sure that some new threat was about to burst into the room, Naomi spun as best she could in the water, sending a small wave across the room as she started toward the hidden doors. At first she assumed the dozen bodies were probably an undead threat. Then seeing the Pharasmin symbols, she paused "Who would leave a dozen mummified Pharasmins in here...and why?"

From behind her, she heard Azghaad beginning some arcane incantation. She spun yet again, throwing her hands up, "No, no, no! They aren't undead. Stop! We mustn't disturb them further."

Actions 3
After calming down Azghaad and having him look closer at the mummies, Naomi started over toward the additional doors Rubani found to the west. Making her way across the dais, Naomi spotted a strange disturbance in the water near her feet. "Look, a hidden drain. I think the water might be starting to go down."

OOC:I'm thinking that we investigate these bodies that spilled out a bit more before continuing on. But, the other option is to leave this room and go west, then return to look at them further once the water has receded (assuming that is what is going on).

Round 4
Naomi spilled out of the broken sarcophagus, dagger sending flashes of blue light across the chamber as it reflected in the water. Dripping wet, Naomi managed to stand with Akhmose's help. "Never thought that might happen. Thanks for getting me out!" Hearing Azghaad's call to action, she turned just in time to see the wizard go flying at the doors with her hammer. Shaking her head in disbelief, "You know Akhmose, as crazy as that looked, I think he's got the right idea." Naomi drew her scythe and marched across the dais, starting down the steps into the water.
Move action: Stand
Move action: Move toward the south doors while drawing her scythe. I think she'll end up on the steps given the difficult terrain starts there.

Round 5
Continuing into the water, Naomi raised her scythe and brought it down against the door. The blade rippled in the pale light of the room and she certainly connected with the door, but the dull thud was a meager start to breaking it down. There had to be a another way.

From outside her stone would-be crypt, Naomi heard Shalini call out the advice about cold. Well, I'm not dead yet and it doesn't seem to be crushing me any further. "Pharasma, grant me the icy touch of the grave so that I might freeze this stone." Naomi prayed to the Lady of Graves. A blue-white glow lit her dagger and chilled the sarcophagus as the Lady granted her prayer.

Naomi felt the lid pry her hammer out of her hands as the lid slammed shut. "Let. Go. Of. Me." she yelled for all of the good it did. She felt the sarcophagus begin to contrict around her. It brought to mind some of her earliest training. How to get loose if a larger man ever grabbed her. She reached for her bandolier and ripped loose one of her daggers. "Goddess. Is this your way of telling me that entering one of the ancient tombs was a terrible idea?" The close confinement made it difficult for her to get any leverage, but she stabbed at the stone frame with the blade, hoping to find a weak spot to crack open.

She felt the dagger catch on the stone and somehow she managed to get enough behind the blow that it pushed through, creating a pinhole of light as Pharasma's blade penetrated the wall of the coffin.
If that fails...
The dagger struck the stone, but a sudden shift of the sarcophagus turned her blow. With a dull screech, the blade slid ineffectively across the rough stone.

Caught up in the questions of how to best handle the sarcophagus, Naomi was distracted by her own thoughts when the lightning suddenly caught Shalini in its flash. The simultaneous cascading events of slamming doors, gushing water, and the sarcophagus coming to life put her squarely into the moment. Hammer worked against the sand snake...let's see what it does against this...better make it count. "I'll protect Shalini from this guardian! Can one of you see if anything can be done to open those doors or stop the water!"

Round 1
Naomi reached over her shoulder and pulled her hammer loose once again, then danced around the statue and up onto the platform. "Over here!" she yelled at the sarcophagus, not knowing whether it could even hear her. Knowing she had better finish it quickly in case she was needed to bash down the doors, Naomi took the hammer in both hands and swung it straight over her head thinking how just moments ago she had been consumed with how to treat it with utmost respect.
She'll use her 3rd use of fervor to case her third divine favor. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (1, 3) + 8 = 12
If that hits...
The hammer smashed into the side of the sarcophagus, causing a spider web of cracks to appear as a few chips of stone rattled to the ground. I'm going to have to hit it a lot harder next time.
If that misses...
The hammer struck, but the hard stone barely registered the damage. Knowing she would have to do much better next time if the trap were going to be evaded, Naomi lined up for another attack.

Round 2
Seeing that the sarcogphagus wasn't going to be stopped easily, Naomi whirled the hammer again. This time she used a tactic that the Voices had drilled into her over and over. Hit it in the weak spot. Seeing the cracked stone from her previous blow, the priestess struck again, hoping a second hit would break through and stop the attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28 Threatens
Confirm: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 8 + 2d6 + 8 + 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (2, 4) + 8 + (6, 3) + 8 + (5, 1) + 8 = 45 14 damage if not confirmed
If that destroys it...
A smile stretched across Naomi's lips as the Spire training bore fruit once more. Her hammer hit the cracks from her previous blow directly in the center and the entire side of the sarcophagus exploded with the force of the blow. Ancient mortar cracked and crumbled as the shockwaves of her strike rippled through the stone and three more sides collapsed, leaving a pile of harmless stone upon the plinth.
If it is still going...
This time, she connected with a stronger attack. The hammer ripped a hole through the side of the sarcophagus, but it was clear that she would have to do more damage before the fight would be won.

OOC: I'm going to take my action assuming Azghaad lets us know about that DR 5/bludgeoning

Round 1
Shocked to see the sand itself come to life, Naomi is caught off-guard for a moment. The sharp pain of obsidian teeth crushing through her side, puncturing flesh and breaking ribs brings her quickly into action. For a moment, she reached for her familiar scythe before Azghaad's warning echoed down the tunnel. "Hammer. Got it!" Her hand moved quickly to the other side as she freed a strap that dropped her gigantic hammer into her hands. Feeling her broken ribs grind against one another, she knew she had better make her attacks count. "Not this year sand beast! Pharasma, lend me strength!"
Use one use of fervor (1/3 remain) to cast divine favor (1/3 remain) as a swift action
Attack (Earth breaker): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damage (Earth breaker): 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (3, 5) + 8 = 16 bludgeoning
Swinging the hammer with all of her might, Naomi's feet even momentarily left the steps before she brought the maul down on the creature's neck. Sand sprayed everywhere with the force of the blow driving the sandling's head down and tearing bits of armor and flesh with it as the blow released the warpriestess from its grip.
If that kills it...
Bracing herself for another attack, Naomi is relieved to see the sandling sink back into the steps. Knowing she has just dodged another death blow, the priestess drops to one knee to catch her breath and utters thanks to Pharasma.

Round 2
If the sandling drops her...
"You take and I take back creature!" Naomi hisses at the sandling. But it seemed to rise to the challenge and again, her defenses are not up to the violence of its attack. For a second time, the sandling delivers a crushing bite and this time it is too much. Pharasma's warrior falls to the steps and a shadow seems to fall over her limp body.
But, if she fights on...
Feeling her strength ebb, Naomi knew she had to make what would probably be her last attack count. She pulled the hammer back around for another blow thinking Head has to be its weak point, doesn't it. and like she was trying to ring the bell at a carnival, she brought the hammer straight down on the sandling's head, pummeling it into the hard stone of the steps and sending its shiny black teeth scattering all over the sand and steps.
Attack (Earth breaker): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Damage (Earth breaker): 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 1) + 8 = 13 bludgeoning
If that kills it...
This time, the sandling didn't come back. Instead of reforming and coming at her again, the sand scattered and everything returned to a quiet calm. The priestess drops to one knee to catch her breath and utters thanks to Pharasma.

Naomi looked quickly to the other side of the room to see if any more of the giant insects live and nodded approvingly. "Nice quick work everyone. Seems we're learning to work well together. Looks like that's all of them unless we find more behind our spiked door."

Relaxing slightly, she took a few moments to look around the rest of the room. "So this is where they prepared Akhentepi's body for burial for mummification?" She voiced a prayer to Pharasma and slowly scanned the room, looking for more magic. "Shall we have a look around to see if there is more here to document about Akhentepi?"

OOC: Ha, yes. She is supposed to be exactly that. The improbably devastating tiny warpriestess. And she didn't pop divine favor this time. Still waiting for that lovely x4 crit to land though :) If not for that nerf that took away the full BAB progression for the warpriest's focus weapon, she'd be giving any fighter a run for their money. As it is, you can expect she'll fall back as Ahkmose's full BAB kicks him ahead, but should still be a lot of fun with the rapid buff-fight combo she gets via fervor and some beefier spellcasting.

"Good thing we spiked those doors so their friends don't come in behind us. Let's see if they are tougher than those scorpions." With a smooth and familiar motion, Naomi reached behind her back to free her scythe.
Round 1
"I've got the one on the left!" she cried. "I'll slide toward the wall so once we get their numbers down, we can surround the last ones." The priestess moved left, but swung her scythe back hard to the left and was rewarded with the sounds crunching exoskeleton and pieces of shell dropping to the chamber floor.
Attack (scythe): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11

Round 2
OOC: If that attack finished her first target, she'll move to see if she can catch the next one between her and Ahkmose (and get a flank bonus). If the first target is still up, she'll attack it again.
Naomi turned back toward the center of the room, taking a step left to begin to surround the insectoid creatures. Below her feet, she could feel the broken bits of the creatures shell. Finding it more difficult to plant her feet properly, she took a slightly off-balance swing.
Attack (scythe): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Damage: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
That will hit if she can get a flank, but miss if she cannot, so...
Fortunately it didn't matter. Ahkmose's own attack caught the creature off guard and it dropped its defenses just enough for Naomi's scythe to descend lethally once more. It didn't penetrate as deep as her first strike, but the weight of the scythe still managed to cause a huge crack in the shell and she was sure that she had managed to cause deeper damage.

or

With a sharp cry of surprise, Naomi felt her foot slip out as it skidded forward on a piece of the creature's shell. Her scythe arced forward, but the blade rattled harmlessly off the surface and she nearly fell to the ground.

Practically, considering the layout of the tomb so far, I think I'd be inclined to leave everything we're planning to take up in the room just north of where we are right now. That way, we can just carry it right down the hallway and up the shaft once we leave. And, if we need to race back for something, it is less far away. The only downside is if someone slips into the tomb behind us, we've made their ability to steal everything while we are otherwise engaged quite simple. A chance I'm willing to take.

OOC: Probably a Survival check Shalina or Knowledge (nature). Sadly neither are skills possessed by Naomi who is rather skills challenged.

Its a GM call. There are no guidelines on Appraise and taking 20 like there are with the Knowledge skills.

I would say you can definitely Take 10.

However, take 20 reads (emphasis added):
Taking 20: When you have plenty of time, you are faced with no threats or distractions, and the skill being attempted carries no penalties for failure, you can take 20. In other words, if you roll a d20 enough times, eventually you will get a 20. Instead of rolling 1d20 for the skill check, just calculate your result as if you had rolled a 20.

I think a GM could certainly rule that there is a penalty for failure with an Appraise check.

Naomi stood for a moment, drawing in deep rasping breaths. She looked down at her bloodied robes and snarled, "Nasty little things. These were some of my favorite robes. I'd better wear the out-of-fashion ones next time we come down." She nodded to Akhmose after he provided another round of healing. "Thanks Akhmose. Without you and Rubani, I'd be laying down in those splinters. I can tell you if any of those are magical, but I'm sure Azghaad has a better sense of what they might do."

Round 3
The little warriors were more deadly than Naomi had imagined. Three times they had managed to bloody her and she only had eliminated one of her foes. Gritting her teeth to deal with the pain, she planted her feet on the blood-slick floor and swung again at the warrior right next to her. The blade of the scythe flashed with malice as it descended on the little warrior with the red spear. She exulted with a sharp "Ha!" as the scythe connected, smashing through the doll's defenses and landing a solid hit on its right shoulder.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Damage: 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 2) + 8 = 13
If that finishes it...
The blow was even more deadly than she'd hoped. It carved a chunk from the doll's shoulder, but continued right into its neck, cutting deep into the wood until the warrior's head toppled off with the solid "THUNK" onto the floor.

Round 4
Seeing that the odds now favored the explorers, Naomi took a more aggressive pose, sliding forward to seek a killing blow. But for the second time in the fight, she made a terrible mistake, this time failing to account for the slickness of the bloody floor. Nearly losing her footing, she managed an awkward blow at the wooden warrior, but her weak attack merely fluttered through the air over its head.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Damage: 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (4, 4) + 8 = 16

If we finish them during this sequence...
Naomi sagged and propped herself up with her scythe, bleeding from several wounds and trying to catch her breath. "I would have never imagined those little warriors would be so fierce. Do you know what they were Azghaad? I hope we don't encounter more."

What about round 2?

I'll recap sometime today.

Was updating a piece at a time since the boards claimed my first attempt as a sacrifice!!

Actions 1
Of course Naomi recognized Pharasma, but she listened with interest to hear Ahkmose tell of the older Osirian gods. "Interesting. Quite a wide array of gods look over our general's tomb."

Actions 2
In the next room, Naomi's interest surged further. "The general's shields and weapons. Most interesting. There is that shield we've seen depicted with him. It is very different than any I've seen." But Ahkmose's interest in the diorama soon draws her attention and she moved closer to the table. "The detail here is amazing don't you think. No doubt some of Wati's historians would be fascinated to see this."

Round 1
But the motion of the tiny warriors soon interrupted her study. "What are those?!" The hostile intent of the tiny figures was obvious as she heard the call from Azghaad. "Withdraw? You've got to be kidding. They are right in front of me!" With efficient motion, you saw her hand dart over her shoulder and free the giant scythe from her back. "I've got this one on the left. See what the rest of you can do with the others. Lady! Lend me your strength!" The scythe whistled through the air as Naomi attacked, replaced by a crunch as the blade sheared right through the lower half of the tiny warrior's shield and continued into its legs.
Swift action to use a point of fervor to cast divine favor
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Damage: 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (3, 4) + 8 = 15
If that destroys our warrior...
The scythe continued right through the warrior's legs as if a knife slicing through butter. With an explosion of splinters, the warrior's legs shatter and the remaining pieces of the statue fall clattering to the ground.

Round 2
Naomi whirled to prepare herself for the next attack, but never having fought such tiny foes, she misjudged her second attack. Bringing the scythe around, she extended a little too far and the tip of the blade caught on the leg of the table. Instead of striking another warrior the blow cleaved through the leg of the table with a similar effect to the shield a moment before. Unfortunately, instead of striking a warrior the blade cut through empty air and the diorama rattled and swayed before the other three legs managed to keep it upright.
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Damage: 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (4, 1) + 8 = 13

OOC: BTW, I'm pretty sure that in canon, Pharasma was contemporaneous with the Osirion gods and may even have pre-dated them. She's been around a long time. Maybe not as long as Desna, but a long time. But Fabian can always change that too.

Naomi nodded, "That is most interesting Azghaad. Something the priests will certainly want to hear all about. Its shame about the tapestry though. Perhaps we can find someone in Wati who would be able to restore it."

After helping to open the doors, Naomi moved into the room, looking around cautiously for anything out of place. Satisfied that things were safe, on the surface at least, she walked forward to look at the tapestry and mused, "I wonder what happened to them all after he went to the Lady? The priests will want to know of this. Especially if their records are incomplete."

Later, once the decision to head north was confirmed, Naomi helped with the doors once more revealing the room with the chariot. "Well that is most impressive. I suppose we should see what this wooden chest holds."

Naomi nodded, "Well, better to not know than find out the hard way." She moved up to the doors, unable to resist testing the plate to make sure it wasn't going to trigger. "Exquisite artwork here. Do you think it conceals any more traps or shall we push things open?" Once the doors were declared safe, Naomi helped to open them up.

Seeing the archaeologist pull out her tools, Naomi nervously interjected "Um. I have a lot more experience with stand up fighting. If you don't mind, I'll watch you from over..." Naomi scuttled back up the hall with visions of flooded corridors, walls squashing intrepid explorers and poisonous gas in her thoughts."...here." she finished as she arrived back in the room with the rope.

With Salini's announcement that the trap had been disarmed, Naomi shouldered her scythe and returned to the doors. "Did you figure out what it would do?"

OOC: Yup, still here and my apologies for the bad week. Holidays. Vacation. Work recovery. And then a horrible cold. Will have a proper post up shortly.
OOC: Regarding trapfinding, Naomi can also help with the detect magic any time Shalini is predisposed. SHe doesn't have Spellcraft though so won't be able to tell what it is.
OOC: Not going to roleplay this since Fabian had done the recap, but let's be sure to distribute these items. Especially the alchemist's fire, but you never know when we might need to use the pitons for a door or to help climb. I'd suggest Ahkmose for the pitons and hammer since encumbrance isn't an issue for him and Shalini is probably our best ranged touch attacker for the alchemist's fire.

Naomi takes time to inspect the carvings as everyone makes their way down the corridor. He does not appear to have been a religious man in life, but a mighty warrior indeed.

When Shalini issued her warning, Naomi echoed, "A pressure plate in front of the doors Shalini?" She looked ahead, trying to see the door closely without approaching or getting in the way. "Can you see what it triggers? It might not be the doors. Do you think we could withdraw from the corridor and toss or slide the pitons onto the pressure plate?"

Lit by Azghaad's flames, Naomi peered more closely at the walls of the shaft. "Looks far too smooth for a physical blade to be hidden within those walls. I don't think that is what cut the rope. Magic perhaps?" Clutching her holy symbol, Naomi offers a prayer to Pharasma and inspects the shaft again, this time looking for magical auras aside from Azghaad's lights.
Cast detect magic in case Azghaad's earlier casting was blocked by the shaft.

Not having recognized the older Osiriani deity, Naomi asked "What became of Anubis? It sounds like he may have once been closely allied with the Lady, but I'm afraid I learned nothing of him in my own studies thus far."

Upon reading the warning to everyone, she bowed her head and added "Not grave robbers my Lady. We serve you in this as all things. The Church has decreed that this tomb will be opened. But, we will show respect to Akhentepi."

"Do any of you think we should light torches here before continuing?"
OOC: I think outer door closed and wheel open is the right way to go.

Naomi lent her strength to the others to force open the great wheel protecting the tomb. She followed Shalina into the tomb and tilted her head at the sight of the piton and rope. "We are not the first then? Someone has visited Akhentepi's tomb in the past. I wonder what this mystery means?"

Once debate over a course of action ensued, she suggested, "I see no reason we shouldn't take advantage of this piton and descend by rope ourselves. But, it would be best to make sure there isn't a trap set here to cut our rope as this one was cut in the past." She peered at the stone in the area 5 feet into the shaft where the rope appeared to be cut.
OOC: Let's take 20 on searching for traps here.

Naomi looks sadly to Boram, "Not good I'm afraid Boram. The mother and I agreed that she would break the news and I will come by again next time we return from the Necropolis. Its going to be hard on them." She pauses before continuing, "Maybe you can help too. It might not be the type of support you were thinking, but Tissle's family will need help too. Someone to check in on them. A friend. I don't blame you for your decision. I'm sure today was only the beginning." Silently, she adds to herself I only wish that group that met the ghouls had more to share.

She bobs her her toward the door at the sound of the wizard's staff. "That would be Azghaad, I'm sure. We should make plans for the morrow now that he's here." Naomi turns to the door when she hears the hesitation in Sarenei's voice. "Azghaad, we were just speaking of you. Who is your companion?"
