About Mulruck Flamebrand

Description:

The bristling flame-red hair and beard of this dwarf are kept artfully unkempt, in sharp contrast to the braids and plaits of many of his clansmen. Prominently above his beard on the left cheek and temple is a large birthmark, raised and angry red on his skin, in the shape of a burning flame and reminiscent of the god Angradd's symbol. Otherwise, the dwarf is more slight of build than many of his kind, but his gaze holds a fiery intensity.

Background:

Born with the mark of Angradd on his face to match his flame red hair, Mulruck was destined for the priesthood of the Forge-Fire from birth. Even as a child, his personality was full of flare and bombast, and despite his small size he was ever aggressive at play and work. So the priests of the Forge-Fire took him in at an early age, and he he quickly learned to channel the brashness and aggression of his fiery personality into the more arcane arts of the priesthood. He found himself better able to express the tactics and tenants to others, and invoke the divine powers of Angradd rather directly fight in a battle. So he focused on preaching the theory of tactics rather than swing the axe himself.

When he was ready to formally enter the priesthood, he took the great-axe as his weapon as all the fire-priests do, but it was clear that it was the spirit of Angradd rather than the battle-prowess that was his focus. Readily able to call holy flames and inspire others in battle, Angradd would hang back in battle to analyze the tactics and advise those more capable of war from behind the lines. A natural leader, he learned to inspire his comrades and support them with the fiery blessings of Angradd rather than swing the axe as often himself.

Personality:

The fire of Angradd runs deep in Mulruck, and his personality is more engaging than that of his dwarven brethren. He is quick to buy a round of ale and engage in conversation, and is a natural leader among his friends. He longs to test his tactical knowledge and mastery of the divine fire of Angradd in battle, however, and is likely to push to fight rather than parlay when challenged.
