Background:
There may be no one still alive who knows about Nikolaus' early life. Found abandoned along the side of a road in a large basket by a Varisian caravan when he was but days old, many assume that the half-giant's parents either couldn't, or wouldn't, be able to raise the child. Despite never knowing his birth parents, Nikolaus never lacked for love and comfort. "Klaus", as he is lovingly referred to by his adoptive family, has been trained by the welcoming Varisians to master both his mind and his body, to serve as a guard for the caravan.
Intent on meeting their expectations, Reinherz has worked relentlessly to become the most skilled and stalwart protector the caravan has ever known. And now that one of his companions is setting out, he has been tasked with protecting them on their journey.
Appearance and Personality:
Standing a good foot and a half taller than the tallest humans, Nikolaus' giant heritage is clear to see. Broad-shouldered and heavily muscled, he stands as a pillar of physical might. However, despite his stature, he is far from unintelligent. With a focused mind, he is able to exert the force of his personality upon the world itself.
This combination has, strangely enough, led Nikolaus to be an excessively calm, loyal and friendly individual. Steadfast in his intent to protect anyone he can, his zeal to do so borders on the obsessive. Despite this, his happy demeanor and trusting smile make it hard for people to dislike the adopted son of Varisian nomads.
