DESCRIPTION:
Mordecai Rand is a tall man with a swimmers athletic physique. He has long black hair and golden eyes. The most striking thing about him is his eyes. He has an intense gaze that seems to miss nothing. Despite this, he is strikingly attractive.
He has playful sense of humor and a devil may care attitude that hides a fierce loyalty and deep seated sense of justice. Mordecai's friends are his friends and he will move heaven and earth to help them.
Conversely he is quite willing to walk away from a fight that might have preserved his honor. He has a mind of a survivalist, thinking of the way out before he goes in and thinking of how to minimize trouble when he can. He does not mind bluffing or threatening or even outright lying if he can accomplish something greater through it. If that means running and fighting again another day... Well, from his perspective, that is better than dying.
BACKGROUND:
Mordecai does not know who his parents are/were. He spent his life on the streets and was always trying to find his next meal. While that might have made some bitter, it instilled in the young man a sense of gratitude and compassion. As he grew he discovered that magic flowed through his veins. Though naturally a free spirit he embraced some of Irori's teachings and tried to master himself and control the power in his veins.
As a young adult he was able to put this natural power to good use, helping the downtroden or the poor or those to whom he felt had been treated unjustly. A fierce individualist, he is very loyal to Andoran.
He has always been curious about his family origins and recently he has heard that he may have a brother in the area of Scarlet Hope. Within hours of hearing this, he also heard about the troubles there and when the Peoples Council organized an expedition to help those that had survived he made his desire to join strongly known, having done odd jobs for them in the past.
