"Maybe we should spend less time in enclosed spaces with sociopaths. Just saying." Molly "whispers" to Simon.

"Um. Boss?"

Molly Says from somewhere down the hallway.

"I know you're having a good time, but did you want to check out this door?"

"What's in the next room?"

Molly says having moved just barely into the underground "doorway."

Molly flies up and around looking for anything out of the ordinary. Perhaps a birds eye view will help.

Perception 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

Skiron is rather enjoying himself, but knows that this can't last forever. He fishes around in his bag for a small, strangely-colored cake and consumes it. As he does so, his oscillations in the air give a bit of a start, and his position twists to become vertical relative to the ground rather than horizontal.

I drink a levitate infusion. If it's possible for me to start descending, I do so as far as I can.

Sure you can come down at 20' a rd. So drinking a potion/eating cake is a free action coming down 20' is a move action. I believe this leaves you a standard action?

dribking a potion is a standard action unless you have a feat.

Flies out to a safe distance. Let's say 50 feet away in some nearby trees.

Molly looks to Simon and back. "still gross."

"Gross."

Molly says from a nearby tree.

I completely forgot about my familiar.

A raven caw's from a nearby perch.

Molly taps Simon and then points to the middle of the pond.

Then quietly
"She's seen better days."

Molly searches from above and flies back to report.

Eagles are predators of ravens. I didn't get that at first. Please edit Molly's comments above to include something about not getting too close because I the eagles nest.

DM:

Ahh, I get it. Thanks.

A few hours later molly flies back into camp and lands on the top of the head one of Grey's nearby minions.

She speaks very quickly and excitedly. Remember she's very smart for a raven, but not for a person.

DM questions:

Is it a giant eagles nest or a regular eagles nest?

"Ok, so I saw a bunch of stuff. First, There's an eagles nest in the fort. It's probably important, but I'm not sure why. It's on a big rocky hill with a bunch of thorn vines. I used those to get close without anyone seeing me. I kept the vines between me and them. There's enough space to sneak a some man sized things and keep the vines between you and them. There is a path that leads up the hill, but it's cleared away and you couldn't sneak anyone up that way. There's a big wooden wall about three men high with watchtowers and spots where guards can see over the wall. They were mostly watching the path up. There were a lot of men. At least 15 with bows. I think one saw me, but I was with a bunch of other ravens so he didn't look twice."

Sometime in the dark of night Molly flies off to investigate.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Stealth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 plus bonuses for being black and going at night

Molly flies close and otherwise tries to act like a normal raven. Perhaps joining with a murder (group of ravens) that might already be close if not inside the keep somewhere.

EDIT: Actually just take 10 on perception until she gets closer. She'll take her time scouting, though she keeps her distance. She's counting troops, looking for fortifications, weak points, etc.

"That's a hell of a pep talk. " Molly says, clearly impressed.

For this? Battling the spawn of Jubilex? Seems reasonable. Thought that did not apply to Wizards, just divine casters. Archon appears within 30ft and can attack immediately.

WIzards can summon whatever they want. Clerics can only summon within 1 step of their Alignment. I Know the former is true, not sure about the latter but I seem to recall something like that.

"I'm confused. Is that the statue we're after or not?"

Percep 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

"Mite and a statue on the back of the spider. That's weird."

Thkrull wrote:

"Sounds good to me. I'll draw 'em out, and you all take care of 'em," Thkrull growls, beginning to stalk forward.

Let's just do this.

"As solid of a plan as any." Molly replies

After a period of time Molly flies back to the group to report.

"Nest of wasps in the upper branches. 2 mites on wasps are on patrol. I did see one of the mites go down a hole under one of the roots. There were bones around the hole. I thought it was strange, but possibly a secret entrance or something. "

Molly nods and flies off. She'll stay in the tree line, but otherwise circle the place looking for means of ingress.

Stealth 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

There should be some stealth bonuses for distance and cover. She only needs to see the outside, not get close.

Molly crouches down on Simons shoulder and moves slightly behind his neck attempting to remain unseen.

Stealth if necessary 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

just realized Molly doesn't speak Draconic, so she can't understand the conversation. So she says nothing.

Molly says in the trees, but otherwise stays as close to Simon a possible while remaining hidden.

"Under that tree is an overloaded cart, a horse, a few bandits. A dwarf is shouting at them. "

In her best Admiral Ackbar impression "It's a trap. "

Then in her normal voice. "I also saw the small thing run away. "

"The bandits are camped 24 miles that way." She indicates.

"Are we going to talk about it all day or head out?"

Either alone or with a companion Molly flies out and attempts to follow the bandits tracks back to their source while everyone else sleeps, etc. She's looking to figure out where they came from. They rode horses and made no attempt hide their tracks, so it shouldn't be incredibly difficult. In theory anyway.

Survival to track 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

"I can track a little, but is anyone better at it?"

"Righty - O!"

Molly takes flight.

Taerine Doumont wrote:

It's on the summoner's spell list, so I assume she can without a check.

Correct.

Having flown to and landed on Hargran Molly speaks to those around her.

"If any I you are casters use this on him. Ill tell you the command word. "

She lifts the wand with her foot slightly.

got all the way over here and realized that neither Molly nor Simon have UMD. Oops.

Other location round 10

Molly retrieves a red wand from Simons pack and flies it to land on Hargran. I imagine she'll make it next round.

Flies down to land on Simon's shoulder.

Molly takes to the air at her master's behest and looks for the hangman. She'll fly up and around looking in a search pattern over the next few rounds. Through their empathic link Simon should be able to feel when she is excited and thus will know when she has found them.

Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

If she sees any signs she'll track them to their source.
Survival 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

From her vantage point high above Molly See's what's happening and hears the yell of intruders. She'll spend her actions flying down and landing on the high wall near AD33.

DM discretion about what, if anything, she saw in the two rounds scouting and how long it takes her to get to AD33.

"Guys."

Molly points (with her beak) there appears to be someone on top of one of the front gate looping a rope with a noose around the supports and throwing it down.

Molly helps

Quietly "He looks like hell. "

Molly eyes the cat cautiousl. and the two lock eyes momentarily.

"Don't even think about it, furball. "
