A quick tl;dr, I wrote a gestalt 20/20 one shot for focused but non optimized gestalt characters. It uses content from the new Planar Adventures book, including the new CR 30 Leviathan monster.
It's a bit of a labor of love and parting gift for my first Pathfinder group, where I joined midway through Rise of the Runelords and played for a year. We beat the 6th book two weeks ago, and ran my one shot this past Sunday.
A link to the Google Drive folder here.
About this One Shot
This is a level 20 gestalt one shot for non optimized but build focused players. Included in the Google Drive folder are 24 pages of content, which includes 2 pages of an Appendix for First World planar traits and two minor artifacts for the story. There are 4 statblocks for the enemies, not including the Leviathan, as well as images for them to be used or shown to players during games.
The adventurers are responding to a Bounty Board "wanted" job to hunt "The Great Beast" and starts out as a somewhat straightforward Moby Dick ripoff until the adventurers are planeshifted by the Leviathan to the First World, where they need to solve a feud between the Fey Queen and Wolven King of Rosewall and Morning Glory Forest respectively.
Things I Tried to Prepare For
It is incredibly hard to predict and prepare around 20/20 gestalts, but inside the main document is a somewhat detailed number of area effects and things that stymie common tactics - namely trying to Plane Shift off the First World when they wake up there. As a DM you are encouraged to adapt, but not go out of your way to counter, other problematic tactics.
Plans Moving Forward
I want to make a map of the area, as well as upgrade the Wolven King's Guard enemies to have Dampen Presence, Blindsight, and a higher modifier to hit as they have trouble with any build that has respectable dexterity or AC.
Additionally I will be putting more images for the areas, as well as a list of song suggestions for background noise. This should be done in the next two weeks, as I move soon.
What I'd Like from the Community
Honestly I'd just like feedback. Did you all enjoy my writing, are there any glaring weaknesses or things I missed? Would you enjoy seeing other Gestalt focused one shots?
I felt the need to share with the community, and really hope to see your feedback.
Thank you
