Just finished the book. Loved it, and I want more. Being new to Starfinder lore, this book is a great introduction. My imagination is on overload with possibilities from the conclusion of the story. Excited to see what is next.

I am enjoying the book and glad to see that the first print run already sold out. I hope this means that this product is considered a success. I hope to see future hardback novels. Maybe 1 or 2 annually.

I appreciate the offer, but I know that daily commitments just do not fit with my schedule anymore. I really do miss this game, and I wish that I had the time and energy to continue.

I hope you all take this game to the next level and have a blast. I'll try and follow along. I really do enjoy these characters and would love to see them get to the end.

Best wishes!

Loving the geo map and the art work. This does sound fantastic. For those late to the party, is there any chance on the Jade Regent AP getting some love on Drive Thru RPG? With all of the HYPE, I am hoping that this request is up for consideration. I have books 3 & 5, which can still be purchased through Paizo, but the others are out-of-print. I purchased a few of the other OoP AP books from Drive Thru RPG and am satisfied with the quality. I already have the PDF's but would be interested in physical copies.

Hoping for a season 3. I have really enjoyed watching these in-studio live plays. The characters (and players) are a lot of fun, and I find it to be a great way to better understand the rules and game mechanics. Also, it would be really cool to see some character art.

The Pathfinder books being sold now, are they from the latest printing? 4th printing, I believe. I have several copies of the 1st printing hardcover and pocket, but I am thinking that I may want at least one print copy with all of the current errata. I know that the PDF's update, but I do like a good physical copy. Thanks for any response.

Sounds awesome! I have been enjoying watching the DAT crew play Pathfinder Heroic Endeavors. Hoping for a 3rd season. Looks like a good time to learn some Starfinder.

I always enjoy reading the Iconic fiction. This character, in particular, is becoming my favorite. Great story and the word play used envisioning the powers of the mind are fantastic.

rdknight wrote:

So Mioki, the siblings or similar thing.

With the Investigator option on my end and a Slayer on yours, it's easy as can be. They're the outdoorsy, woodsy family that does things together. You're more the hunter, I'm more the explorer. They're like chocolate and peanut butter, two great tastes that taste great together. I'm not settled on a campaign trait for this one, but probably something generic and easy like Rostlander or Pioneer.

With the Oracle things get a little more complicated. She's not always well, and doesn't always have it together mentally. Although I expect her prognosis to be one of improvement over time, you character would need to be something of a caretaker for her. This option requires more of you if you want to be related. I'm also thinking about the Noble Born (Medvyed) trait for her. It goes a long way toward explaining how she got ahold of such an odd book, and the benefits mesh well with her character.

Of course if you've got something of your own cooking that doesn't work well with these, we can drop the idea.

Looks like we are sharing ideas at the same time. With what I have offered, any interest in joining Family Pythanus?

@rdknight: Thank you so much for the Slayer referral. Looking this class over, it fits in very well with the background ideas that I have stewing.

I think Slayer might be my choice. Only thought with GM's house rule on Disable Device - would the Slayer class be mixed in with the mentioned classes. If rdknight sticks with Investigator, it is a non-issue. But otherwise ...

Along the thought of 15 vs 20 point-buy: I have no true opinion either way, but I do think a 20 point buy fits more with the AP. Since the pc's will eventually take on some type of leadership role in a budding kingdom, my thought is that they should stand out and be exceptional. Only thoughts to offer. Either way, I am stoked for the game.

Building on the assumption that rdknight plays an investigator or other skilled character, PaleDim plays something arcane, and Aldizog sticks with divine caster, I'll go with a human ranger focusing on archery.

Probably from Rostland with the Hunter Trait as my non-AP Trait.

@rdknight - if this idea meshes with your character idea, let's keep the sibling idea if you still want to. If not, no worries.

If anyone thinks we would benefit from a rogue instead (or something else), please let me know.

I can fill the role of divine caster. If this is the role I fill, I might do something other than a follower of Abadar.

If Aldizog wants to play a Warpriest, then I'll maybe go with a ranged-specialist via Rogue / Ranger / Fighter. (I think a Ranger would do well and be beneficial for this AP) Or depending on what type of arcane caster PaleDim chooses, maybe a different type of caster. Magus? Sorcerer?

I am flexible on what I play. (preference might be Ranger or Magus/Sorcerer but not by much)

@Aldizog - choose the character you want, and I'll work around that.

@rdknight - no preference on race. If we are siblings, human makes the most sense. Or I could be an orphaned half-orc taken in by humans. We could be roughly the same age and tell everyone that we are twins.

"Hey, we're twins. Can't you see the resemblance?"

I know that Pathfinder offers so many options that I am completely unaware of. With my limited experience, I will typically stay with the core base or stray slightly into something I am somewhat familiar with. I do own most of the books, just have not read through them all. If anyone wants to throw out cool options, I'll do the research.

@rdknight: Building off of the sibling idea - Do you have a Campaign Trait preference? I kind of like Rostlander. It gives me a heroic vibe.

Of course, only thoughts at this point. No deal breakers / nothing set in stone.

rdknight wrote:

Hey Mioki, what about we run a pair of siblings so we can bicker all the time?

Say, off the top of my head, if I played an Alchemist, you could play a Mutation Warrior Fighter, with my character being the one who taught you a little about alchemy.

Or, if you're more inclined toward something roguish, my character, still an alchemist, used to give yours alchemical goodies to help you out against their better judgement, but then you got found out by Johnnie Law and now my character has been dragged into being a fugitive with yours.

I do like the thought of siblings. Maybe even twins. You could be a few minutes older and hold that over me.

I am open to character options. I am thinking of myself as the 5th wheel, where I build a pc that might fill a gap or compliment others. With all of your vast knowledge, feel free to point me in a direction.

Heck, I'd even consider being Aldizog's horse if the character's name would be Wilbur. Then you could call me Mr. Ed. :)

My Character

Hope I am not dating myself too much with that reference . . .

Sorry for vanishing. Rough work week. Glad to see you're back, Mioki.

After this experience, I believe I can safely conclude that PBP is not for me.

Good to hear from you Assembler. PBP can be challenging to keep up with. And you picked up a game that was going for over a year. That could not have been easy.

Thank you for keeping this game alive. Without your contribution, this game may have ended for good.

Thanks again.

If there's agreement all around that would be great Mioki, and welcome back! I hope the reasons you end the hike early were good ones!

Looks like everyone checked in. I'll give it the weekend out of respect to Assembler. If we do not hear back by then, I'll put a request into Paizo Customer Service to switch the game over and offer up a post.

I ended my hike on my terms. I had some tendonitis in my left achilles that I was working through. This I could have dealt with. What sealed the deal was speaking to my wife each night. (you would be surprised how good reception is out in the woods - there are communication towers all over the ridges). Laying in my tent each night, I realized just how much I missed her. Also, I missed GrubHub. Hiker Hunger is a real thing!

Also, glad to be back playing with you folks.

Hello Everybody,

I ended my hike early for a multitude of reasons, but I am feeling a lot better. The little time I spent on the Trail really cleared my head.

It appears that the game may have stalled. I did PM Assembler a couple of days ago but have not heard back.

Any interest in getting the original band back together if we do not hear from Assembler soon?

It would be great to play with you all again.

Hello,

Still playing PF1, but own most of the PF2 collection. I am also looking to learn the game.

Below is my submission for your consideration:

Maxillar is a Taldan born into a military family and named after one of its greatest Generals. Following in his fathers footsteps, Maxillar joined the military as soon as he was eligible. His first post was as a bowman on Oppara’s wall. Proud, diligent, and ideological, Maxillar saw first hand the politics and maneuverings for power. Disgusted, he served the minimum time in his enlistment and quit his post. Facing family disappointment, he left Oppara.

Hey GM,

I think I'll bow out of this game. Over the weekend, I got involved with two hopefully long-running games and need to manage time and quality.

It is my hope you did not invest too much (any) time yet involving my intended character in the game.

I wish you and the players an excellent game.

Cheers!

So I have a half-orc magus I that was built to fill in at 10th level for the Shattered Star AP. He was not selected and is still waiting to be adjusted and played.

It was brought to my attention though that apparently inter-species adult-play has run rampant in the past with several half-orcs so I am rethinking character choices.

Reviewing the current assemble, does anyone fill the role of a ranged fighter/ranger type?

I am open to recommendations.

Cheers!

Hello Everyone!

I want to thank you for the invite. I look forward to joining the game and rolling some virtual dice with you all.

I joined the boards about 6 months ago and I am really enjoying these PbP games. They are a great way to learn the game and do some quality role-playing.

I live in Pennsylvania, so I am on EST, and I typically check the boards several times a day.

When I am not rolling dice, I also enjoy hiking, backpacking, and kayaking. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Thanks again, Cheers!

Concept in Progress:

That's great! The motivation to slip into the adventurer/criminal underworld is a classic and 'he saw something he shouldn't have' is an excellent hook for me.

Does the person he left his daughter with have to be a friend? There's a noble family in the city that has a role in the campaign that runs a children's charity shelter/hospice/hospital. He could have had a friend take her there or maybe got hooked up with the charity through a friend of a friend.

Dock worker is good. He'd be a member of the Longshoremen's Guild and I'd have a hook with another faction about the thing he saw.

GM:
Charity works for the daughter just fine.

Could surely do dock worker, but I was thinking of something a bit more elaborate that would work against him trying to hide his identity.

What do yo think of this:

He is a skilled artisan. Mostly glass work from actual glassware to works of art. On low tide, he goes near the docks to gather special sands that cover the beaches and tide plain. With his Magus powers, he uses a alternative form of 'Shocking Grasp' to meld the sand into works of glass art. He has a shop and an art studio and his works are long sought after by the rich and nobility.

He was down near the docks when he saw something. This could have led to the attack on him and his daughter or could have been a coincidence. Maybe instead, it was a rival artisan attempting to take him out. Hence, the investigation of who is trying to have him killed.

Just some thoughts. Let me know what you think.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game, Starfinder Society Subscriber

Will this idea work with the overall campaign?

Concept in Progress:

Shifter Magus:
This Shifter saw something he should not have around the docks. Due to this, someone tried to have him killed by having a poison gas infiltrate his home. The gas was a type of Cackle Fever. He shifted (Beasthide) and was able to fight off the effects, but his daughter was sickened and is not recovering.

After the attack, he hid his daughter with a friend while he faked his own death. For now, who ever tried to kill him thinks he is dead, while he tries to uncover the identities of whom did this to him. Meanwhile, he discovered that his daughter’s condition is difficult to treat and needs special herbs and magic, these are very expensive and hard to obtain.

He hears about a job that might pay well. While masking his identity, he seeks out this job. His main motivation is curing his daughter.
This character, probably chaotic good, will pretty much do anything to cure his daughter. I see intense moral dilemma in his future. Also, constantly looking over his shoulder and hoping he does not get recognized or have his daughter found for leverage.

A few things I need to consider and work on.
- Need to work on background skill, what was his job; some kind of general labor, but uses magic to make his work easier / better.
- What did he see along the docks. (doesn’t have to be docks. Alley, church, lots of options)
- Who is his friend. Will the friend be an NPC
- How did he fake his death
- name

Hello SCV,

Is this a generic rural countryside or is it in a specific part of Golarion or other setting? Thinking of a pious type child and wondering what deity options I have and the region would assist in fleshing out a short backstory.

Also, most of my PF2 experience is from watching 'Knights of Everflame', but I do have all of the books. Are you looking for experienced players only?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

My interest is piqued. I have always liked the Shifter race. The 'Child of the Streets' alternative racial trait would seem to fit this adventure.

Any restrictions on classes? I'm thinking a Shifter Magus would be fun, but I could do rogue, ranger, fighter, depending on party needs.

Do the PC's know what the 'heist' entails? Could be helpful in developing a character concept.

I'll check back.

Cheers!

GM:
I am working on my Half-orc Magus. According to the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, Dwarven is not a bonus language option for a Half-Orc. My character was born in the City of Urgir in the Orc-held lands of Belkzen which was originally built by Dwarves. A core part of my character involves finding dwarf tomes of magic and weapons while exploring ancient catacombs in the city. With his high intelligence score, I am thinking he could teach himself while reviewing ancient tombs.

I am requesting the allowance to add Dwarf to the bonus language options.

Thanks for the consideration.

I would like to try and get in on this. I am thinking an Elf Cleric of Shelyn or Desna could be fun for this. After work, I'll put something together and see if I make the cut.

I saw this the other day on a FB add. I love an excellent cup of coffee so I went ahead and already placed an order. It has already shipped and I cannot wait to try it. I'll have to review it after I do. Might also have to buy more to take advantage of the free bag.

On their website, they have a picture of a Paizo Goblin Mug, but they were not selling them yet. Will they be available to purchase at some point. I wants it; I needs it. Nothing like drinking Goblin Gulp out of a Goblin Mug.

posted something quick to keep the story flowing. Did not spend too much time in front of the screen this weekend. We had some beautiful early Spring weather here in PA and had to take advantage of the sunshine and the extra hour and hike some trails.

Paizo,

Just asking for a little help. I sent an email about a week ago regarding pending orders - no response. Just tried calling and was told 'The Mailbox was Full'.

What in the world is going on over there. This is no way to run a business.

Order #16146713 has been pending since 2/13. Not sure if this was missed or there is an issue with the items ordered.

Order #13774479 I believe met the criteria for $10 off of shipping, but I was charged shipping. This order is also pending and hopefully it is an easy fix.

If you're busy and working on it great! Just let me know. I am a patient person, but I am also your customer who subscribes to many of your products.

Looking for some kind of reach out from Customer Service to let me know what is up with the orders in question. Not asking much, just some simple and courteous Customer Service.

Sorry for the Snark, but somebody from the top needs to recognize that you are probably understaffed.

No problem, I still have to work on a character

I'll start a new pbp thread over the weekend and invite you all. If you want to get started on character generation, I am going with the 20-point-buy-system. Up to 2 traits with one trait specific to the AP.

If you provide an extensive background that can justify a 3rd trait, go for it. The bonus trait just has to be in a different category than your other traits.

I sure want it to be.

I knew there would be a delay since I am working on a major merger within my company. This project is taking longer than expected, but I have it almost completed. Then my spare time should become a bit more accessible.

I still need to read through the adventure again, maybe make some adjustments, and create some NPC's. If you are still interested in 2-3 weeks, I should be good to go.
