RACE ABILITIES/QUALITIES

CLASS ABILITIES/QUALITIES
Orisons (Sp) Oracle's learn a number of orisons, or 0-level spells." These spells are cast like any other spell, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.
Mystery: Life An oracle with the life mystery adds Handle Animal, Knowledge (nature), and Survival to her list of class skills.
Master Herbalist A divine herbalist has mastered countless alchemical techniques that supplement her divine powers and greatly aid her when she heals the sick and wounded. She gains a competence bonus on Profession (herbalist) checks equal to 1/2 her oracle level (minimum 1), and uses her Charisma modifier in place of her Wisdom modifier when attempting Profession (herbalist) checks. Additionally, a divine herbalist can identify potions as if via detect magic using Profession (herbalist) instead of Spellcraft, and she can attempt such a check after holding a potion for 1 round.
Healer's Way (Su) A divine herbalist combines alchemy, acupuncture, and divine magic to heal wounds by touch. She can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 1 + her Charisma modifier. With one use of this ability, she uses positive energy to heal the target of 1d6 hit points for every 2 oracle levels she has. Using this ability is a standard action unless the oracle targets herself, in which case it is a swift action. Using this ability requires only one free hand. This ability counts as a paladin’s lay on hands ability for the purposes of feats, spells, and effects that work with that class feature when it is used for healing purposes. Unlike lay on hands, this ability cannot be used to harm undead.
Life Link As a standard action, you may create a bond between yourself and another creature. Each round at the start of your turn, if the bonded creature is wounded for 5 or more hit points below its maximum hit points, it heals 5 hit points and you take 5 hit points of damage. You may have one bond active per oracle level. This bond continues until the bonded creature dies, you die, the distance between you and the other creature exceeds medium range, or you end it as an immediate action (if you have multiple bonds active, you may end as many as you want as part of the same immediate action).

Background Story:

A most curious case has presented itself. Long has Kenabres been a beacon for madmen, false prophets, doomsayers, and their ilk. They frequently are either run out of town, or wander into the Worldwound, never to be heard from again. A few cause a bit more trouble, and end up in manacles, tossed in a dungeon for a bit. But we have had one such person recently that, just this morning, become something more troublesome.

The mad woman known as Mina has been roaming the streets of Kenabres for a few weeks, spouting the typical End of Days mantra. Strangely, none of the many knightly orders or mercenaries have dealt with the problem. So it was this morning, that when a Knight of the Rampant Lion approached her, onlookers thought it would be handled. The knight spoke to her low, then grabbed her arm, trying to pull her in a direction. The waif of a lass, little more than skin and bones beneath her robes and ragged armor, screeched and flailed against him, fighting furiously to escape. She eventually got her hand on the lengthy wooden pole from which she carries a bundle of possessions. Whipping it around, the bundle came off, releasing a roughly formed iron skull on the end of the chain. With a demon's strength she struck the knight in the face, shattering his jaw.

He will live, though he will likely never speak properly again. And three more soldiers who saw the altercation and dove in to help stop her also suffered serious injury. And subdue her they did. But that is not the curious, troublesome part. The knight involved was Sir Wilhelm von Wellsheim, son of Baron Albrecht von Wellsheim... and the mad woman Mina is in fact the Baron's long missing daughter, Angelique von Wellsheim - thus making her Wilhelm's sister!

Angelique was the Baron's fourth child with his late wife, and only daughter. His wife Inara, a Varisian woman, had apparently taken ill in the late month's of her pregnancy with Angelique. Though she survived the delivery, and continued to care for her child, within six months her life had passed. The vibrant young baby was too painful a reminder of his late wife for the Baron, and he returned to the active life of his knightly order.

With her mother passed, and her father away (with her brothers in tow), Angelique was raised by the household staff, most notably Madame Venatri, an older Varisian woman whom the Baroness has put in charge of household affairs. She made Angelique her first priority. As a child, the girl was friendly, calm, and gentle. She showed an affinity for flowers and herbs, and her touch and voice were known to be a soothing force for those with ills. And growing, she looked much as her mother had.

When the Baron returned to his estates for the winter, he found his baby girl had grown into a vibrant 9 year old. She was the spitting image of her mother, and for the first time, it warmed the Baron's heart to see her. The following spring, he moved her and much of the household to his second estate, a property he had established in Mendev during his service in the Crusades. There he was able to watch her grow, and she began to form a relationship with not only him, but also her three older brothers.

Most interestingly, in the next few years, her soothing touch took a step further. It would seem she was able to mend minor wounds others had suffered. The Baron was astonished, and took Angelique to meet with several clergy within the Church of Iomedae. They believed it a divine gift from their deity, and requested she be sent to a Convent where her gifts could be fostered. The Baron agreed, and at 13 Angelique was sent to the Convent of the Cruciform Vow, where the Sisters of the Radiant One hoped to unlock her potential.

I was unable to extract any information from Mina regarding her time in the Convent, and have sent a messenger to the Convent itself for a report, but trust that will take some days to return. What is known is that shortly after her fifteenth birthday, Angelique disappeared one night from her chambers. There was no sign of struggle, and not a trace of how she left. The Baron was notified, and he and his sons scoured the countryside seeking her for months, but to no avail. Divinations were cast by both the clergy and hired arcanists, but none could find a detail to her wherabouts. That was four years hence.

So, to the present moment. We now hold the mad woman Mina, or rather Lady Angelique von Wellsheim, within a cell in the Kite. Four men lay in the infirmary waiting wounds to mend, and only by the grace of Iomedae are they still even alive. Mina has raved about the end of days for some time, prophesizing an impending doom. In my questioning of her earlier, she ranted about the shattering of Kenabres to come, and leading to the cleansing of the Boneyard in the hearafter. She is clearly deranged. The girl is clearly touched, having lost most of her mind. Magical investigation will help to determine if this is some curse placed upon the girl. And if it is, how do we try the case? Baron von Wellsheim is a ranking knight within his order, and if we prosecute his only daughter, just discovered alive, he will likely withdraw his considerable force.
There is much to consider, and more than one life hangs in the balance. Luckily, the girl is safely held for now, and Armasse starts on the morrow. We will give her a few days, perhaps it is an enchantment that will wear off while we take the time to renew our vows. We shall see what comes.

Background Questions:

1. What is your character’s name?
Mina / Prophet of the Gray Sign / Harbinger of Groetus / Angelique von Wellsheim

2. How old is your character?
Age is but an aspect of time, and time is immaterial, for all things shall end... (19 yrs old)

3. What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?
Mina is of a surprisingly slight build considering her unbridaled strength. She barely reaches more than a few inches over five feet, with a fit, athletic frame. Her lustrous raven hair is generally worn loose and wild, with locks of it cascading down before her face. Her northern ancestry is evident in her alabaster skin, and pale ice blue eyes. She appears to wear dark eyeshadow, though whether this is in fact makeup, is simply dirt, or is some kind of malady is unclear. Mina wears a pale gray half dress with dark gray pants below. She is frequently found with a suit of scale armor atop the dress, and has been known to wear a dark crimson cloak. She can wield a variety of weapons, but most commonly have a brutal, two handed flail. Also often at her side is a heavy, short bladed falx.

4. What additional attributes would be noticed upon meeting the character (i.e. Speech, mannerisms)?Mina speaks in an educated yet erratic manner. One moment, she can be having a logical debate on a number of topics, the next she will be raving about the End of Days. She also is prone to rhyming within her sentences.

5. Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who?
Mina was born in her family's estate in southern Ustalav. After being raised there until her 9th year by the family's servants (most notably Goodlady Venatro), father had her brought to Mendev to a second family estate. At 13 she was sent to the Convent of the Cruciform Vow to be tutored by the Sisters of the Radiant One, but disappeared from the convent shortly after her 15th birthday. Her whereabouts for the last  four years are a mystery.

6. Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living?
Mina, or Angelique von Wellsheim as she is properly named, is the youngest child and only daughter of Baron Albrecht von Wellsheim and the late Baroness Inara von Wellsheim. Albrecht is a landed noble of Ustalav, but has spent the last thirty years mostly away from his lands, fighting as a Knight of the Rampant Lion. His order currently serves on the front lines in Mendev against the hordes of the Worldwound. Baroness Inara was a lovely, kindly Varisian woman who fell in love with Albrecht when he was a young, gallant knight. She passed in the months following Mina's birth.

7. Do you have any other family or friends?
Mina (Angelique) has two brothers, Wilhelm and Radrecht, who both serve in the Knights of the Rampant Lion alongside their father. There was a third brother, Kordrun, but he went missing in the Worldwound two winters hence. Goodlady Venatro, the head of the Wellsheim household (first in Ustalav, then in Mendev) could be considered the closest thing to a maternal figure that young Angelique had.

8. What is your character’s marital status? Kids?
Mina is the beloved of Groetus, and seeks no worldly companionship, nor will waste not one hour in raising children with the end of times so near.

9. What is your character’s alignment?
Chaotic Evil

10. What is your character’s moral code?
Mina's existence is dedicated to seeing the End Time come to fruition. But rather than the raving lunatic who simply tries to kill every person she sees, she understands that for the world to truly end will take a monumental effort, combining the strengths and capabilities of many destructive forces. As such, she generally does not engage in random acts that would interfere with her long term goals. In fact, she can be quite amenable to people who would seek a similar path, and sees the cultists of both Baphomet and Deskari, and the demons of the Worldwound, as just the kind of evil power capable of destroying existence.

11. Does your character have goals?
to bring about the End Times and fulfill Groetus' purpose.

12. Is your character religious?
Mina is the Harbinger of Groetus, one of his holy vessels on Golarion, bent on seeing his will be done.

13. What are your character’s personal beliefs?
Mina believes she is a divine vessel sent forth by Groetus, to sow the seeds that will bring about the End of Days. She sees this as the ultimate step in the cosmic circle of life and death, for it is known that from Groetus' final destruction, the next birth of reality will come. She is happy to enjoy each moment, knowing that each moment can never be relived, and is one less along the way to the ultimate moment of ecstacy, the End of Days.

14. Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?
When not doomsaying, Mina is a surprisingly kind and pleasant person. She disdains rudeness and arrogance, and is morbidly optimistic about her utterly fatalistic view on existence. She does tend to get a bit paranoid around the self-righteous devotees of 'Crusading Gods', most notably Iomedae and Sarenrae, which can often cause her fits of prophecy to increase.

15. Why does your character adventure?
Mina does not adventure. She is the Harbinger of Groetus, it is her solemn duty to work about bringing the End Time.

16. How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer?
Mina exists for a singular purpose - to bring about the End Time. To that end, adventuring is more than a job, more than a calling, it is her godly ordained duty while she still breathes air.

17. Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)?
Mina bears a circular birthmark upon the front of her left shoulder. Looking closely, there are several dark spots, that viewed even more carefully, could eerily be the sigil of Groetus. She also bears a small scar across her left eyebrow from a childhood injury. Finally, she much of her clothed skin actually carries innumerable tattoos containing the most important parts of the Book of the Last Moon, the holy text of Groetus.

18. How does your character get along with others?
Despite her doomsaying nature, Mina is actually quite personable when not foretelling the doom of existence. She knows that she will need highly capable individuals to help bring about the End of Days, and so seeks to foster positive relationships with such individuals.

19. Is there anything that your character hates?
Mina is driven by divine purpose, and thus despises those who would interfere with her calling. She hates being restrained, and will lash out at one who tries to do so - the source of this comes from the 'sessions' performed upon her at the convent by the Iomedaen sisters.

20. Is there anything that your character fears?
Mina is driven by divine purpose - to be denied the chance, or worse, to fail in her calling from Groetus would be the worst thing that could possibly happen to her.
