Mikhail is a young (47 years old) male dwarf monk of Irori. He prominently displays her holy symbol on a necklace. Unlike most dwarves, he is not particularly stocky. His martial training have taken their toll and he resembles a short, thick human in build more than a dwarf. He keep his beard shaved into a fairly tidy goatee when possible. When violence is called for, Mikhail prefers to be up close and personal, making terribly strong attacks with his feet, elbows, and fists. He loves his Punishing Kick ability, and normally tosses in an insult after landing such a blow. The only weapons he carries are brass knuckles made of various metals and a few shuriken. He carries a large backpack stuffed to the gills with various items. He prefers to be prepared.

Mikhail comes from the longtime mining family, the Tunnelsmiths. He figured out at an early age that he did not want to join the family business after watching his father toil the dangerous underground carbauxine mines at the Gas Forges in Riddleport. He did take after his family's strong physical characteristics, and grew up sturdy and strong.

His attention was given more to one of the more exciting areas in Riddleport, Zincher's Arena. He attended the gladiator battles whenever he could. His face eventually became recognized at the arena and he made friends with several of the gladiators, particularly a human combatant, Waltor, who introduced him to the teachings of Irori, and the pursuit of self perfection. Waltor taught the young dwarf how to channel power through his blows, especially with his kicks. After Mikhail got the basics down, Waltor began teaching him more difficult arts to master, the idea of using ki, and the ability to harvest ki from others to make your own ki stronger, leading more closely to self perfection. Irongleg took to the belief immediately, even if the lesson was beyond him for the time being.

He eventually became a bit of an errand boy for Clegg Zincher, the owner of the arena. Mikhail was not bothered by the work for the most part, but after a period of time, has become convinced that doing the unsavory things Clegg expected was no way to achieve the personal goals of self awareness he wanted. Unfortunately, his errands for Zincher have harmed his relationship with Waltor, who did not like the work the young dwarf was doing, which led to a falling out.

As such, he has recently left he employ of Zincher. Zincher's network has far reaching tendrils, so work has been slow for the dwarf. He has heard about the upcoming card tourney at the Gold Goblin, and knowing he could help keep the card cheats at bay with his strong senses, has plans to apply for a spotter position for the tourney.
