Male Human Swordsman 1

Mikel kicks a rock down the lonely road.

Male Human Swordsman 1

Lots of travel this week, so posting while continuing may be spotty.

Male Human Swordsman 1

"So what's our next step". "I'm all for leaving these dirty peasants to their curse, and heading onward". "Doesn't seem to be much profit here".

Male Human Swordsman 1

"So a singer in the woods". "I wonder if other animals are affected by this"? "Perhaps we could use one to lead us to this "singing".

"Ohhh, let's go watch". "I believe Seleste is going to talk some bull".

Male Human Swordsman 1

Mikel watches the man pack with interest. "So". "Leaving town are you"? "I'm sure you don't have room to take everything with you, so if you have some stuff unspoken for, I'll be glad to guard it for you". "And if you need someone to house sit until you return...well...

Male Human Swordsman 1

"Well I guess we have three options". "Step up the defense of the village, and try to take them here". "Try to track them, and look for the source of their anger". "Or, move on to our next destination, and leave them to fend for themselves". "I am good with either choice".

"In the mean time, I'm going to walk about the village, and see if I can detect anything...unusual".

Male Human Swordsman 1

"Focus old man". "I'm asking if the attacks, and strange behavior of the beasts has happened before". "And if so, how were they averted". "Obviously your silly scarecrow statues, aren't working, so we can't help if you don't remember".

Mikels interrupted sleep, and lack of a decent breakfast have obviously made him grumpy.

"Now tell me what you know about this...Hollow man...

"Aye". "What she said". "Also, can you recall any tales of this happening before, and what might have caused that"?

Mikel finally drags out of bed, convinced that nobody is going to let him get his proper rest. Wow farming villages are noisy places.

He then stumbles outside finding some of his group missing. "I hope they're off gathering pork, and eggs". He then wanders into town to look for a new tale.

Mikel turns his head towards the wall, and pulls his pack over his ears at the approach. "Be Quiet". "It's still dark". "Wake me in a couple of hours for breakfast". "I'll have pork and hen eggs".

Male Human Swordsman 1

"Yes". "Let's try and get some sleep for the night, then visit this Pappy Atica tomorrow, to see if he can shed any light on the situation.

Male Human Swordsman 1

"That my comrade is a good question indeed". "Is there someone here who might know of legends and history of the village? "Maybe someone really old, but still about their wits"? "Perhaps if you have no objections we could make ourselves useful, and look about the village for clues".

Male Human Swordsman 1

Mikel ceases his song. "How do you know that"? "Maybe they were just hungry".

Spoiler:

You can guess why he is choosing this time to sing...

Taking aim at one of the fast moving wolves, Mikel aims and looses.

Wolves...I hate wolves...weird that they would attack a village though. Must be really hungry...or mad.

"Ah". "This reminds me of a song I once heard". Mikel then begins belting out a chorus of "Wolf in Sheeps Clothing", as he draws his shortbow, picking out a target by the flickering light.

Male Human Swordsman 1

Yep. Would be fun, but might as well mothball it till things change.

Male Human Swordsman 1

Should we just shut this game down? Seems to be nothing happening?

Male Human Swordsman 1

Any idea when we might get things going again?

No Problem. We're still in the beginning stages anyway.

Male Human Swordsman 1

Seeing the preparations being made, Mikel takes the time to don his fancy armor, humming nervously to himself as he does so.

Mikel sets up in his bed. He had been snoozing fitfully around these new strangers anyway.

"What is it"? "Did I hear something"?

Mikel rises to his feet, reaching for his sword.

Male Human Swordsman 1

"That bull sounds dangerous". "It's already killed a man". "I'll go with you if you don't mind in case things get ugly".

Male Human Swordsman 1

As he is replacing his fiddle in it's case, his performance superseded by the meal, Mikel stops at the crone's words. "Wait". "Is that the farm I passed on the way in, with all the funeral signs about"? "And you're saying that all the animals are acting strange"?

Male Human Swordsman 1

MIkel turns and reaches for Niklos's hand for a firm handshake. "Ah my good man Niklos". "A pleasure to meet you". "And as a member of the noble class I am indeed at your service". Mikel finishes with a sweeping bow.

With a twinkling eye Mikel winks at Seleste as she steps away..."Ah". "Fortunately the creator has blessed me with more than one kiss". "And calluses don't distract from your beauty".

Then bowing just as lowly and with a sly smile, Mikel also takes Seleste's hand and kisses it just as suggestively". "It is a pleasure to meet you all". "Since we seem to be sharing an abode we shall become quick friends". "I don't suppose any of you have any wine to celebrate the occasion". "The variety here is not to my liking, and I'm fresh out".

Mikel takes a step back at the ladies brashness, then seems to firm himself up. With a bow and a flourish..."Ah yes". "Um". "Sir Mikel Jaggare, at your service". He then clumsily reaches for her hand to bestow a kiss upon it. If she allows it he will kiss her hand, holding it a bit too long before looking up and meeting her eyes. If she jerks her hand away, he will give her a wounded look, then proceed with introductions.

He then turns to the others, and making sure his fine sword is displayed... "Welcome". "I'm sure you, like I am used to finer surroundings, but at least it's safe and dry".

Male Human Swordsman 1

Curiosity finally overcoming him, Mikel lays down his fiddle to mark his spot and walks to the door of the barn, peeking out to see who has arrived...You can never be to cautious.

Mikel entered the barn when he saw the new arrivals come into town. He checked his horse to make sure it wasn't dead or anything, then retrieving his bed roll, he looked for the most comfortable place to sleep, and laid out his bedroll, making sure to take most of the freshest and best smelling hay before laying out his roll.

He then sit down on his bed, and began going through his practice scales on his fiddle, only hitting a sour note every now and then.

Male Human Swordsman 1

Mikel is ready to begin a life of adventuring. His history is still a bit hazy at the moment, but he is ready to write his present, and live his future.
