Seeing the Vault prepared, Mnesoset glides to Nyctessa's side to help investigate the Lair. It's protected by some sort of animated paper, but she's able to draw on enough of Athnul's muscle memory to fend it away, and draw whatever latent spiritual power gave it it's sad, false life.

Athnul's priest points out to Mnesoset that the now lifeless scroll does in fact contain a magical text. She chafes at her inability to access Athnul's seemingly locked away divine resources, but the infusion power is enough for her to interpret the writings. She hangs on to it in case the others can make better use of it than she.

She turns just in time to see Athnul's simian companion trip over a staff; she dodges it as it flies across the room and manages to grab it before it knocks the delicate sculptures around them onto her head. "Useless toy. This room is hiding it's secrets from me."
