OK, I decided to chronicle my AoW campaign and share my notes with the world.
The basics: I'll be starting play april 8th and I should have 5 players. We'll be playing on alterning weekends and the campaign will be set in the Eberron setting.
I've already set up a few infrastructures for player communications: a message board for the players and a wiki to act as a player guide/campaign journal for the players. The message board is private and the wiki is in French (you're welcomed to e-mail me to check out the wiki but be warned that if you can't read French I will NOT translate it).
My first worry is: there no cleric in the group. the group consists of:
- W.G. who plays a shifter Barbarian.
- P.L. who plays a Warforged Artificer.
- E.L.C. who is hesitating between a khalashtar psion and an elf sorcerer.
- M.E.L. who is probably playing a changeling bard but she's yet to make up her mind firmly.
- M.E.N. who plays a changeling rogue.
I'm half-expecting a TPK in the Three faces of Evil adventure.
I've told the players that the action starts in Diamond Lake and i'd like for them to have a reason to live there and so far I'm 0 in three backgrounds I've received so far. So some tapdancing is needed for me to bind the group together.
I was originally miffed at having a warforged in the party because I didn't see the Kyuss worms doing much damage until I read the magical word: wormforged. I'll probably introduce them slowly. Probably foreshadow them in some of Filge's correspondance.
To do List:
- Draw some maps for the whispering cairn to use minis in combat
- Paint a couple of minis for characters usage
- have a sitdown with M.E.L. to see what she will finaly play.
- Contact E.L.C. to see if she made up her mind for her char.
- have a "set-up" one-on-one session with each players to get them involved.
- lay my hands on a mini suitable for a "swarm" or failing that, make some swarm tokens.
