Background
Mestin was one part of a pack that lived deep in the Fangwood, until one day blighted fey appeared in the area. While he and his pack tried to flee, he was the only one to survive long enough for a druid to arrive and drive the fey off. This druid, named Iozif, nursed Mestin back to health, and eventually took him on as an animal companion.

Iozif was apparently a lonely man, for he took to talking to his companion quite a bit, even giving him a human-sounding name. Eventually he did something strange, a ritual... and suddenly Mestin found himself understanding his master's words, thinking thoughts he never had before.

His master explained that he would be leaving, and Mestin would be on his own soon. But before he left, he would teach the wolf something of the ways of humans. And so he did... until one day, Mestin awoke and Iozif was gone.

Fortunately for the very confused, recently Awakened wolf, he soon stumbled across a familiar acquaintance of his master. After speaking with him Mestin decided to travel with him, and after some time the two traveled to Phaendar.

Appearance
Mestin is a large gray-furred wolf, visibly more muscular than average, with an ugly scar on his left hind leg.
