Armor Expert You have worn armor as long as you can remember, either as part of your training to become a knight's squire or simply because you were seeking to emulate a hero.

Aura of Good (Ex) You project a faint good aura.

Bonus Feat Humans select one extra feat at 1st level.

Detect Evil (Sp) At will, you can use Detect Evil, as the Spell.

Lost Nobility Your family was prominent before the rise of Thrune, but that legacy is now forgotten by all but you. You hold every Chelish government official (including Hellknights) personally responsible for your lost glory. You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack and damage rolls against these officials.

Skilled Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.

Smite Evil (Su) You can call out to the powers of good to aid you in your struggle against evil.

BACKSTORY

Max Crispin's family was a minor noble house in Cheliax before the infernal pact was struck between the House of Thrune and Asmodeus. They refused to break allegiance with Iomedae, but for survival sake, worshiped in secret. After years of refusing to break their moral code, the family found themselves stripped of all titles and land and of most possessions. They ended up working a simple merchants in Egorian. They still met with fellow followers of Iomedae in secret as they could.

During this time Max's father, Morris, met and fell in love with a cleric of Iomedae and soon married. Morris was happy with this new life as a merchant, husband and father, he barely remembered noble life.

Max's grandfather, Norris, however, remembered his childhood life well, before the infernal pact, and would often regale Max with tales of splendor and riches. Max respected the piety of his parents, but also longed to regain the glory and privilege of his family's noble past.

When Max was still a boy, a violent pogrom swept Egorian of those who secretly still refused to honour Asmodeus. Norris was brutally struck down by Hellknights. Morris held them off long enough for Max and his mother to flee Egorian.

Max's mother fled with Max to Lastwall, where they finally found themselves able to live and worship openly among fellow followers of Iomedae. Here Max learned to be a true paladin of Iomedae. As he came of age he decided Lastwall's never-ending fight against the orcs of Belkzen was not his fight. Still burning with vengeance against the devils that took over his homeland, he joined the Silver Crusade faction of the Pathfinder Society, hoping he can bring some good to the Inner Sea.
