M Human (Mwangi) Druid of Gozreh 1
Mawimbi, with Mkutubi trailing him, spends his days high above the deck amid the many lines of the rigging. He revels in the salty breeze and communion with the sea, while his furry friend has donned a bandanna and a vest, making him look, from a distance, like a squat and furry sailor. Together, they carefully replace spreaders and shroud lines using Mawimbi's carpenter skills and judicious applications of the mending spell. Activities:
Mawmimbi seeks to ingrain himself in the crew by making himself invaluable to the riggers. The addition of an extra set of hands to haul and hold rope, plus the return of his magic (mending in particular) should hopefully work well with his daily chores. He also would start taking opportunity to assert his toughness. Any challenge from knife throwing, to diving, to eating disgusting foods (purify food and water?) that makes him seem tough. He'd like to implant the idea that he's a savage cannibal type, while making sure his small group of companions know his true character. Additionally, his main goal is to get to know the ins and outs of the rigging, particularly the vulnerable spots. At some point, he fears he might have to escape from the ship, so he may start planning out his sabotage. In particular, he's trying to figure the fewest lines that could be weakened (or cut completely) that it would take to disable the ship for the longest duration. He won't start the process, but just figuring out which lines would be best to disable would be helpful. Also, the plan would include making sure that the stores of rope could be easily jettisoned overboard, making repairs doubly hard.

Those who walk in faith with Gozreh are granted small boons, like the spell I just cast, my misbegotten friend. To those with great patience, come great rewards. speaks the jungle man, in a perfectly accentless voice. He leans down and whispers I fear for this ship. It's captain and officers are not in sync with nature. A well run ship skims the sea in harmony. It doesn't take a prophet to see that such overtly unlevel actions will draw this ship to Davy Jones's locker before long. When trouble comes, I intend to find you and our small band and live. he proffers his hand, slightly stained with his own blood, to see if the small man agrees.

Mawimbi laughs, coughing slightly in pain. He runs his hand over his injured back, covering it in blood. He then proceeds to lick the blood from his fingers, saving enough to mark two red lines under his eyes. He then stops to pray to Gozreh.
He drinks his rum: Rum:

M Human (Mwangi) Druid of Gozreh 1
Mawimbi calls out to his friend; tells him to stay calm. If the quartermaster is around, he would stop in to talk about the ape- if he had time. If not, he would tell his friend (through the wall) not, absolutely NOT, to bite off any fingers- even for fun. (Emphasis added to make sure the quartermaster knew he was serious).

Magic lady. Next time, we tell him I eat human heart. Mawimbi jokes, patting Seherzada on the head. In game of pirates, you win or you die. Unnecessary pain, unneeded death be an imbalance in nature- not Mawimbi's style. Hey, a guy's gotta get his street cred somehow. As part of his actions today, Mawimbi would take the time to pray in the sea air (when he's not being yelled at) in order to replace hydraulic push with air bubble for the day. I have a feeling Mawimbi is cruisin' for a keelhaullin'.

The Mwangi slices a handful of hairs off the face of the bully, and then reverses the dagger and thrusts it into the wood of the boat, inches from the other pirate's head. This is enough to secure the geas. We no have to kill you, just wait for magic to do its work. With a grin: You should clean yourself, Scourge will be wondering where we're at, and it is too long and hot of a day to stink like piss. I suggest you find a mop as well. The druid sheathes his dagger, pockets the hairs for his pretend voodoo ritual, and hauls the prone pirate up. He's careful not to get any of the urine on him.

Sense motive untrained 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 You choose... poorly. says the druid, as he presses the blade against the prone pirates neck. Has he shaved, bearded, or some other stage of unkempt facial hair? Too bad he's bald, Mawimbi would have taken his hair. The druid slides the blade up along the neck carefully, trimming any stray hairs that may be left. He pauses, nicks the the blade against the pirate's cheek, and licks a drop of blood from the dagger. Hold still, this will only sting for a moment. He stoops down He makes it look like he's about to kill the bully: Bluff 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Me think you may have tried to bite more than you can eat. In my tribe, such insolence is repaid by life debt- 1,001 days of service to the man who spares your life. You won't be touching any of us again. Mawimbi smiles a bright white smile, but his eyes are hard.

GM Agent and casters: Question about wake up/sleeping with memorizing spells. Mawimbi would likely memorize his spells at dawn, preferably on the deck between sea and air. Are they locked into the cabin? Do they wake the group before dawn?
For now, he's got his pre-memorized spells (he never used them), but in the future that'd be a good question to address.
M Human (Mwangi) Druid of Gozreh 1
The format does seem pretty daunting.
For example, Mawimbi was going to retrieve his holy symbol from the quartermaster, but it was gone. So he didn't take anything. Now knowing that he was given it earlier in the day, he would have changed his night action... but instead it would be perfectly fine if GM ruled the action stands, but he was able to steal something else of use to another group member.

Little man, you eat cow. You eat pig. You eat fish. Oran-u-tan not monkey, oran-u-tan ape like you and me. He eat monkey like you eat fish. Circle of life. Gozreh keep balance. You eat animals, but when you die you give yourself back to the circle. Your pirate queen- she tell you to prey on weaker ships, but if you get weak- you be prey. Pirate queen no different than Gozreh- she part of the circle. After a moment. You meet Mkutubi, you like Mkutubi. He smart like man. He strong like man. He climb like man. He friend, not food, and not beast like some animals. Gozreh send him to me, bring us here on boat. Balance must be kept, on sea- like on land. In a low voice, just between the two of them Balance not right here. Captain not right. Your queen tell you this, no? As for the timeline: It'll work out. GM Agent has a tough job, but I'm sure he'll line us up right. Lucky- I didn't even see that you'd handed me back my symbol! Awesome. His holy symbol in hand, Mawimbi thanks his new friend and casts Light on it, just to feel the connection to his god.
M Human (Mwangi) Druid of Gozreh 1
Multiple timelines are tripping me out. I think I may attempt a paradoxical time loop. The discussion at dinner would likely modify my movements at night: either Mawimbi'd look for the 'monkey' or help his fellows retrieve more of their gear. Or rescue a turtle. Or make some rat friends. Upon hearing the word "monkey" Mawimibi almost jumps from his seat. Monkey? You mean Oran-u-tan. Big. Orange, with white stripe? He Mkutubi. He friend. He no monkey. He eat monkey. Mawimbi says, thumping his fist to his chest. He pronounces the name of the animal haltingly with his accent, and looks excited that his friend might be be found on the ship.

Mawimbi drinks the rum, and changes his decision to try and sleep under the stars, in order to get more acquainted with his fellows despite his sstandoffish nature. After observing the flogging, he realizes that his first goal should be to retrieve his missing symbol of Gozreh, a simple miniature conch shell decorated with tiny druidic symbols and secured with a simple leather strap. To a nonworshiper it would have no value, but returned it could be used to heal those lash wounds. If possible, the druid will try to barter services with the quartermaster for it; perhaps he has a broken item that could be mended with magic? drinky drinks: Charisma 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Duration 1d8 ⇒ 3 Con damage 1d2 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Nonlethal dmg 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Pace: It's summer, and I'm on 'vacation' right now, so I'm able to post a little more. I like the pace, and I'd be afraid faster paced would eventually lead to me, or another player, getting left behind. Animal companion: I'll admit, I had the worst time deciding on a companion (and if I wanted to go the more magic route). So, I picked a rather silly one. Mkutubi means "librarian" in Swahili, so I was naturally thinking of Terry Pratchett's orangutan librarian "the Librarian" from the Discworld series. The Librarian

work: Mawimbi ignores the taunt, and begins his climb. No day action but diligent work. Does that get a bonus on both the climb and the profession check, or just the profession check? Climb check1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Do I need 1 check for climbing or 3? I knew I should have given him profession sailor instead of carpentry! Could he carpenter up a pully system or something to make the check easier? Either way, he's off to work. Night action: Explore the deck. If possible, Mawimbi prefers to sleep under the stars. I take it that his orangutan missed the boat, and won't be sailing along with the crew?

Question for GM Agent: Druids typically use a spring of holy or some other sacred plant as a divine focus. Would seaweed or a shell of some sort work for Mawimbi? If so, was that taken from him? Also, he picked 'eschew materials' as a feat. Does such divine focus count as less than 1gp, and thus not be required? Ultimately, I'm asking if Mawimbi could cast light right now, and explore the room. He's mostly concerned with finding the ape.

Knowledge nature 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 Oil o' taggit. A cheap way to lay a man flat, at least temporarily. We're at sea. Mawimbi rasps, his throat raw. His first concern is to look around for his companion, Mkutubi. Is there a porthole? Did the beast follow his friend to the ship and sneak aboard?
M Human (Mwangi) Druid of Gozreh 1
Mawimbi drinks little but eats meat with gusto. He dines alone, none of the more flashy patrons approach the tall jungle walker, with his eerie white tattoos. He leaves his meal briefly to check on his companion who remained outside; the orangutan had nestled himself comfortably in the eaves of the inn. As a prank, some young pirates poured two spoonfuls of salt into his cup of water in order to test the notion that the druid drinks from the sea as most land lubbers would from a well. Upon returning, Mawimbi drains his drink and asks for another, much to the shock of the guffawing observers.
