Marwood of Gondor is the grandson of the sister of one of the prior Stewards of Gondor, though he knows it not; records of his bloodline was lost when Minas Tirith was ravaged during the war. His father fought and survived the battle at the black gate, and told him many stories about the horrible things witnessed that day. His father is still surprised he survived to this very day.
Marwood was sent away from home to learn the ways of armored combat. Inheriting his father's grim demeanor, and while he became an excellent knight of Gondor, he feels strangely out of place in a world where evil had already been destroyed.
Still, there were pockets of monstrous things to be found and cut down. That would have to do for him.

Marwood is a tall man, standing over 6 feet 4 inches tall. He has broad shoulders and a sturdy frame. He is in superb physical health and has the build of someone who does regular endurance training.
Marwood has thick, chestnut brown hair that he keeps cut at the nape of his neck. His sharp amber eyes peer out through slightly darkened lids, as though he never really gets enough sleep. Though he regularly shaves he always seems to possess a 5 o'clock shadow.
His equipment, though used and showing signs of wear, are kept in prime condition. Each scale has been checked and polished, the buckles shined, and the leather oiled and cared for. His sword is sharp, though scratches along the sides of the blade show it has been through several confrontations. Even his backup weapons show signs of being well cared for.
His tabard has numerous creases, holes, and tears in it, marring the washed out symbol of a noble house to the point it is nearly unrecognizable. It has been kept clean, however, and shows signs of rudimentary stitching.
