Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Just realized Marcus hasn't acted yet. Wish I had known more about the CLeric list when we started this because a Readied action to use Soul Bind here would be rad. Don't have the right gemstone for it though.

Marcus uses his Divine Metamastery, then drops a Maximized Empowered Mythic Firestorm over the whole battlefield.

"Burn babies burn! We're havin' calamari tonight!"

Spell resistance: 2d20 ⇒ (5, 8) = 13 +33 to bypass SR is 41 result, barely overcoming Cthulhu's SR I believe.

Using 2 MP to exclude Humanoids from harm. Everyone that's not humanoid in 42 total 10 ft. cubes (so...this whole room, basically) takes 240 damage. Reflex for half damage and to avoid being caught on fire and taking a further 36 fire damage every round until they spend a full-round to extinguish it. Half of this damage is Fire, and half of it is Divine and bypasses all fire resistance or immunity.

Initiative: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Get outta my head!

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Marcus shudders at the sight, sorely tempted to just close his eyes and let his Echolocation paint a less disturbing picture of the room, but thinks Maybe that's what it wants. Maybe that's when it will strike from beyond my view..

Unconsciously, his body begins to writhe again, as it hasn't done for so long now, the many forms beneath his skin churning for release in reaction to this sight.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Marcus Will: 1d20 + 39 ⇒ (3) + 39 = 42

Marcus' newfound unwavering confidence in himself allows him to shrug off the insanity with minimal effort.

Marcus, meanwhile, starts loading up with buffs.

Self only: Shapechange (Current Form: Troll), Resist Energy x4 (Fire/Electricity/Cold/Sonic), Freedom of Movement, Greater Spell Immunity (Insanity, Feeblemind, Demand, Destruction, Disintegrate, Weird), Shield, See Invisibility, Fly, Echolocation (boosted to 24 hours), Nine Lives

Whole Party + Self: Protection from Chaos, Fly, Invisibility (why not?), Communal Resist Energy x5 (All Elements)

"That could also be arranged."

"I could give you True Seeing in the hopes that you'd go so insane you'd come full circle?"

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Even Marcus has the good grace to feel apprehension at the sight of Cthulhu's citadel.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends..." he mutters under his breath.

"I suppose we should prepare for battle. Is there any particular magic besides the usual you want me to put up?"

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Marcus rubs his temples, a headache building.

"I barely understand Euclidean geometry, and now this?"

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

"Thanks, Daisy."

Marcus floats off in the direction of the hedge maze.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Marcus floats that way and cracks one open, remembering at the last minute to shift back into a human so as to avoid crushing everyone else.

He drinks for a minute.

"Anybody know where Marie is?"

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

"You guys got any more of them beers?"

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

"Man, we're great. Not only have we defeated most of the Old Ones, we've cut the heads off the Mexican drug cartels! I'm not sure which will be missed less..."

Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (20) + 38 = 58
Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (9) + 38 = 47

Pretty sure a 58 nukes the Marilith's SR.

As Radsworth comes through his portal to the Mexico City side, he must succeed on a DC 18 Fortitude save vs Medusa's petrifying gaze....

Medusa fires poisoned arrows from her longbow at Marcus-dragon 1d20+13 dealing 1d8 piercing, plus poison 1d4 Constitution damage, Fortitude save DC 18 negates....

Second shot 1d20+8 misses!

Fort: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19

Reflex: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Surge on Reflex 2: 1d10 ⇒ 4

Marcus shrugs off the poison. He is not so lucky with the first Flame Strike.

"Aaaach!"

He transforms into a Brass Dragon this time, moves to within 75 feet of his targets, and Fire Storms everyone he can that isn't an ally.

Which, with 20 10 ft. squares, is everyone, I think.

Reflex save DC 31 halves 20d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 5, 5, 1, 2, 1, 2, 5, 1, 1, 2, 6, 1, 1, 1, 2, 6, 6) = 58 damage, and anyone that fails catches fire and takes 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 5) = 22 damage per round.

Michael Johnson 66 wrote:
I know it's probably hard to picture the battlefield without a battle mat, but the closest targets to the portal are the two naga archons, standing 10 feet in front of the portal and ten feet from each other. The two snake-headed balors stand about 20 feet laterally from each of the two naga archons and about 30 ft from each side of the 10-ft-diameter portal. The two serpentfolk priests stand about 20 ft behind the naga archons and about 40 ft from the portal. Medusa stands about 60 ft from the portal and has line of sight to it between the naga archons. The four mariliths are about 80 ft from the portal, forming a line roughly 70 ft wide, with about 10 ft between each. The four aghasura asura stand in a line about 70 ft wide, with about 10 ft between each, staggered with the mariliths so all have unobstructed views of the portal, and about 60 ft from the portal, with Medusa in between the middle two. The four drug lords stand in a close cluster about 80 ft back from the portal and about 30 ft to one side of the marilith line. Yig is coiled atop the ziggurat, about 100 ft back from the portal and 200 ft above ground level. All other enemies are in the ground level.

It doesn't look as though I can catch more than two guys. Mind if I change my action to something a little more wide-reaching? Or at least less expensive.

Marcus decides to be a bit reckless, transforming into a Huge Bronze Dragon. He flies to the middle of (but 20 feet above) the combined Marilith/Agasura line, and claps his claws together.

"Hallelujah!"

Holy Word. Everything within a 40 ft. radius/80 ft. diameter (which should be all the Mariliths and Aghasuras, and maybe a few others?) must make a DC 31 Will save.

Edit: Using Inspired Spell to cast this for the +2 CL.

If they are 12 HD or less, they die. Success means they take 3d6 + 22 ⇒ (3, 5, 3) + 22 = 33 damage instead.

If they are 17 HD or less, they are also paralyzed for 1d10 ⇒ 7 MINUTES. Success reduces this to one round.

If they are 21 HD or less, they are also Blinded for 2d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6 rounds. Success reduces that to just the first d4 rounds.

And if they are 22 HD or less, they are also Deafened for 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds. Save negates.

Additionally, any Non-Good Outsider in the area must make a DC 31 Will save (at a -4 penalty) or be instantly banished back to their home plane, where they may not return from for 24 hours.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

I think it's save or be Dazed and Weakened, since we're still 19th level. So if he saves, he takes a 1d6 penalty to Str for 2d4 rounds, or 2d6 penalty if he fails.

Getting back into playing a high level caster after so long is hard.

Marcus will use a Mythic Power to cast Overwhelming Presence, augmented to be Persistent by his Rod and spend another Mythic Power to activate his Mythic Spell Focus.

Spell Penetration: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (1) + 38 = 39
Spell Penetration 2: 1d20 + 38 ⇒ (4) + 38 = 42

Assuming that overcomes most target's SR (though not Yig's, I think), every enemy on the field must make three DC 33 Will saves. Failure of one of them means they are Helpless for the next 22 rounds, success means they are merely staggered for 1d4 ⇒ 1. This is a Mind Affecting Compulsion effect.

"Bow before my awesomeness!"

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Initiative: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

Assuming this is the same day as the Shub-Niggurath fight, everyone still has Protection from Chaos and Communal Stoneskin and maybe Fly, and I put Freedom of Movement, Greater Spell Immunity (Feeblemind, Disintegrate, Destruction, Insanity, and Baleful Polymorph), Shapechange (24 hour duration, current form: Troll), Echolocation, Shield, and See Invisibility on myself.

If it's not...I cast all those things before we move on. =)

"Mexico? That'll give me a chance to brush up on mi espanol." Marcus says, horribly mispronouncing the word.

"Hopefully we'll be able to pull off option A. I've got unfinished business." Marcus says, thinking of his wife.

"Puny Al'Torac. Why can't you be a big dragon, like me?"

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Everyone's airborne thanks to the Caduceus, so it's likely not relevant to anything you're gonna do.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

I don't, but I just realized I have Greater Spell Immunity up, with Insanity as one of the chosen spells. Would that protect me from Shub's Presence? If so, I save my MP.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Will: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (7) + 24 = 31

Marcus burns a Mythic Power for Unstoppable to remove the Confused condition imparted by Insanity.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Ah, didn't realize we were rolling Initiative already. Those rolls up above were Dungeoneering.

"I dunno, smashing the one that's making an army of freaky aberrant babies seems like a better choice to me."

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

To himself, since Marie is a bit out of it:

"I'll try and come back safe, Marie. We've only got a little bit of work left to do before all this is over."

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Marcus likewise casts his usual buffs, Communal Stoneskin, Fly, and Protection from Chaos on everyone.

Echolocation, Greater Spell Immunity (Feeblemind, Disintegrate, Destruction, Insanity, and Baleful Polymorph), Freedom of Movement, Shield, Shapechange (Boosted to 24 hour duration, currently in the form of a Huge Bronze dragon), and See Invisibility on himself.

And I'll post in the Discussion thread what he spent his 150k on in a bit, because I forgot to allocate that.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

"Yeah, it's pretty fu-I mean messed up. But we're trying to fix it. And we'll win, kick that bast- uh evil Cthulhu back where he came from!" he seems reluctant to swear around his wife again now that she's in the flesh and they're no longer in a stressful situation.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

"Well, yeah, I'm nuts! But I'm not lying, I swear!" he calls after her.

"Well, that could have gone worse, I guess." he says dejectedly.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

"Well, I can explain that. You see, you were dead. I brought you back to life! Everything's fixed now, right?" he sounds desperate to believe that.

"I thought we were past this? We worked it out, right? You understood, this whole time, i dodn't mean it, I was crazy! I fixed it! Why now!?!" he screams, but abruptly cuts off as he looks to his right.

Marie's "ghost" waves at him from the place he'd directed her to stand earlier.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Marcus shuts himself in his room for a little while, meditating and gathering his magical energies.

He calls Marie's ghost to stand in front of him, and then recites everything he remembers about her. Her birthday, her favorite color, food, even the wedding vows she said to him.

Once the preparations are complete, he lets the energy flow out of him with surging force. When it is complete, Marie stands there, in the flesh once again.

"I've got you, hon." he says and she staggers and nearly falls.

She recoils from him in shock and fear and scrambles up against the wall of the room.

Marcus:

Marcus blinks at that last line.

"I'm pretty sure that treads dangerously close to copyright infringement, Merlin."

"But yeah, I'm ready to throw down with Shub and Yiggy. Just give me a little while to take care of some business."

He retreats to his room to make some preparations.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Deadly Aim still targets Touch AC. It does nothing to change what firearms target. The distance to him might though. Advanced Firearms are exempt from the "Touch Attacks can't be used with Deadly Aim" rule. Says so in their description.

Perception: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (12) + 23 = 35

Marcus looks around and spots Hastur.

Somewhere. How far away is he?

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Marcus cracks his knuckles.

"All right! Let's get this sucker!" Marcus says, grinning.

Activating Divine Metamastery, all metamagic Feats I know up to a +3 level adjustment are free to use for the next minute.

He points his Caduceus in Hastur's direction and unleashes holy fire on his area.

Maximized Empowered Mythic Piercing Fire Storm. That makes it a 28d8 Fire Storm, Maximized to a flat 224 damage, Reflex save DC 30 for half, and his Fire Resistance only applies to half of it. His SR is 35 for the purpose of this spell.

Spell Resistance 1: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (6) + 27 = 33

Spell Resistance 2: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (11) + 27 = 38

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19

Marcus shrugs.

"Looks real enough to me."

He hits Koran with his Caduceus.

"There ya go big guy."

Koran gets 200 HP back, unless he has Superstition, in which case he needs to make a DC 19 Will save or halve that.

Not 100% sure on the DC 19, just assumed the Caduceus had the minimum casting stat, as per usual.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Also only Arcane casters take the -4 for Feeblemind.

Will vs Feeblemind: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (17) + 16 = 33

"HA HA, JOKES ON YOU, I ALREADY LOST MY BRAIN!"

vs Mass Suggestion: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21

"Dammit." Marcus says as he drops his Caduceus into the sea.

Wait, due to Protection from Evil (and Chaos), we should all be immune to this.

Human Dark Tapestry Oracle 15; Mythic Hierophant Tier 6; HP: 114/114

Could you at least wait until I can act? If this is Round 4 that means I still have Round 2 and 3 actions for Marcus and Sieg.

Round 2: Marcus moves in with the rest of the group, hits Sieg with a Heal. Sieg gets 160 HP back.

Round 3: Marcus moves on to Koran, hitting HIM with a Heal from his Caduceus. Koran gets back 200 HP.

Round 4: TBD
