Once Ommera indicates, she's ready, Ma'oa coils the rope over her shoulder, and spear in hand, dives into the water, swimming effortlessly down toward the overturned boat, keeping a sharp eye out for danger. Shapechange: +2 Con, Swim speed 30ft.

I can swap out between having a swim speed and breathing water if I need to. Standard allows you to hold your breath for 2 rounds per point of Constitution and my Con goes up whenever I do any shift so I can hold it for 32 rounds (just under 6 mins), before I'd need to switch to water breathing.

"That would work, with the rest of you up here to look out for anything approaching while we're down there." Ma'oa agrees.

"Shouldn't be a problem at all!" Ma'oa says, tying the boat off to the pier. "I'll never turn down a chance at a quick swim. I've got about 50ft of silk rope."

Popping up beside the boat, Ma'oa places her spear in before standing up and climbing back in. "Everybody alright?" she asks, looking over her companions for any signs of injury. "We definitely need to be on guard." Taking up the oar again, she sets to rowing to the shore.

Completely at ease in the water, Ma'oa executes an effortless rolling turn, plunging her spear deep into the other grindylow as she deftly avoids its attack. Spear/Aid/Bless vs Red: 1d20 + 3 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 5 + 1 = 26

The fluidity and grace with which Ma'oa moves through the water makes it instantly clear who is the true aquatic predator. Diving below one of the grindylow, she takes advantage of the distraction caused by Ommerra's jab, rising swiftly to skewer the creature on her spear. Setting the oar down, Ma’oa takes a deep breath as a subtle shudder seems to pass over her entire body, her frame seeming to become a bit more flexible while maintaining its power. With a look of focus and a deep breath, she grabs her spear and dives over the side of the boat. Free action: Drop Oar. Standard action: Change Shape (Swim speed of 30 feet). Move action: Dive in down 10ft underwater (grabbing spear) slightly loose interpretation of If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you may draw a weapon as a free action combined with a regular move

Ma’oa enjoyed the trip across the ocean, taking joy in the ocean breeze, the spray in the wind, and falling asleep to the sound of the crashing waves at night. The trip, while relatively uneventful, was definitely educational, seeing which of the new colonists spent most of the journey belowdecks looking green, and which were all excitement and energy…and most interestingly, the few that shifted from one to the other over the weeks. The shallowness of the water, resulting in dropping anchor a way from shore had her excited at the idea of traveling over the water to get to land, something she craved after weeks without a good swim. As Ramona approaches, the concern clear on her face before she even says a word, the ranger rolls her shoulders, understanding that the idyllic voyage part of the expedition was over. Catching the glance from some of the other companions she’d made during the journey, she nods, joining Ramona in the Captain’s cabin.
” Thank you, Ramona, if we have need of them, it’ll be more than appreciated. We don’t know what awaits us so any healing is better than none.” looking at the others as they all agree to join the trip ashore, she mentally takes stock of what she knows of their abilities. A good group. ” We’ll do everything we can to find them and figure out where they went if they are not here. We should have a lot more knowledge when we meet at the rendezvous point.”

The way I looked at it when crafting wands as a druid (even less likely to just gather gold to make stuff) is that the wand has a weird crystal on the end of it, or is made of a wood that's rare and valuable to the lumber industry, or made of a sliver of a rare metal. The GP representing the value someone would assign to the work you put in to obtain it, though for each crafter, that could mean something different.

Probably both. I'm built for both combat and exploration, and some of my class features give buffs to the whole party with a few skills. As far as combat decent damage to start with, have a progressive way to do more damage to big enemies a few times a day, fight well online and even better underwater.
Shifter(Seascarred) Ranger(Guide/Skirmisher) With the Employee campaign trait Daughter of a renowned Grey Corsair Captain, Ma’o was practically raised aboard a ship, exposed to multiple environments around the Inner Sea region from an early age. Upon her mother’s retirement from the Corsairs, and subsequent joining the Bountiful Venture Company, she became a highly sought prospect of the company. Between her knowledge, skills, and a natural bloodline gift of a distant wereshark ancestor, she was recruited and strongly considered for the initial establishment of Talmandor’s Bounty, however it was decided best that she was not included for fear of the appearance of nepotism. When all contact with the colony was lost, and the potential for greater danger was determined, Ma’o was personally assigned to take her orders directly from Ramona Avandth, serving to utilize her skills to guide and protect the new expedition safely through the exploration, and hopefully discover the fate of the previous expedition. Although if I'm picked and someone else also has the Employee trait, her physical stats also support the Athletic trait instead. |
