Hey Everyone,
I've downloaded the Character Pregen folder for the Playtest, but it seems that the Ranger, Bard, Druid, Paladin, Wizard and Monk are missing. Is this deliberate or is there another folder that contains the other half of the classes available that I have missed? Any help would be appreciated.

You could look into "Improved Dirty Trick" instead of going with the tripping line? It lies within the Advanced Player Guide and I can see it working really well with your big, surly half orc. Even in a rp sense.

Thank you for the help. That looks like an awesome combo MrCharisma, however I was thinking about using a feat for Craft Magic Arms and Armour (which will compliment my character's story and help the party). But I do like the idea of Heightened Spell and I may use that instead of Empower Spell. I'm not sure what my character will come up against UnArcaneElection, would you have another idea?

My stats are:
STR 15
DEX 12
CON 13
INT 18
WIS 10
CHA 8

As I said, I'm expecting him to be a front-liner as he would want to protect everyone in the party (and I don't think we have anyone else that'll fill that role).

Hey Kurald,

The Magus Guide you have made is awesome with a lot of content and a heap of information to help someone build a magus. Though much of what you have mentioned I may not use. However, it has given me a lot to think about. I do have a question regarding my lvl 5 bonus feat though, I shall be playing a front line blackblade and I'm tossing up to choose either Empower Spell (metamagic) or Extra Arcane (either wand wielder or arcane accuracy). Which do you think would be a better choice? Or am I barking up a completely different tree and should look at some other alternatives? I am still at lvl 2 with my magus at the moment, so there is still plenty of time to choose. But I like planning ahead.

<spoilers>
Are you discussing about trying to bluff their way through to finding Gelian's house? If that is the case, just say that they won't give information regarding the location of the house until they have brought proof that the apprentices are in danger, because why would you give the address of your employee to complete strangers covered head to toe with weapons?

Edit: Just saw how long ago this thread was sorry, I hope it worked out...

Paladin or Barbarian are probably the best classes for someone with problems understanding the system.

Print your self a character sheet, it shows you what to add to what.
If you fill it in from top to bottom it should work well.
Look up the boni you get from abillities, race, class and equipment while doing so.

I would also like to add the Ranger as it can get you from using weapons and leaning combat until you reach 4th lvl and then you get spells and and perhaps an animal companion. I find it a great way to introduce different ways of playing in stages.

Yeah. Thank you for the help

Hey guys,
I was running an encounter against a Shadow (bestiary 1 pg 245) and one of my PC's casted "Light" upon the Shadow itself with a touch attack. I had the Shadow dissipate for the spell duration.
The question is, would "Light" make a Shadow dissipate or would it have no effect? Help would be most appreciated.
Thank you.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'd like to further echo what the other's before has said; PFS is supposed to be a team based game, not a solo mission. Perhaps a way to avoid headaches would be to talk to your group before the game and see who they are running as before you make your decision?

Same here

Not sure if mentioned already; it's said in the Core Rulebook that when a creature passes beyond 0 they have to keep making constitutions saves to either stabilize or continue to loose health. It's also said creatures not being assisted with these checks (such as heal checks) and left on their own have a very low chance of surviving. This way you can assume the monster is dead without the PC's finishing it off. However an intelligent creature coming back at the PC's with some scars and a deadly grudge later on could be a cool twist...

A class that would be cool to play would be a Fighter/Sorcerer. A character that uses his energy to increase the power of any weapon that they are using and can give it some cool effects. Such as having a spear turning into a dragon made of fire as it passes through an enemy dealing massive damage and adding a burn status to boot.

Ahh, sorry my bad. I thought I posted this in the advise forum. Thank you for

Hey Guys,
I'm semi new to Pathfinder, only casually playing but hopefully I'll start to be running a few games. I have a question regarding Two-Weapon Fighting as well as the Attack bonus for fighting whilst using the two weapons. What I'm using is a Fighter with the Long sword and spiked shield technique. I do have the Two-Weapon Fighting feat and my Attack bonus is +5. If I am attacking, does that make the penalty even for my primary hand (0) and my off hand penalty -2? If not, could someone please enlighten me on how this works?
Thanks Guys.
