Tall and well proportioned, but otherwise his countenance is unremarkable. When not wearing the armor he was meant to have worn for his journey to the Holy Lands, Lucian is dressed in impeccably clean, clothing suitable to landed noble.
History:
Lucian was on the long journey home from his pilgrimage to the Holy Lands to fight in the great crusade of Barbarossa as the child of an important Milanese noble family - Magdalena had other plans. Lucian's Sire had been instructed, by her Sire, to embrace a Childe of significance to further the bloodline and increase the bloodline's reach across the Holy Roman Empire. Drawing in Lucian for Magdalena required little effort, given her grace and beauty it was all too easy to make a young man like Lucian give into her every whim.
Against the orders of his family, Lucian stayed behind when the rest of the caravan heading for home left Venice. He would spend the next few years learning at the feet of his Sire and even occasionally from his Grandsire, Narses. His lineage was beaten into his mind, at times literally - Childe of Magdalena Castelucci Borcellino, who is Childe of Narses, Archbishop of Nod, who is Childe of Galerius, who is of Montano, who is Childe of Lasombra.
Lucian had many moral qualms with what he had become. Why had God forsaken him? Why were mortals made to suffer at his bite as opposed to the unmitigated bliss they seemed to experience at the bite of others of his kind? Ultimately, although not an adherent of the Road as of yet, he chose to follow to his Sire's teachings of the Via Caeli in his own way, punishing unrepentant sinners for their crimes against God, letting them nourish his now immortal body while the terror and agony of his bite while handing down just punishment for their sins.
As per his Sire's and Grandsire's wishes, Lucian has been sent out into the world to further the influence of Narses, to learn what he can about the domain of Prince Jürgen of Magdeburg.
---Depending on how the story ends up going for Lucian, I could see him eventually adopting the Road of Heaven (Path of Retribution) - or I could just as easily see him being an adopter of the Road of Night (Dark Ages: Vampire Storyteller's Companion pg 29). If things go really bad, I could even see him as an early adopter of the modern Path of Night. Which way will he go? Will he stay on the Road of Humanity? Those are questions that can only be answered by the story he is part of.---
