In hiding from an unknown threat within Castle Korvosa following a dire warning from his employer, Seneschal Neolandus Kalepopolis.
Suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, manifesting most pointedly in a near-constant internal battle with his thrush familiar. The thrush is the malignant manifestation of his darkest thoughts and discarded identities, and seems intent on nudging him towards more nefarious, self-serving ends.
Recently met a group of strangers at the behest of a ghost named Zellara, who pointed them in the direction of a pedophile criminal named Gaedren Lamm. Hunting Lamm drudged up long-suppressed memories of this man, who Valamyr (as Ryx) had known many years ago. Gaedren was at least partially responsible for the demise of this persona.
Has learned that Ness recently hired a woman named Taliah, who Lamm claimed sold him an orphan named Tam.
Discovered an ornate brooch belong to Queen Ileosa, which he hopes he will somehow be able to parlay into the end of whatever is threatening him within the castle.
Following the physically and emotionally traumatic evening of hunting down Lamm, has agreed to help Nahzir recover his sister from Examplary Excrables. Has also sworn a solemn vow to Marius to find a boy named Dov, who (per Lamm) is currently on the run for the Cerulean Society.
