In the case of taking too long to cast spells, have you considered extend spell (1hr/lvl with extend at level 9 is 18 hours, or almost all day). Also, Quicken spell allows two spells in a round, though using a rod of quickening might be preferable, so you don't use up the huge spellslot requirement.

I don't see why not? Pharasma is non-evil, and the evil deities that grant the death domain are all aligned so that you could simply be a neutral cleric of them. After that take feats involving unarmed strikes, or just get some spiked gauntlets, and go fisticuffs. Perhaps some grapple feats or something?

Urgathoa also has the strength domain, which grants you some nice buff domain spells for melee, and a really nice melee domain power at 8th level.

Oh yes, definitely a recurring villain. They'll have all the motivation they need to keep playing. :P

Keep in mind that when designing the encounter, the CRs are designed for a party of four. The book even mentions that when designing for less than 4, subtract one from the effective APL, and for more than 4 add 1. It's not a perfect system, but as some have pointed out, the Save or Suffer spells were pretty mean, considering one of them locks out 33% of the party.

Other than that, an option is to discuss post-game tactics with the players after each game. Give advice on possible counters for various things (such as spellcasting) that they can use for next time, or options to be better prepared.

My Tribal barbarian also limited himself to spears and the like. He shies away from swords, using only weapons that could feasibly be useful tools, also. (Like skinning a deer or putting food on the table.)

In any event, I gave him all the throwing stuff. He chucks said spears at people, and when he runs out of spears, he picks up chunks of rock and throws them instead. Perhaps she'd like throwing things at other things? She could even throw the dead goblins at the not dead goblins to make them dead goblins, replenishing her ammo!

I knew about the full concealment, but somehow didn't connect those dots. I think I was doubting myself based on the rarity of abilities like that. Perhaps the Witch will work after all. Thanks much.

So I'm planning out a number of characters for my first PFS games, and I've run into the following question:

The Boreal Sorcerer's level 9 power reads: "You ignore concealment and Perception penalties in natural or magical snow, ice, fog and similar weather conditions..."

Now, "You can't see more than 5 feet" is a hell of a penalty to the various Fog spells, but I have a sneaking suspicion the text is referring to -numeric- penalties. Confirm/Deny? I had immediately imagined a witch with eldritch heritage cackling madly in a fog cloud zapping people left and right, but then I re-read the text and I'm pretty sure I jumped the gun on that one.
