The Lady in Black

Hey, guys. Sorry about the small bout of inactivity. Internet troubles. Expect something long and and explain-y from me tomorrow one way or another.

The Lady in Black

"Thank you."

Lilith bowed her head in thanks to the man after he had completed the ritual. Perhaps she was too calm about the whole situation. Perhaps she was simply respecting the knowledge the man possessed, one of the few things Lilith truly respected.

Lilith sat back as the others speak and tell stories. Lilith listened more than she spoke, though she could hardly be described as a loner. Her aura was too sinister for her to be of any use at making allies and she was too blunt to be a skilled liar. No, she was interested in taking in everything and knowing more about others than they know about her. She had kept every relationship she'd had with anyone until this point as superficial as she could. Not a difficult task since she usually frightened people before too long.

She listened closely and took in every detail. It was going to be an interesting time that she had ahead of her. She thought she might as well do what she could to get these people to like her.

"Amusing story, Argon. I enjoyed it."

The Lady in Black

Lilith didn't even wince at the prick in her arm. Some of the others may get the impression that she'd had that done in the past. Perhaps she's done it to herself.

"Excellent. This is a beautiful learning experience to me."

She looked over at Argon and her voice almost hissed at him for a moment.

"I am Lilith. I do not forget things. Do not forget that." a mere moment passed before she spoke again, her voice softer this time "My apologies. Perhaps the blood loss is making me a bit more hostile than usual. It has that effect on me."

She thought for a moment. Her mind raced and the blood loss made her woozy as she began to develop a slight headache. She decided it was better to ask her questions over time. This man seemed like one of action and she thought it was better to learn by experience whenever possible.

The Lady in Black

After some moment of pause, Lilith smiled and nodded while taking the vial from the man.

"I'm supposing my sudden urge to destroy the bottle was a result of what you tell me. Makes sense to me now."

She sniffed the liquid in the vial and, provided it matched the scent she expected from its description, she downed it in one gulp. Strangely quickly in fact.

The Lady in Black

Sounds good to me. Sorry about yesterday's absense, friends. Just started work back and my schedule is a bit hectic. XD

The Lady in Black

I have a quick question. After some consideration, I don't think 14 strength fits my character very well (and seems a tad unnecessary).

Just was wondering if anyone minded if I decreased my strength by 2 (giving me 3 points) and raised my wisdom 2 points (giving me -3 points).

I had thought about lowering strength by 4 points, but then I'd be forced to put at least one point in charisma which is definitely not Lilith's strong suit. :P

The Lady in Black

"Hello to you, children." Lilith bowed her head to the various children who had introduced themselves to her.

She smiled - or grinned as it were - at the children for a moment before realizing that some of them had likely missed her previous introduction. "In case you hadn't heard, my name is just Lilith." she said, her words slithering out of her mouth now.

Even as the equivalent of a teenage elf, Lilith had a certain aura about her. It was cold and with little emotion, something much easier to sense after her reaction to the possessor demon she saw. Daxniss caught this feeling when she glanced over, Lilith's calculating eyes looking into hers.

Finally looking back toward the old man, Lilith's curiosity came bounding back; "Is there a way to rid me of the demon? Is there a way to meet it or speak to it?"

The Lady in Black

Lilith nodded exaggeratedly at the description of the coffin while continuing to eat. She waved at the children as they introduce themselves. She was finally starting to get full - well, it hadn't actually been that long since she'd started eating, but it had been a long time since she'd last been full.

"My name is Lilith." she finally got out "As I'm sure you've gathered."

After the mirror had been placed in front of her, she looked curiously into into. She was startled, naturally, but it would be hard to tell. She looked less like she wanted to run away from her reflection and more like she wanted to run tests on it.

"What is--"

She jumped a little as the boy screamed. Her surprise quickly turned into a smirk as she looked up at him, her cold eyes staring right into him.

"What is it I see here? A possessor demon? I certainly don't feel possessed." she said still watching the boy who screamed. She glanced back down at the mirror and leaned down to get a close look at it after she finished asking her question.

The Lady in Black

Lilith, as she continued to stuff her face with food at first only responded to the man's question with a shake of her head. She spoke only after clearing her cheeks enough to clearly speak.

"I'm a curious girl, sir. A century and a still can't figure out..." her words drifted off for a moment before finally and suddenly she snapped back to reality.

"The ship? Not much. Our luck with the weather was terrible." She took a drink of water as she thought about the question a bit longer "Oh, and we were stowing a coffin. I thought it was a bit weird, but I've heard of stranger cargo."

At the appearance of another young person as herself, she continued to eat, but did give him a grin and a nod. It wasn't a welcoming grin, perhaps more likely to send shivers down one's spine.

The Lady in Black

Lilith was startled by the slam of the door behind her, but she quickly regained her composure before glancing around the room to take in as much of her new environment as she could. When asked about her name, she merely looked over at the old man and nodded.

Then she was offered the food. It had been so long since she'd had a chance at food like that. As quickly as the old man had finished his sentence her mouth was full. Taking a moment to swallow and get her mouth clear after his question had been addressed to her she responded;

"I'm here to learn." she took a small drink of water to clear her throat "... and I currently have little reason to believe that my having a link to any creature is anything more than the talk of a madman."

Lilith began putting more food onto her plate from various sources, almost too excited about it to be bothered with focusing on much else.

"Thanks for the hospitality though!"

The Lady in Black

Lilith happily ate the apple she was handed. Ignoring any sort of social standards on how a girl should eat, she ate the entire thing faster than one would expect she would be able too - including most of the core.

"Ugh..." she groaned for a moment, thinking she had made herself sick. Lilith was a small girl, almost stunted compared to other elves. It was clear that she hadn't eaten anything real in a long time.

It didn't take long for her to recover as she just nodded along with what the man was saying. The entire walk would have been silent had the choice been hers, but after a short bit into the walk the man addressed her.

"My name is Lilith." she said in a matter-of-fact way. She appreciated what the man was doing for her, but her callous nature was unmistakable. Knowing her life and her mind, though, it's doubtful anyone would blame her for it.

The Lady in Black

Lilith took a moment to stare coldly, yet sternly, at the man. Although her eyes, and indeed her entire demeanor, was entirely still, it wasn't tough to see that her mind was racing. Just when the silence edged on awkward, her mouth began to move.

"Fine." as she bluntly put it "I choose to believe what you say. Take me there."

She looked down away from him, searching the ground for information that wasn't there. As soon as he began walking, she was be right behind him.

"And uhh..." she quietly let out a moment later.

It was clear that Lilith chose to remain skeptical of the man's words, but she was smart. She knew that whatever protection she was being placed under was likely better than what she'd face out on the streets. If it was a trap, death was likely better too. However she felt about the stupidity of the divine, she had to appreciate the generosity of this stranger.

"If what you're saying turns out to be true, thank you."

The Lady in Black

Thanks for the welcome!

I must say though, away for over 24 hours and you guys are on it. XD

Give me a few and I'll have a post up. Weekends are always a bit hectic for me, but I'll do my best not to miss days posting. You know how it is.

The Lady in Black

Lilith's grin quickly faded. Her eyes quickly searched the ground as if she would find her thoughts there. Beyond the past days being what they were, suddenly she was thrust on a man who seemed to know more about those days prior than she did. Which was something she did not like. Especially after he referenced his god as rationale fr his knowledge.

"I think you'll find that divinity rarely gives answers." Lilith said sternly "Save the likelihood that it should ever actually point at anything."

She tilted her head back up at the guard, her cold eyes looking into his.

"I'm not sure I'm in much of a state to appraise the explosion of which you speak. Why don't you ask your god? I certainly don't know..." Lilith's voice almost began to slither as she continued her sentence into the last of her thought "... but I'd certainly like to know."

The Lady in Black

Lilith looks up at the strange human for a moment completely startled by his presence. Lilith's facial expression turned around and into a smile, although admittedly fake, after taking a moment to hear his words and recognize his mask.

'How do you know me, strange one?'

"Oh, yes sir. Well, no sir. Not a ghost. Just..." her voice was purposefully meek sheepish "Oh, I don't know what I've seen..."

Lilith sighed and took a deep breath almost as if she were holding back tears; even though she probably couldn't fake actual tears to save her life.

"Wha... Y-You've seen me?" she said a little less softly now as she bowed her head to look at her feet. Her extremely long black hair fell in front of her face hiding it from the man. Under this cover is when she started to grin.

"Tell me, what do you know about me?"

The Lady in Black

Hey guys! Let me just tell you, today sure has been a doozy of a day.

It's night now, so I'll get started tonight. Just didn't want anyone thinking I'd jumped ship while I was still on the dock. :P

The Lady in Black

Hey there, one and all! Scaffold Kane here presenting a (mostly) finished character!

I'll be continuously working on her until she's hopefully finished tonight. If anyone has an issue with what I'm rolling with, feel free to let me know.

Premise:

What I have here is an alchemist archer who I plan to take into assassin and make use of some pretty brutal death attacks. She's a nerd. She throws bombs. She's not very nice unless you're helping her.

I've actually played this character (different class) a loong time ago and I want to explore her character a bit more. She's evil, but only because she doesn't value life that's between her and what she wants; knowledge. Specifically knowledge of her own past. When I played her the first time, she gave money to beggars. When the GM called out my Evil alignment, I just told him "And if any of these beggars tried to keep information from me, I'd slit their throats and have a cup of tea. And you don't want to know what I'd do to them if they weren't telling me something I wanted to know".

Anywho, thought you'd like to know.
