Nice! Early access spells sounds pretty cool, especially since the Druid list on its own is pretty heavy on situational spells. Divine Hunter with some polymorph-line spells? That could be fun.

Hey guys, good news and bad news.

Good news- I finally found a Pathfinder group with an opening in my new city, so I'll be joining them. Also, one of my friends is interested in learning, and I may be starting another group so he has a good place to play.

Bad news- My schedule is such that I'm not going to be able keep all my online games and join the real-life ones. I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop out.

Once the targets were close enough, Lauren initiated the attack, once more attempting to conjure an acidic attack, this time before anybody got in the way.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Yes, let's go ahead with that. Sorry, my mistake.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Sorry, I got confused about the groups. I thought we were together still.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

I got confused about the group splitting up. I thought we were still together. =/

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

… Sorry, I thought we were taking out the guards for the tower. I'd really appreciate other people taking advantage of the sneak attack round so they don't sound the alarm. x_x

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Finally.

Lauren thought for a bit, but shook her head. "Not really. Even if there was, they'd know as soon as we hit any of them. The rain will make it easier to get to another door out here, though."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren follows along, nodding. "Does anybody have any idea where the warden's office is? In general, I would assume it would be high up for a place like this, but that's not really anything to go on."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren nodded, and waved for the others to advance once Sus made his report. "No guards it sounds like, so we'll do this. We can find out about our good friend's arm, perhaps." That wasn't normally something you got back, but it had been a strange day all around.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren steeled herself against the oppressive field, and attempted to conjure an acidic projectile once more.

concentration: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
fort: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren already acted! -1 to the AC and saves of the guy who lived to wake the others.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear that. =/ How do they get out of overtime?

For that, he died. Lauren sapped the strength from him, the raw force of the void being much more reliable than formal spells.

-1 on AC and saves for a round.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Whoa there… that attack roll got chewed up something fierce. She didn't make concentration, though, so it's moot. Fortitude was good enough.

Hopefully the swords have a d6, half-BAB friendly setting? :P

I'm fine losing the original anti-pali, and Ilan is at Understudy's discretion.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren, clutching a flask of acid as a focus, attempted to summon a spray of acid to finish off a guard who'd managed to survive the initial onslaught.

fort: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Ah, thanks. Sorry, I missed the number. Huzzah for 1d3 +1!

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren shook her head. "No, let me keep it. I can conjure a little acid- not enough to do anything normally, but with this as a focus, I might be able to conjure something a little stronger. Certainly better than simply dumping the acid on and crossing our fingers."

ARG. Late post… ;___; I was really hoping to get a flask of acid for her.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

I figure we'll check over things at the end unless we need something now. XP

Lauren's eyes widened a little at the money. That was… not insubstantial. [b]"Well, something to look forward to once we finish business here."[b] She took the improvised dagger, keeping it in case of an emergency. If things got that far, she was probably in trouble. Still, better in trouble and armed than in trouble and not. Taking the potions, she set them along with the scrolls, and began working her way through them, doing her best to overcome the retched sensation that accompanied working magic in this Nethys-forsaken place.

No Read Magic prepared, so just using Detect Magic.

LOTS of rolls:
Concentration rolls, in order, as needed. Potions first, then scrolls.
Fail concentration, spend one round if Fort is made, two if failed. Make concentration, spend three rounds to ID. This will take a few minutes- I'm doing all my rolls, but things may be cut short.

Lauren checked the priest's corpse for anything that might allow him to cast without interference.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren crept along, peering into the room with Yzera. The man inside was clearly a priest of Mitra. Hmm. Worth searching his stuff once they finished him off- there might be some way of getting around the magic suppressant. She mimed slitting his throat to Yzera, shrugging inquisitively to see if she was going to.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren's joining Yzera, but we should probably figure out who sees what when and if we're spotted.

Take 10 on stealth for 25.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren didn't hesitate to let them out. It was certainly tempting to threaten the others, but no- that wasn't going to be any sort of loyalty. They could just die.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Hahaha… "No ill will". That's a good one.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

XD

Oh my goodness.

A one.

Lauren, this is what you get for taking a trait that penalizes your untrained skill checks.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren's Diplomacy roll will likely need to be followed up by somebody else's instead, or Lauren's Intimidate.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

While Yzera went to investigate their potential resources, Lauren took the keys and unlocked the cell holding the new recruits.

"Ladies and gentlemen," she said, turning to the other cells, "I'm sure these men aren't the only ones willing to throw their lot in against their captors. What we have here is a rare opportunity- the first and final breakout of Branderscar. Those of you who would take life serving in our company over life rotting in here are welcome."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Ah. From your comment in discussion earlier, I'd kind of taken it to include recruiting for the killy-stabby-escape part. New-and-improved version following.

Lauren shook her head. "A shame, and all the more since I'm sure he'd hardly have missed it. Obviously, any personal involvement would put your families in more danger than it would be worth, but we can provide aid through intermediaries. Keep any valuables you collect off the guards- it will be added to that aid. It's certainly no more than they owe you."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren shook her head. "A shame, and all the more since I'm sure he'd hardly have missed it. I can't promise much following the breakout with any confidence. I'm sure they'll be far more concerned about hunting me down than you lot. Some of us earned our stay here," she said, her face twisting into a wry smile. "But that works out to your benefit. There are eight of you. Make that promise to one another. While all and sundry are embroiled in a witch-hunt, any who make it take whatever spoils they gain here to aid one another's families. Disappear. I'm sure the guards are paid more than enough, and take bribes for still more. That's a far better guarantee than the word of a condemned prisoner, and your families deserve no less."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren smirked as she heard his answer. "Well, I certainly look forward to it. You have a name?" she asked, idly waiting for the others to return.

One of the prisoners called out, asking to be rescued as well. " 'S sensible of you. Fair enough- we let you out, and you help deal with the guards and any prisoners that don't want to join our little surprise party."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Just waiting for a reply from our friend behind brick. (Unless of course he's busy enjoying the Amontillado.)

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Ugh- Lauren, don't go spoiling your wizard cred like that.

Three attempts to cast, succeeding on the third. Only one round of nausea, though.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

"If I had that sort of magic, I wouldn't have gotten caught," Lauren said regretfully. As the others left, she remained keeping watch outside the brick wall and taking the time to cast a protective ward on herself despite the ever-present choking force that made magic difficult. Sus served as an advance guard at the top of the stairs, ready to alert his mistress if anything happened.

"I'm Lauren, incidentally. Wizard, although it's blazing near impossible to cast in here. I'm presuming you'll be more than happy to exact a bit of vengeance on Blackerly and company? Anyone worth this much security, I'd love to see in action."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Definitely stick around. I'm not posting all that fast either. No shame! I can't post during work hours M-F, so we're just on opposite schedules. Way of the Wicked has a start that takes a while, and this is the first time I've seen a Kill All the Things requirement on it.

If the GM has any suggestions for moving quickly without scaring folks with a lot of posts, I'm all for it. X)

For my part, I'm fine with somebody requesting Sus to go scout rather than waiting for me to do it. He'll take 10 on stealth for 24, generally enough to get by.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren wasn't exactly sure how they were supposed to break through the wall- unless it was Thok's job. She certainly didn't have that sort of magic available to her. Even evokers weren't usually going to deal with that sort of thing. Still, best to have a look. "Lead on. And I doubt it was everybody. I would hardly expect our entire contingent to be locked up together," she answered.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

"Shall we proceed to the common cell blocks? A few more allies will be helpful," Lauren suggested. "Better to recruit while we have time to talk."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren nodded. "Good. Thank you, Thok."

Yzera seemed to come out of a daze, or go into one- it wasn't quite clear which. "Pull yourself together," Lauren hissed. "I don't care what it is, so long as you keep it pointed at Blackerly and company. We get out of this, and then you can get all introspective about the new you."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Sorry that Lauren's a bit repetitious in all this. XP I promise she'll be a little more interesting once we're free.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

As Yzera charged wildly towards the guard, Lauren once again began draining the energy from him, hoping to weaken him enough for a solid hit.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren relaxed as they dropped the last of the guards. "All right. Anybody else wish to grab something?"

Sus, anticipating their advance, crept ahead to report on the defenses.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren tapped into the cold darkness of void, letting it flood her. She was used to it, but others less prepared would be left unprepared and weakened.

Ready action to use Reveal Weakness on the next guard targeted, giving him -1 to AC and saves for one round just before the spell or attack.

The veil contains a silver unholy symbol. I presume she would have taken it.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Actually, I'm definitely leaning towards two at this point. That'd put as a nice round six, correct? I miscounted earlier and thought we'd be at seven.

*heads off to bed*

…or she can cast Color Spray, assuming the bag from the veil has a spell component pouch.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Since combat may be happening quicker than I can get on to post, Lauren will be sneaking within thirty feet at roughly the same time the others move in. (Stealth mod +15, I don't mind it being rolled for me if needed.) She'll be using up to three of her seven uses of Reveal Weakness as necessary.

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

"Guards up ahead, and actually doing their job it sounds like. They've got horns," Lauren relayed to the others. "We have to move in before they can use them. To make sure things to a little smoother this time, I can dull their reflexes just long enough for a better strike."

Female Sylph Wizard; HP 8/8; AC 13 Flat 10 Touch 13; Fort +3 Ref +5 Will +6; (+2AC vs. mundane ranged attacks) (-2 saves vs. non-spells/SLAs)

Lauren couldn't help but smile. Talky bathrobe man. That sounded like another wizard. "Thok, I like the way you think. Sus, you keep scouting ahead- keeping an eye and your nose out for a loose arm."

Lauren is unimpressed. Her avatar is staring in passive judgement at your inability to roll well under even moderate pressure.
