Hmm, read the game thread first, though I don't think anything short of a direct hit by a tornado is going bother a gold laden chest, particularly a 750lbs chest. Granted cars get moved alot in such storms but they have a much larger surface area for their weight, have a signifigantly larger volume, and have a fair amount of bouyency as well.

Lady Fira laughs at Sasithorn's last comment. "Obviously you got the light end. Did you forget what it took to get that out of the boat? The worst we have to worry about beyond someone else finding it is it getting buried by the surf, which would remain easy for us to find. We will just agree to disagree on that minor point, however lets just get it over with, alright?"
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
"I am not suggesting to use this boat to leave the island, which renders both of your concerns moot. Reefs grow further out and become a problem trying to leave or approach an island from the open ocean. And paddling around 100' off shore doesn't really require sailing. As I said I'm just voicing the logical and sensical option." Now that I think of it, how many of us are nobles?
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
"First, it doesn't take an arch wizard to paddle, sailing with sheets out on the open ocean, yeah training needed, paddling around the coast with makeshift oars or even hands, not so much. Second, this was a singleman's place. Whatever is down that path is worth checking out later, possibly a shrine, garden, or chicken pens, but is very unlikely to be weapons or tools. It might be a stream but it is easiest finding one as it dumps out on the coast. Along the coastline is where we would find structures, ports, places with people, weapons, and/or tools. You want to solve your curiousity first, fine, there may even be something interesting, but I certainly don't place curiousity at the top of my priority list right now." Lady Fira seems exasperated and fervently hopes that the people who made this place aren't the one in a billion people who actually had enough paranoia to avoid all common sense and keep tools, weapons, and useful stuff hidden away from their main household. Cause that would just ruin her nice little speech full of logic and analysis of what 99% of peopleactually do. If she still gets outvoted (very likely at this point after being so irritatingly sensical) she will be sure to tie up the boat so it doesnt drift and will at least close the chest.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
"I don't think those are our only options, but what are expecting to be down that trail? Certainly not people or this stuff wouldn't still be here. Besides fnding things useful for survival should be our first priority and sailing the coastline will be the most likely way to do that. We can come back and check trails inland later." Fira seems confused by everyone's sudden desire to triapsing through the woods when better options for finding people, or at least remnents, are available.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
"Hmm, pocket change. A bit heavy though." She keeps a straight face at first, then laughs. To Mario, "A sail is nice but not required to use a boat. Granted without one it be wise to use it only for sailing around the coast but if there are people here, they will most likely be found on the coast and the boat even paddled will be faster then hiking." Trying to see if this gold sounds like any stories or history she has heard of,
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
"Doesanyone thinkthey can fix that ship if we get it out of the water? Even if we dont fix the mast, the hull alone would be good for sailing the coastline. I don't know enough to know if it is big enough that it can handle the open sea though. Not that I'd try without knowing where we are."
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
"Careful! I think it is going to blow up when it dies!" Fira tosses some more ice.
don't critical hits simply multiply the normal roll? I think one of threads clarified that too, though i don't remember where i saw it now. Though the thread was the first time i heard of people multiplying the dice rolled instead. Which makes the first time ive seen it in game. Grats sasithorn, youre a first! :)

Lol! A creature of fire that atks a creature of water on it own impulse. That was certainly unexpected (though why it spent a feat on moving before and after atks is odd, must be an intelligent creature) It is also interesting the GMs interpretation of my silent image. Edit: I just realized the lizard didn't make an atk roll vs the illusion, or are all those done behind screen?
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
Lady Fira moves behind some nearby cover or concealment if there is any to be had, thens she uses silent image to give the appaerence of summoning a large water elemental opposite the creature from the sea. She manipulates the image so it moves to try and scare the lizard towards the sea. Which is a move, then cast silent image.

Lady Fira looks to the group, "Well so much for scouting. Telthas and I can from the other side everyone else can move up from but stay hidden until we show ourselves or if we start screaming bloody murder. Agreed?" She smiles at her joke and waits for a response by quicky taking a last bite out of the fruit she was eating and tossing the remains aside into a bush.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
Figured telling time would be inaacurate though accuracy wasn't important. And I have done lots of wilderness navigation, hence my wonder at needing a survival check to go few hundred feet. Such a thing was easy even when I six. "Telthas, we should should first discover if anything of value is there. If not then there is little point in harrassing hostile people and if there nice, we can get help without stealing. So we should scout out the situation first." Lady Fira continues on till about a mile away from the structure. Then calls for a stop. "Who wants to scout it out with me?"
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
is this woods or dense jungle? Where does the cliff go? And why are we going so slow? Lady Fira grabs a few fruit and examines the cove, when everyone is ready to move, Fira will follow the cliff to a point where everyone can get down easily, then follow the cliff back to the cove (or if it's cliff all around the cove will simply follow the cliff). Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 at absolute worst if nothing else works, Fira will go left for ten minutes, turn right then go for ten minutes, turn right and go till the cliff/shore or 20 minutes. Turning slightly more then 90 degrees each right turn.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
assuming reletivily normal thermodynamics when magic isn't involved; the night was chilly but this is a humid environment, therefore it won't get uncomfortably hot unless some god intervenes. So the only thing to worry about on the beach/cliffside will be mild sunburn which doesn't require hot air. At least climatewise. Storms monsters etc are still possible. Fira thanks Tess and grabs what she recovered including the sail if there was one. Once everyone looks ready she heads to the right beckoning with her hand for all to follow.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
"Why inland? We should make this boat easily seen and clear in case someone searches for us and then we should follow the coast where we can't get lost and may possibly find fresh water more easily as flows into the sea. Besides the best chance to find people will be to find a port which will be on the coast. Any settlement will be near resources and we don't know where any are except the sea." Fira starts examineing the boat, what can be salvaged and what can't. What rope she finds she coils, uses a minor cleaning charm, and puts it on to carry, carefully avoiding it catching her dress.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
When Fira does go to sleep she sleeps on the boat so as to stay relatively clean, which turned out to not be such a good idea because of the cold, of course that didn't matter much since someone let the fire die. Vs the cold; jump start on the day: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 101d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
It seems difficult to start a fire only because the ability to do so has become rare. In the past and in fantasy setting most every commoner knows how to start fire and would do so quite often, granted it would often be in a hearth but still it would be an essential skill. Modern day tech spoils people and should rarely be used as reference for common knowledge or skills. Fira already offered to take first watch (she hates having her sleep interrupted). She spends the time walking around the fire floating a few rocks in a moving formation. If she finds herself dozing off she will wake the next watch. Fort to remain awake and for how long: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 142d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9 as a security guard I can personally vouch for how effective focusing on something can keep you awake, so I hope for a bonus because less then 24 hours wakefullness shouldn't be difficult even when exhausted (unless you lay down or sit and twidle thumbs, then it actually becomes difficult.) I do it twice a week.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
Well the cantrips concept can be seen in so many different ways that could be legimatly argued, and it doesn't help when there are contradictions for balance so it's really a matter of learning how each gm thinks of such things. Can prestidigitation be used to to start a fire? I am amazed that starting a simple fire requires higher then a ten. What is the DC for that? Fira laughed at Sasithorn's comment. Then turning back to Sorrin "It is a noble's duty to lead and guide the people. Kindness does both much better then fear." Fira takes ten to start a fire with a total of 15.
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
I guess Fira puts just the one out, unless of course I can light a whole rope from the boat. I wonder what the reason is for limiting the light spell like that. It doesn't make sense. Fira, after setting her light, assists the others, particularly, the soggy beauvingian, who seems to be having trouble, though Fira does seem to avoid getting dirty or doing any "heavy lifting," that's what the commoners are for! avoid isn't refusing though :)

I use "ooc" and "b" tags. @Terquem
Also since I completely forgot about traits (I usually do, new fandangled things) I will select one after work.

I look at Henrietta, then down at her dress, Henrietta "Yes, I can see the problem." I lift her out of the boat, just as the light shines about everyone. I attempt to be gentle, but as I have yet to care for any children, lifting small people is an odd experience. Henrietta "I didn't think of it before, but I will recommend Grygious as a dressmaker even more now. I always liked his dresses for being beautiful yet comfortable. But now I find the improved mobility is certainly handy." Ninja'd, and just made me sound funny too! Perception/Intuition: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 141d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
F Drasbian ::: HP 23/25
I shake my head no when offered the water, then I point at Tess and address the boat, "She is right, let's get the boat ashore at least. Then we can rest till morning. Unless someone knows for sure this place is safe however, we need a guard posted. I'll take first watch." I glance around taking note of who all is present, then hop out, waiting for others to help me pull the boat up the shore. |
