Kymani stabbed her boarding pike into the sand before climbing atop the crab's back and shimmying down through the hatch.

She bowed as Cato introduced them, smiling as she rose.

Ky took in the crab's interior. It would appear this Tengu had done well enough for himself. Where the hell did he get a stove?' Ky couldn't help but wonder.

Turning her attention back to the castaway, she couldn't help but eye the well-kept saber.

Kymani nodded as Sasha spoke. "I figured as much. Thanks Sasha."

"When we make it off this island, I'm sure your works will be invaluable to many, Gelik."

"Set your traps off the Path Ishirou. Not everything will approach directly, and I don't want to get caught myself" Ky said with a grin.

"Can you really train your friend Sasha? Another set of ears and eyes would help."

"In the morning, we'll head out again, likely for 2-3 maybe, but we'll be back. We'll head towards the western edge of the island. There's some kind of tall structure there, a lighthouse maybe. I think its our best chance right now...assuming we can get it working."

Back to the west, and the site where we found the dagger, using the fastest trail that we know of.

"Other than still being alive, not much luck of anything else I'm afraid Gelik."

Kymani unloaded what was left of the fish, the crab meat, and scraps from the dimorphodons.

"Well, I suppose a little luck with food...it would seem."

"It is good to see you all safe. Sasha, we found what looks like the site of a battle, and we recovered a dagger...an assassin's dagger it seems. What do you make of it?"

"Don't worry Gelik. I'm sure we'll find the Night Voice. There's still a lot of the island coast we have yet to see."

"The camp should remain here for now. It's the best location we've come across so far, but if that changes, we can move. For now though, stay here, stay alert, and stay together."

"We have seen evidence of others, but haven't encountered anyone else yet. Paths and trails, and some man-made traps, but no bodies yet. We did see a light house to the west, but we haven't made it that far yet. Maybe tomorrow we can push toward it."

Kymani stood and took a moment to call for Aurora, setting aside a few bites of food for her friend.

Kymani turned her attention to the dagger.

"Can't help but wonder what would give them trouble, or what they'd be doing on this island. We should head back to camp. Maybe Sasha has some ideas."

"Don't know, and I'd rather not find out." Ky shrugged. She stowed the rest of the food in her pack and gathered up her gear. Moving to the fire, she covered what was left with dirt and sand. "We should get moving. Whatever that thing was, it was heading south east. We continue west for a while, then we'll head back to camp and check on the others."

Ky grumbled to herself and grabbed a discarded fish head before throwing it at Cato. "What are you thinking? Keep your voice down. Or do you want to be the next goat that gets eaten by something on this island?"

Kymani cautiously enters the hut and looks around. Finding the journal, she slowly removes it from the crevice, glances through it quickly and tosses it to Cato.

"See what you can make of this, pretty boy."

With little else of interest in the hut, she heads back out and again looks around the area.

"We should stay here tonight. There's fresh water" she says, looking at the stream. "We can refill our waterskins and we have enough food for a decent meal. Zarek, see if you can find enough wood for a small fire. I'll start cleaning the lizards and the fish."

While the others cooled off for a moment, Kymani drew her kunai and used it to signal for Aurora. Once she arrived, Kymani affectionately patted her head before sending her off to hunt in the direction of the goats.

Standing atop the cliff edge, Kymani peered out at the landscape. "You know, it's a decent view, when the island's not trying to kill you." She took a deep breath and pulled a kunai out, holding it up trying to catch the light and summon Aurora.

She waited for a while, pulling out a ration and breaking up some of the hard bread in preparation for the bird's return. When the bird finally returned, she stroked it's feathers in between feeding it small morsels. Finally, she whispered to it "fly high, but stay close".

She turned to look at the others. "Alright, let's not press our luck with the cliff. We can head north and go around to continue farther west. Any objections?"

"Argh, stupid...flying...boots!" Ky grumbles aloud. In her frustration, she tries to pummel the lizard to death with her own body. With one hand holding her boarding pike, she swings a round house at the small dinosaur and then headbutts it.

"The Captain has a good-sized head start and we let the trail go cold. The way our luck's been, I doubt we'll see him again, unless it's in very unfavored circumstances. All we can do now is continue to scour the island. Perhaps we could salvage some wood from those wrecks in the water and fashion a small vessel, but our luck wouldn't lend it to be a reliable course of action. I guess we just keep walking' she said, head down as she did her best to clear her new boarding pike.

Emerging from the water, Ky takes a few deep breaths before slowly moving up to the chest. She gives it a once over, looking for any traps that may still be protecting the treasure.

Ky couldn't make out the muffled words from Cato as she sunk to the pit floor. With the ghouls dead though, she assumed he was safe enough, at least for the moment. Ky packed as Cato spoke. She slipped the silver dagger into her bandolier and the fishing net into her pack along with the block and tackle. The small mirror she tossed to Cato. "You might want to fix your hair." She grabbed the lantern with her free hand, her boarding pike in the other, and stood ready to depart. "After you sweet cheeks."

"M. Zarek, would you like these flasks? Or the coins?"
