===================================================

Background: Growing up in Shadowshore, Korynne learned that you had to be either good at fighting (which she was not) or hiding (which she was). Living in what essentially amount to a shed with her fathers, Korynne begged for and stole what she could to survive, being taught to always leave a little bit behind for the god of thieves. She lived a dirty and miserable life, made tolerable only by two caring fathers and the occasional book some kind traveler would give her while she begged for scraps in the Merchant District.

When her dads went missing, Korynne was devastated--but not surprised. As informants for a local thieves guild (the soon thereafter disbanded Black Cats), they were always in danger of becoming loose ends that needed tying up. She sold her books to buy some decent clothing, then tried something desperate: venturing into the Noble District. She managed, somehow, to land a gig managing some minor noble's library with her fairly extensive (if a little eclectic) book learning.

She quickly moved into the servant’s quarters, free of the clutches of Shadowshore for a little while. But although she enjoyed her new position--earning enough to eat without begging on the streets, enjoying the company of other clerks and servants in the district--although the food tasted drab and the wine a little sour. Taking these as signs of Olidammara’s displeasure, she took to nicking unused and unread books in her master’s library and sharing them with the beggars throughout Sasserine on her holidays and nights. Since then the wine has gotten sweeter and the beggar youth of the city a little more hopeful.

Appearance: A pale-skinned human woman of average height, dressed in red clerk’s robes, a small, stylish lady’s hat, and somewhat exaggerated makeup. It’s rare to see her without a book in her hand, or fiddling with a small wooden token--a two-toned mask.
