About Korppi Rifinn
Background
There were many rumours and speculation as to what happened to Korppi in her earlier years. Most were either started by Korppi herself or at least fuelled by her. Being a woman of mystery was a facet she liked to play up as she thought it gave her an edge.
In reality, she was orphaned at an early age, and her earliest memories were of being found in a spaceport with no clear memory of his life beforehand. She joined a band of vagabonds, and was trained in all manner of underhanded enterprises. First, she was sent out as a beggar, using her young appearance to get handouts. When she was older, she learned how to pickpocket.
Her education was spotty, like those of the other children who became beggars and thieves. But she managed to pick up some knowledge of mathematics, physics, and history by reading in her spare time. Intermittently, she would attend school while going undercover as part of a “respectable family” as part of a complicated con.
Korppi earned her keep doing a variety of unsavoury jobs but finally she decided to start her own career and stowed away on an automated freighter. And the easiest way to make money was to find people. Korpp became a successful bounty hunter, due to her ability to get people to talk.
But this failed to meet her needs and she hankered after the education she never had. Initially forging her qualifications, she enrolled in the New Alexandria University for Natural Sciences.
Why she chose science was beyond her, but she found a natural affinity for research and study.
Her thesis is on the correlation between what is known colloquially as 'luck' and the existence of cosmic forces.
Personal Information
Korppi is known for her cockiness, dry wit (that borders on rudeness) and silver tongue when needed. Her ability to think up inventive and often extremely unorthodox solutions to problems on the fly has saved her from countless sticky situations.
She is not, however, without insecurities - and despite her constant denials, is particularly superstitious and believes in luck as a major force in the galaxy.
She dislikes droids but tolerates androids — although doesn’t trust them completely.
