About Kobad Kharr

Kharr was born in the mountainous borderlands between Osirion and Katapesh.

Spoiler:
He was kidnapped from his village while just a boy by gnoll slavers, intent on selling him at the lucrative Fleshfairs of Okeno. The caravan was caught in a sandstorm en route to the coastal rendezvous and Kharr took the opportunity to escape. Lost and disoriented he wandered north further into Osirion.

He lived for months as a refugee in the Osirion desert.
Spoiler:
He survived on a diet of scorpions, sand beetles and other things not meant for eating. One day, close to death and nearly all hope abandoned, a glint of gold half-buried in the sand caught his eye. Pawing through the sand, he uncovered a perfectly preserved gilded wooden figurine of a winged woman clutched in the skeletal hand of a centuries-dead Qadiran invader. Also untouched by time and the elements was a small leatherbound book.

He became a self-taught cleric.
Spoiler:
At first he could only marvel at the beautiful illustrations, but over time he began to decipher the scrawling Kelish script. He had unearthed “The Book of Eastern Mysteries: Visions of the Dawnflower, as Revealed to Me, Kobad, Most Favored Servant of the Goddess Sarenrae.” Partly due to his clumsy interpretations, but mostly due to the fact that the book was actually a copy of the raving manifesto of a deranged self-proclaimed prophet, a pure but somewhat misguided faith took root.

He took up the mantle of Sarenrae and the name Kobad, in honor of the prophet.
Spoiler:
Divine providence of Sarenrae had preserved the book and symbol and had meant for Kharr to find them. He vowed to devote his life to the Goddess with the teachings of the prophet to guide him.

He became a Pathfinder.
Spoiler:
Originally Kobad was a member of the Qadiran faction, but joined the Silver Crusade after its formation in the Pathfinder Society. In his final mission before retiring from the Society, he raised a fellow Pathfinder from the dead. Kobad has now retired to the Everlight Oasis.
