About Ko-Shen

"Why do the humans ruin their food? It's better raw."

Konal daShen, "Ko-shen", was raised in the semi-primitive society of the Nagaji of the Mediogalti Island west of the Eye of Abendego. His Naga overlord, Shen, found a useful yet guarded alliance with the pirate raiders that take refuge in the port city of Ilizmagorti. Ko-Shen was taught Common language and became a trader and liaison for the Shen-ti nagaji.

The Shen-ti nagaji society has only used simple weapons and natural unarmed combat. But due to the diversity of weapons and loot brought into the port city, Ko-shen began to experiment with exotic weapons, and his exceptional intuitiveness and visual learning style allowed him to easily grasp the skills needed for various weapons (martial flexibility). And due to the near lawless nature of the port city, many conflicts were solved by duels or outright brawls between ship crews, which allowed Ko-Shen to observe unusual and exotic combat styles.

His forked tongue and lidless eyes gives him an unblinking gaze that most other races find unnerving. He soon learned that he could sometimes convince a merchant/trader to give him greatly reduced prices or even items for free by causing a simple pause in the conversation (as if to think) and staring at the other person for a moment (hypnotic gaze), and then he'd leave as quickly as possible before the the merchant figured out for how little money he actually sold the item. He also used this gaze to cause the occasional trouble maker to confess openly that he would loose a fight with Ko-Shen.
Over time, the Naga Overlord Shen saw that Konal would make a good emissary to explore and report on the "great island" human societies. So Ko-Shen bartered a passage on a trader/pirate ship and eventually arrived in Absalom where he acquired a field commissioned pathfinder status and "infiltrated" the Grand Lodge of pathfinders.
