Kira leans heavily against the door, panting hard since she is not used to that type of physical exertion. She looks over at Ardainn and says, "Not to be rude, but perhaps we should get everyone under some kind of roof before we keep talking about these items. I have heard that this type of storm comes with a lot of hail and rain."
Seeing all hands going to the front gate, and their great strength and effort being met with the equal and greater strength of the wind and storm, Kira runs over to give what littl assistance she can. Without even a word, she finds an unmanned piece of door and leans against it with all her might.
Standing next to Lina during her conversation with Alkaid, Kira stays quiet. She waits for the exchange to come to a close and is not surprised that Lina stays steadfasts in her desire to become more feminine. I don't think that I could even imagine going through what she has so far in life. "Alkaid, you would be waiting until after this storm is done, or are you ready right now? Also, could the risks be lessened by... getting some more knowledge from the outside? Perhaps getting a book or finding someone else in the area who deals with potions and extracts?" Kira turns to Lina and explains, "I know you want this to be done soon, but if we know it will not have so many side effects then a couple days delay would be well worth it.

"I had heard that some people were staying in the stable, and I had thought we should go there too. Halloran had set me, Elaine, and Alerienne in the bunkhouse in deference to our gender. If I have remembered correctly, Oleg had said it was going to be full. Perhaps you and I could go over and see if we could both weather out the storm there?
I have to say that as a player in this campaign, I'm excited to see who else may come in and join me and Halloran. I don't envy DM Azure's position of having to sift through these applications, but just the types of characters who are applying sound exciting. Good luck to all!
After finishing with her attempts at securing the outpost, Kira heads with Lina into the stables and waits out the storm there.
I'm one of the players right now. I'm a succubus touched tiefling bard (yes, I am aware that you're all drooling right now). We also have Halloran, a human wizard. So... yes, there are many roles to fill, but we have a variety of NPCs in the game who can fill gaps. It would just be nice to have more PCs than NPCs in the party. That being said, I've loved the twists we've had with our NPCs so far.
It is all moved over onto the alias profile. Ready for the recruitment page to be reset.
I will get that done in the next couple of hours. I'm at church right now, so I'll do it after work.
This does seem to be the usual prime time for starting recruitment runs. I have no opposition to having more players involved. I feel weird though with havi my so many drop as I join you guys. Is this just random chance?
Still, I would imagine that perfecting gender-assignment could give us a niche that some people would pay out the nose for.
"I guess you could say that people who say that they are always in control of their relationships are deluded, but we all have moments where we do control the outcome. You might not know this, but I was a singer in Restov. Nothing really big, not a well-known performer or anything, but it was a way to make a little honest money. It was one way where I was able to see how you can either have control or just the illusion of control. "Think of it this way... When a person sings by themselves, they always have control over the final outcome. They determine what notes come out, and what speed they sing at. But if they were to sing along with another person or with an instrument, each of them trades off control. One person leads, and the other follows. One is in control, and the other is controlled. If you can trust the person who leads, you never need to fear being controlled. But if that person betrays your trust, then you are in trouble." While finishing up her chore around this area, Kira finally admits, "I guess very few people ever fully have control when it comes to dealing with another person. The most you can do is suggest and see if the other person will follow what you suggest. All I mean to tell you is that given the correct... combination of training and instincts, you can find a way to give suggestions that others would be willing to follow. Nobody can be 'controlled' unless they are willing to be controlled. Does that make any sense, or are we even talking about the same thing here?" "I'm sorry if I'm babbling it's just so nice to... be able to talk with someone who could be considered... a friend?
I have faith in Alkaid's healing talents. Halloran and Elaine fully trust her, so I think you can trust that she will be able to bring out your womanly form. Kira smile fades a little. While men may do what I want, I have never really been able to find the love that I've wanted from men. Many of them only want to use me, so I use them too when the opportunity arises. Her eyes dip down, thinking of the previous experiences she has had with those who had used and discarded her. She raised her eyes back up and gave Lina an impish grin. I'm sure that Alkaid will help your body, but I'll do my best to have you be the one in control when it comes to men.
While her back is still turned to Duke, Kira gives a wink to Lina. She then looks over her shoulder and smiles coyly at Duke. "Oh, I think we're okay for now. But I will let you know if," she pauses and admires Duke's form, "When we'll need some help. Perhaps we'll see you later in the stable?" Kira winks again, this timeee directly at Duke, and then turns away from the muscular man, turning her full attention to Lina.
Throughout the work, Kira does her best to keep the conversation light and easy. She doesn't bring up the previous words spoken by Lina's partners in crime. When Lina brings up the subject though, Kira pauses for a short moment and adopts a thoughtful expression. "I know that many women are not exactly happy with the way that they look. Even the most beautiful of us will still find fault in what anyone else would call an exquisite body." Kira looks Lina up and down once. "You called yourself a late bloomer, and I do believe that that is what you are. You are a beauty that is just waiting to unfold, you just need a little... tending to." Kira turns away from Lina to pick up some materials for securing some of the goods at the trading post, bending at the waist in a way that she would to get a man's attention, showing no shame in the femininity of her form. While making this motion, she continues, "Not every flower blooms easily. Some of the most beautiful flowers need a skilled gardener to bring it to it's fullest potential." Kira turns and places some of the materials in Lina's hands. "Between Alkaid and I, we can bring you to your potential. Don't you worry about a thing, ok?"
Kira will primarily assist Lina, with securing the trading post, but will assist anyone else as is needed.
Kira quietly replies to Alkaid, "I would be glad to help in any way that I can. No woman should be made to feel less than she is. I don't know much about the actual chemistry of a womans body, but we both know I have the instincts of a woman on the prowl. If you need my assistance at all, you may have it in any way. After hearing the general desire to secure the area, Kira backs away from the table. Focusing on Frank and Charlie, she says, "Well boys if you are just going to sit there talking, I guess I will go and make myself useful. I'm more of a woman who likes those who do things, rather than those who just talks a big story. Would you like to join me Lina? Maybe you could show me what we'd need to secure around here.
Kira frowns at the squabbling between the two of these man-boys. While she has never minded being fought over, she truly disliked them attacking poor Lina.
Kira looks at Frank, "Well, originally I was opento the possibility, but I have to admit that the way you treat others makes me doubt you could treat me as I would like" Kira looks over at Lina, trying to convey a sense of compassion towards her, never liking the teasing centered on those who are, well, different.
Kira looked around the table, and tried to evaluate the various people seated at the surrounding table. Not necessarily directing her words to anyone, she says, "Yes, I for one would greatly appreciate some assistance." She places her hand on the shoulder of one of the more roughly dressed men who she assumes to be former bandits , and quietly says "I would of course be eternally grateful to anyone," she squeezes her hand on that shoulder, "who would help us."
"I saw Alerienne earlier, and I don't think she'll be up soon at all. It may take several hours, or even another day. If we start out now, she may be able to catch up with the rest of us by nightfall if she even gets out of bed at all." Kira looks around the table, the unsure expression from the previous day returning to her face. "It would be nice if we have some more people to join in the hunt than you Halloran, Elaine, and me." Kira looks at Alkaid and the other at the table. "Who else would be well suited to join us?"
Echo is a Human Alchemist, hailing from far away, primarily raised by elves in a small Andoran community. Currently I wasn't planning on taking anything else for her, but looking through our group I noticed that we are lacking in anyone who really has much in the way of trapfinding skills (unless I'm missing something on someone's Character sheet). I've got disable device, but I'd be lacking a little bit in that area unless I use the Crypt Breaker archetype. The fluff given at the beginning of this doesn't necessarily meet with her original background, but since she was placed as a Calistrian Acolyte in an Elven society , her responsibilities could have included some crypt exploration. What do you guys think? (It'd be a minor rework, but a possible benefit for the group).
Well, I'm guessing Elaine and I can do decently with healing between the two of us. Should we invite.... Kressle? (Is that the name of the reformed bandit?) It'd be nice to have someone else on the front lines.
Kira slowly rouses herself from bed as the morning begins. Here it starts, my first day out with these brave men and women. She stretches her arms and legs after rolling out of the rough bed. While some may have considered it to be a primitive place to sleep, it was comparable with what she had to work with back in Restov. Honestly, anything mostly horizontal will do. Kira then dons her armmor, and then goees over to her horse to begin packing her supplies for the next few days. I already came here ill prepared. I'd hate to make everyone else late as well.
Who needs real life anyways? JK. I'm mostly able to post only while I'm sitting outside my daughter's room as she's falling asleep, so I feel lucky to have that time set aside. Thanks for letting us know that youre leaving Taldash. I know not every player gives enough consideration to inform others when they're leaving. Usually life g gets in the way and they just disappear. As one of my elders told me while I was growing up, You are a gentleman and a scholar.
So, have we lost Alerienne as well? Are down to 3 pcs?
Kira sits back and watches Halloran talking with Alkaid. For a moment, she wondered if there had been any sort of relationship that was building to a sort of climax. Those events ended up quickly deflating, and she just sat back and enjoyed the warm feeling that spread through her limbs. Having embarrassed herself enough earlier in talking with Alkaid, Kira just kept to herself while by the fire. When she felt sleep tug at her eyelids later that evening, she returned to the bunkhouse to enjoy the last few vestiges of civilization before the next day's promise of rugged adventure.
I look forward to joining you for dinner, and sampling whatever wares you may have gotten out here on the frontier. Until then. Kira smiles and gives a small wave, going off to find Alkaid, and then after her discussion she will take a short rest in the bunkhouse until dinner when she will rejoin the rest of the group for dinner.
So besides the 2 mess kits, 1 coil of silk rope, and 3 blankets that you said you have the limits on, you have all of the rest of the items? (2 medium tents, 1 bedroll, 2 shovels and an axe)
All those items sound useful, although I'd put the cots down as the lowest priority. I would love them for sleeping, but would do without if we need to wait for that purchase.
Yes, certainly we should pool resources for such matters. I just have little to contribute. I guess I shouldn't worry about giving more of specific items to the group, but I now see foolishness in what I had brought out with me. Kira looks over at Elaine. Somehow I thought that only having fishing hooks would be enough, unlike you who had the wisdom to buy a rod as well. If I was left in the wilderness for too long, I may have easily of starved.
I would just like to contribute more now that I have your wisdom to guide me. I must admit, I have just spent my last few years living in a city. While I did spend my early life homesteading with my family, I have not had much time as an adult out on my own in the wilderness. I will gladly supply my Fishhooks, Flint and Steel, Grappling Hook, and anything else you see in my supplies that would benefit the group. However, I see that my contribution pales in comparison to the rest of you. If you all would be willing, I would make some purchases to assure parity within the group. Tents, axes, shovels, anything that could support us better, I would be glad to support the group. You are all much better prepared than I am, and I would hate to cause failure because of my lack of fore-thought.
I would still like to contribute to funds for the party. I would hate to take advantage of the good fortune of the group when I have not done any of the work so far. I do not know if any of the other newcomers have money to spare, but I would be willing to give this amount for the common good. It doesn't leave me destitute, trust me. As for having a tent, it might be a good idea. While things like mosquitoes or a raccoon would be an annoyance, other beasts like stirges could be deadly if they have open access. It might be best to have at least the protection of a tent so we are not taken by surprise while asleep. I once heard a story of a man and while who slept under the stars, and the husband woke to find his wife torn in two by a bear, and already half eaten. I would prefer to not meet the same fate as her, so a tent would not be a bad idea, I only regret not having thought of it myself earlier.
I will have to think on your position there about having people keep the darkness at bay. Hopefully I will find those here to keep this darkness at bay, rather than have the darkness grow and consume me. Thank you again for your time. I will be sure to see you again once we return from the wild. Kira returns to the bunkhouse, and spends the rest of the night there.
How can that be? I have never heard anything positive of the succubi, how could that make you an Aasimar? Aren't they all descended from celestial beings? I have always felt the darkness in my soul, and I had heatd my parents occasionally whisper the word, "Tiefling." I don't have to be a genius to know what that means, but perhaps... Kira pulled in closer to Alkaid and said in a voice just above a whisper, You and I share in our bloodline, but mine has manifested in a darker way where I am considered to be a Tiefling. Tell me friend, we're you born Aasimar, or was your nature redeemed in some way?
TO THE GROUP Kira takes a moment before beginning her wandering around Oleg's, and reveals her great to the rest of the group, showing the she is only partially prepared for the road ahead. She slowly takes the following out of and off of her backpack.
Kira noticably appears ashamed at her lack of manners, not even having a simple plate or bowl, let alone a mess kit. A lady should be better prepared than this, even in the wilderness. What would mother say about me if she could see me now? Halloran, you show great wisdom in your preparations. I can easily see that you are better suited to equip us than I could be. I think this would be of use to us all in your hands. Bag given to Halloran: That should be enough to furnish us, at least I think it would. Kira blushes and looks down in shame as she remembers what she had to do to earn that money. If only those men could see me now. She tries to regain her composure and looks back at Halloran. I trust this will smooth the way for us all?
20 Gp TO ALKAID Kira feels a little puzzled, and asks do you mean to say that my true mother was a succubus? She pauses for a moment and contemplates what that could mean, and then as a small tear falls from the corner of her eye, she quietly says I guess that would explain why I was left on the side of the road. DM AZ: Should I roll a disguise check to conceal my race from the rest of the party? I've been trying to do that with my scarf to avoid detection from the common people, but I was figuring the party would figure it out quickly.
I approve so far.
Kira smiles at Alkaid and says, No, not really, well, er, um... just spit it out already Kira I was just hoping to get to know you better. I mean, you just seem so... familiar to me. That doesn't sound weird to you, does it?
So by fairly thin, you mean lithe or below average curves? Sorry for the slow reply on this. I meant lithe. She still has curves in the right places, but not what you mmight call "child bearing hips"
Kira shivers slightly, remembering the previous night. Thank you for reminding me Halloran. The nights under the stars are colder than I remember. I will make sure to purchase one before we leave tomorrow. Also, hank you for the consideration of suggesting us being in the bunkhouse. It will be a nice change from being out under the stars for the past few nights. She then goes over and (when he's available) purchases a blanket from Oleg. During the remainder of the day, she wanders around, getting familiar with Oleg's trading post, and possibly talking with Alkaid some more if she finds the opportunity.

Kira has been obviously unsure about herself around these new acquaintances, and she quickly steals glances at the faces of most of these people to see if she is meeting their approval. But whenever she finds a moment to look over at Alkaid, she doesn't feel that same feel of anxiety. Alkaid feels... more familiar. Even more familiar than her parents or siblings ever did. Kira looks at Alkaid with a small smile. I would imagine that life out here is filled with surprises. I just hope that we are the more pleasant variety of surprise for you all.
She looks around at the rest of the group and asks, So shall we head out tomorrow after breakfast?
Kira smiles at Oleg and Svetlana. Thank you for your kind greetings. I hope that the presence of myself and the other newcomers will be a boon to your community. Turing to Svetlana, she says I hope I'm not assuming too much, but where would be able to rest when it comes to the night. Would we rough it under the stars while behind your strong walls, or is there a roof we could sleep under? Turning to address the rest of the group, Kira sighs to herself and says, I would love the opportunity to make any ally in this hostile . However, I would be lacking the proper linguistic skills to interact with them, unless anyone else could assist me with speaking in draconic. I am not all that skilled with either the sword or the bow, but I would be willing to accompany you all in a conflict with that boar. I would of course do my best, but I doubt I will be able to do much besides give 'moral support'. However I do like the idea of meeting another of your friends. So I guess if we're at a point of making a vote, I will officially put my voice behind going to Kira looks around at the faces of the rest of the party, hoping that she didn't stick her foot in her mouth around these new compatriots.
Its a Masters in Divinity, studying to be a Pastor. I'm doing an internship for the 3rd of the 4 year program. Of course that all males it comical that I'm playing a Tiefling
I'll want to talk with Kressle more later, find out more about the Stag Lord and see if she would be an ally to even one as unfamiliar as me. Most likely she won't openly accept me at first, but it always takes a little extra time to build a home. Will I be able to make this my new home ? Kira smiles pleasantly to Svetlana and Oleg, trying to get her bearings socially in this small community.
