I don't have a plan for this PC yet, so let's go with Grand Lodge.
"Come at me!!!!" Kiliuk roars in frustration before he steps up and slams his mace into the raging creature in front of him.
Kiliuk can't quite place the monster, but doesn't need that knowledge to be able to rise up and defend himself and the others. His form tenses briefly as his mind clouds, letting his instincts take over. Fury encompassing him. Kiliuk steps forward and braces himself to meet the monster in the middle, ready to swing his mace with power.
"Thanks, Torval." Kiliuk has an uncomfortable look on his face, clearly not used to accepting a compliment from a dwarf. If he keeps that up, I'm going to have a hard time continuing to dislike him! He enters the cave with the others, cautiously, and begins exploring.
Aaaargh, that light is so bright! At least if it were just the dwarf and I, we could explore in the comfortable darkness and not get blinded by that dang artificial sun! With his natural darkvision undone by the magical light, he's unable to note anything unusual in the cave. He keeps exploring cautiously, approaching what appear to be a slope that leads further down into the cave.
Kiliuk turns to the man sneaking up behind, and in this instance, he doesn't hold back. His rage rises to the surface in an uncontrollable fury; he circles around his companions and strikes out hard and fast.
Kiliuk feels instant rage upon being attacked by these youths, but works hard to suppress it. They're just kids! He draws his mace and steps forward, but strikes at the boy in front of him only with his balled fist. It seems the mace is only there to add to the threat; he clearly intends to leave the boy alive. But he holds nothing back from his swing, letting the boy feel the pain of his poor choices! Actions:
Kiliuk nods at the dwarf. Still don't know if I like him, yet. But he's smart. "There could definitely be more clues there, let's check the fire."
Kiliuk examines the other two potions while Brialla reads from the journal.
Before they head out of town, Kiliuk looks for an alchemist that can sell him a vial of acid. Heading up into the hills where Aureliax indicated, Kiliuk notices the shack that was mentioned. He brings a finger to his lips as he points it out. "We don't know where these bullies might be, best be cautious from here on out." He approaches the shack as quietly as he can, and investigates the area to see if he notices anything unusual.
This... has nothing to do with me. Nor me mum. But I still don't know anything; got no place to start looking. Maybe... maybe I help, be hero, and she see me! Then there's no need to look; Mums can come to me! The half-orc's hand shoots into the air. His voice carries in the pregnant pause as the village waits for a volunteer. "I can help. My name is Kiliuk. I'll do what I can."
Kiliuk lets himself laugh at the vendor's joke, starting to get into the mood of the festivities. He happily accepts a funnel cake, and begins munching on it. After polishing it off rather quickly, he lifts his head, showing off a nose unknowingly coated in fine powdery sugar.
"Hmmm. I don't need no jeweler, but travel's better with company than not. I'll stick with you if'n you don't mind." He looks up and down the street, taking in the festivities that seem to be already well underway. "Wasn't planning this to be no vacation party, but a festival is a good time, and the travel gets weary." He looks to Brialla, and the others. "'Sides, a lead to me mum could show up any time I guess." He follows Brialla towards the food.
Back from the river; it looks like the forums are maybe finally back up?
This is unfortunate timing with the revival of the forums, but I am heading into the woods for the weekend to go float down a river. I won't be back until Sun PM, so expect regular posting from me to resume again on Monday.
Kiliuk bristles at Torgen's remark. "Pops was an orc--is an orc, I should say--I hope that's not going to be a problem. I can find another room and table it I gots to." He lets the tension ride in the air as long as it needs to, showing no sign of actually getting up to leave the table; instead he digs into his meal. He tucks a napkin into his collar then begins spooning hot chunks from the stew with one hand as he mops up the rich gravy with a heel of bread in the other, taking breaks for deep glugs of ale between bites. His meal finished, he turns to the sisters to explain his story. "Speakin' of family, that's why I'm here. Looking for me mums. She left, gettin' on a year ago. Her mums or grandy got sick--not really sure of the details, it's not like she left a note. You see, she slipped out quiet-like in the night to go back. Guess she thought it'd be easier on us--or maybe she don't want her family to know us. Still a lot of prejudice against orcs in some places." He pointedly doesn't look at Torgen when he says this. "But she's me mums! Her family is from Brevoy, so here I am, looking." He pulls the napkin out of his shirt and wipes the crumbs from the corners of his mouth, laying the napkin by his bowl when he's done. "And you, sisters? From around here?"
