About Kezzi
Raised in the sewers, Kezzi was a typical ratfolk: curious, scheming, and communal. However, as a student to a renowned alchemist, Kezzi often found herself in her mentor's shadow. Whenever he/she excelled, his/her teacher received the credit as well, which irked her to no end. Worse yet, she proved to be less-than-skilled with alchemical extracts and mutagens, though her skill with bombs and explosives was impressive even to his/her mentor. One day, hoping to prove themselves to be a skilled bombmaker in their own right, they inadvertently destroyed a large section of the old sewers when a bomb they threw ignited a cloud of methane gas. This accident cost several ratfolk their lives and many others were injured by collapsing debris and dangerous gases. As a result, Kezzi was banished from the community.
Bitter and lonely, Kezzi has become determined to prove herself to be a skilled alchemist, even if they have to deal with "biggies" (a term they use for all medium-sized humanoids). Officially recognized as a "grenadier" by the society for her love of explosives over mutagens or specimens, Kezzi still considers sciences and alchemy to be her calling in life. Kezzi is skeptical of people who rely on spells and magic, as extracts, to her, prove that magic can be created through science. All in all, Kezzi hopes to use the society as a stepping stone to fame, fortune, recognition, and respect.
