The son of priests of Lorris, Kersey Rofocale ended up spending his early formative years in Sandpoint as his family took up an extended stay there during a pilgrimage due to his mother's unexpected pregnancy, resulting in the birth of his brother Bailey.
While sticking to his parent's faith and volunteering when he could to help out those in need, more out of a sense of duty then out of charitable goodwill, there were few standouts in his memories that he remembers from his childhood aside from the occasions when he got to play with and befriend the other local kids, such as Ameiko, Sandru, and, even though her father tried to prevent it as much as he could, Nualia. He couldn't remember as much of Shalelu, elusive as she was.
But then the day came when their parents resumed their pilgrimage, and the brothers had to leave their friends behind. Not being able to form strong bonds with anyone left Kersey developing an irreverent outlook in regards to his life. Moreso when he learned of the horrors that could occur that the gods didn't seem all that interested in stopping immediately, such as demons pouring out of a wound in the north.
Despite his family settling in Korvosa.
