The woman before you wears the tall boots and feathered hat -- and carries herself with the swagger -- of a swashbuckler or pirate; a cutlass in a battered scabbard at her side. But she also carries a fine longbow and walks with the quiet step of an expert woodsman. Her hair gives her away -- red with a shock of premature white; this can be none other than Katrina, the River Fox.
An infamous young smuggler and river pirate known to work the waterways surrounding Riddleport, as well as her cool professionalism and aloof manner, she is a known associate of the notorious Nikolai "Nine Knives." Few know the swamps and small waterways around Riddleport better and fewer still would dare cross her.
Katrina ("Kit" to her friends) had until recently served as first mate on a vessel called "The Red Lady." The captain took her aboard thinking her hair a sign of a good luck, given the name of his ship. For a while it seemed true enough -- Katrina rose to become first mate and the crew of the Red Lady did well.
But the ship was attacked in the night just two months ago and Katrina was the sole survivor -- escaping over the side and into the water, largely unscathed save for a scar over her eye. Since then she's been laying low and looking for answers about who attacked her crew mates.
Few leads have turned up, those largely unhelpful and her investigation has been put on hold ... For now.
