Background:
Born in 4685 AR in the town of Kelmarane, Kasim was only a small child when the Pactmasters abandoned the town to ruin. Kasim's parents were lost in the resulting chaos as the town was overrun and the citizens fled. After surviving the trip across the desert Kasim care and education was left to an order of Sarenrae clerics. Kasim grew up in the church and his formal religious education was extensive. Kasim has always been a devout follower of Saranrae and as he grew his fervor to spread the word of the Dawnflower did not diminish. Kasim can always be counted on to further the word of Sarenrae. When the clerics told Kasim of the efforts to recapture Kelmarane and reestablish the church within the town Kasim saw it as his holy duty to volunteer.

Before he left for the expedition a paladin's of his church named Sabir gave Kasim a wonderful and unexpected gift. Wrapped in a blue silk cloth was a masterwork scimitar with the script "أسرع ثم الريح وأكثر وضوحا ثم الرمال" etched into the flat back of the blade. Sabir explained that the blade had belonged to Kasim's father and was thought lost after Kelmarane fell but Sabir had recently recovered the blade from the corpse of a Knoll raider. Now armed with his father's sword Kasim has set off to join the efforts to retake and reestablish his childhood home.

Appearance:
Kasim is a Kelishite male in his early 20's. His skin is tanned from long hours of prayer and devotion to Sarenrae under the open sky. His hair is a curly mop of raven black curls which stand in stark contrast with his eyes which are so light blue they are almost grey. He is of average height and has a solid muscular build with a thick barrel chest. His jaw is square and cheeks bear the pox mark of heavy acne scars.

He is almost always wearing heavy armor with a surcoat that prominently displays the red gold sunburst of his goddess. When not wearing his armor Kasim can be found in red silk clerical vestments. Growing up in the church has made Kasim naive in the real world. He assume that most people are good and those that have committed evil will repent or pay. As such, his world views are often black and white. Kasim has never left the deserts of Katapesh and has no desires to see more of the world as he is content to make wherever he is a better place.
