Background: Karr suffered the lot of all third born sons of nobility. He was shipped off to the monastery in preparation for entering the priesthood to advance the family’s political ambitions. Karr did not appreciate his family’s callous disregard.

At the monastery, Karr was mentored by Brother Cyrus, a monk who secretly worshipped Asmodeus. Seeing the potential in Karr, Brother Cyrus trained him in skills more suitable for a killer than a priest. Brother Cyrus then fuelled Karr’s hatred for his family by shredding the lies Karr repeated to himself to make his lot bearable. Karr felt more alone than ever. Brother Cyrus then offered Karr a chance to change his fate. “Worship Asmodeus and you shall be the master of your fate.” Karr agreed and would have received his mark of induction into the Asmodean Cult had it not been for the capture by the witch hunters of Brother Cyrus. Though there was suspicion cast in his direction for his close apprenticeship with the fallen monk, Karr’s unblemished skin and noble birth saved him from following his master into the flame. The scandal rocked the monastery and Karr was recalled to his family until the matter is sorted out by the witch hunters.

At home, Karr suffered the snide remarks of his siblings. He bore them in silence, promising a day of reckoning.

Some time passed and the monastery was declared cleansed of the taint of Asmodeus. Karr’s noble relatives deemed it proper to send Karr back to continue his training. A party was held to mark his return. But Karr had other plans.

Slipping poison into the food served, Karr watched with glee as his tormentors slowly choked to their deaths.

Days later, Karr was captured by the witch hunters. Karr’s display of infernally inspired fighting arts was taken as proof that he was in league with the proscribed Asmodean Cult. His noble standing the only thing that prevented his summary execution.

Presently, Karr is in prison waiting for his day of execution.
