Adaptability (Skill Focus (Diplomacy)) Half-elves receive Skill Focus as a bonus feat at 1st level.

Approved Order A drakerider can join only an order approved by its mount. Suitable orders include order of the beast, order of the cockatrice, and order of the dragon, as well as other fitting orders at the GM's discretion.

Background Skill (Knowledge (History), Knowledge (Nobility))

Challenge (Ex) 1/day [Swift Action], you can challenge a foe to combat. Choose one target within sight to challenge. Your melee attacks deal 1 extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of the challenge. Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier's concentration. The cavalier takes a -2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge. The challenge remains in effect until the target is dead or unconscious or until the combat ends. Each cavalier's challenge also includes another effect which is listed in the section describing the cavalier's order. His allies receive a +1 circumstance bonus on melee attack rolls against the target of his challenge whenever he is threatening the target.

Charming Blessed with good looks, you've come to depend on the fact that others find you attractive. You gain a +1 trait bonus when you use Bluff or Diplomacy on a character that is (or could be) sexually attracted to you, and a +1 trait bonus to the save DC of any language-dependent spell you cast on such characters or creatures.

Chivalrous You were raised on tales of heroic knights and benevolent wizards from Taldor's Golden Age, and try to emulate their great deeds. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Diplomacy and Knowledge (history) checks.

Dragon Soul (Ex) Half-elves with this trait choose to count as either elves or humans for any effect regarding race. Additionally, half-elves with this trait also count as dragons for the purposes of effects targeting creatures by type, and gain a +2 racial bonus on all saving throws against fear, sleep and paralysis effects.

Drake Mount A drakerider gains a drake companion instead of a mount. She gains cavalier's charge at 9th level instead of 3rd.

Edicts The cavalier must remain loyal to his allies and must always work to further the aims of the group. He must protect his allies from harm and defend their honor when called into doubt.

Half-Elf

Hedonistic You are a creature of pleasure and comfort. Whenever you spend a day without gaining reward or treasure (at least 10 or more gold pieces) or spending an hour on entertainment or pleasure, attempt a DC 20 Fortitude save at the end of that day. If you fail, you begin the next day fatigued. This fatigue lasts 4 hours, or until you receive a reward or sufficient entertainment or pleasure.

Hero Points Current Points = 0; Max Allowed = 3 [Alter these values in GM Awards]

Keen Senses (Ex) Half-elves receive a +2 bonus on Perception skill checks.

Low-Light Vision (Ex) You can see x2 as far as humans in low illumination. Characters with low-light vision have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Low-Light Vision is color vision. A spellcaster with low-light vision can read a scroll as long as even the tiniest candle flame is next to her as a source of light. Characters with low-light vision can see outdoors on a moonlit night as well as they can during the day.

No Racial Subtype You have chosen no racial subtype.

Order (Ex) A cavalier must pledge himself to a specific order. The order grants the cavalier a number of bonuses, class skills, and special abilities. In addition, each order includes a number of edicts that the cavalier must follow. If he violates any of these edicts, he loses the benefits from his order's challenge ability for 24 hours. The violation of an edict is subject to GM interpretation. A cavalier cannot change his order without undertaking a lengthy process to dedicate himself to a new cause. When this choice is made, he immediately loses all of the benefits from his old order. He must then follow the edicts of his new order for one entire level without gaining any benefits from that order. Once accomplished, he gains all of the bonuses from his new order. Note that the names of these orders might vary depending upon the campaign setting or GM's preference.

Order of the Dragon Whenever an order of the dragon cavalier uses Survival to provide food and water for his allies or to protect his allies from harsh weather, he receives a +1 bonus on the check.

Rising Star All too often, great minds must suffer for
their art, but you’re one of the lucky ones. Your skills
attracted the attention of a noble patron who pays for
your food, housing, and tools. As your patron introduces
you to other cultural elites, you’re slowly learning to
navigate the treacherous waters of high society, but you
still remember the lean times when each meal was a
hard-won treasure. You gain a +1 trait bonus on Sense
Motive and Survival checks, as well as checks using a
single Craft or Perform skill of your choice; one of these
skills is always a class skill for you. Once each day, you
can invoke your patron’s reputation or name one of your
own prominent works to gain a +2 circumstance bonus
on a single Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate check. You
begin the game with a masterwork musical instrument
or tool appropriate to the Craft or Perform skill you
selected, a gift from your patron.

Background:
To know Kanesia Stenlall, one must first know of House Stenlall. The Stenlall family is sometimes called Mongrel-Cursed Stenlall. This is because in ages past, the family, in attempts to gain power and prestige, had numerous dalliances with other beings. The family’s ancestors wooed changelings, half-cloud dragons, half-bronze dragons, elves, and sylphs, all in order to inherit the non-humans’ powers and abilities, not to mention create powerful connections in order to force other noble houses to their will. While this did indeed create some very powerful members of the family, it did not endear them to a vast majority of Taldan noble society, not to mention put the family in some awkward positions in many social circles.

Luckily, more conservative-minded (not to mention more traditionalist) members of the family were able to move the family away from these attempts to incorporate non-human bloodlines into House Stenlall and forge alliances with several other noble ‘pure human’ families instead in the desire that more human blood would eventually wash away the family’s more ‘mongrel’ bloodlines.

These houses included such prestigious ones as Houses Varima, Clement, Basri, and Darahan. The knights serving House Stenlall attempted to try to prove to their fellow Taldans that they were not pawns by non-human masters. This was possibly a big mistake. Several of those they killed or slew were in fact distant relatives of the Stenlalls themselves, and their angry ghosts cursed their human kin. It didn’t take long for disaster after disaster to start eroding the family’s wealth and power. Some members of the family, in a state of panicky desperation, tried to strengthen their ancient bloodlines, hoping this would turn their fortunes around. Instead, it merely caused their allies to distant themselves from House Stenlall, ostracizing the Stenlalls even more and mixing more non-human ancestry into the family tree.

Then, five generations ago, a Stenlall knight killed a changeling witch. The witch, in a sense of twisted malice at the Stenlalls, cursed the family, promising that one day, a child would be born to remind them and everyone of Stenlall’s past. Not only that, but the child would also be a reflection of the sexism and racism that marred Taldor. Several generations later, the Stenlalls were reduced to a mere barony (barely actually). In the hopes of securing at least some connections to a more powerful noble household, Baron Stenlall married an elven woman who was part of House Basri, praying that this would turn House Stenlall’s fortunes around. It did…in a way. Turns out, his daughter was the one that the long-dead witch’s curse hit.

Kanesia Stenlall was born unlike other children. While certainly a half-elf, she inherited a good deal of the mixed blood from her family’s non-human ancestors. Her body was covered in a mixture of blue-white and bronze scales; her fingernails were hard, while her eyes were different colors. And she could sense changes in the wind. However, what marked her different was the dead witch’s curse: while Kanesia looked like a woman, she was actually a hermaphrodite, having her stand into the roles of both males and females in Taldan society, but never being considered good enough to fit into either role. Her unusual appearance and gender confusion led to her being shunned and taunted by other children. Even her own father was overbearing and critical, and while he did not hate her, he rarely expressed any love to her.

One day, she punched a bully in the face. And it was at that moment, she felt happy standing up for herself. While she was able to keep her tormentors away from her at times, her father refused to allow his odd-looking daughter to become some sort of ruffian, and had her tutored in the hopes that maybe she could be a lady of the court, despite her ‘additional feature’. Kanesia did her best to become social and ladylike, although she found flirting and seduction to be quite exhilarating, leading her to develop a bit of a hedonistic streak, one that she still has to this day. During a local gala, an older noblewoman invited the scaled half-elf to another social gathering, introducing the young Stenlall woman to the faith of Aresha, the empyreal lord of freedom, physical beauty, and sexuality. In a way, the teachings of Aresha helped Kanesia overcome her long years of self-doubt and confusion about her gender identity, still it wasn’t enough. Her father had her tutored in the arts, hoping to expand her talents, and possibly attract patrons to help turn House Stenlall’s fortunes around. Kanesia discovered a love of painting through her mother, a devout follower of Shelyn, goddess of love and the arts. However, one of Kanesia’s tutors was a former knight of Shelyn, and would sometimes tell Kanesia stories of courtly love and the hardships and pains experienced by the knights in the stories. The young half-elf took these stories to heart, learning from the tenets of Shelyn that all are beautiful in the goddess’s eyes and that one should try to beautify the world around them, while at the same time seeing that it was worth the pain of loss to defend that beauty. Still, Kanesia was at a standstill, feeling that something was absent, like she was a puzzle that was missing that one final piece to complete the picture.

One day, she discovered an old book in her father’s library. Written in a strange language, she began to study it. It was an old copy of the holy book dedicated to the dragon god Apsu. As she read the book, she began to feel like the missing parts of herself were slowly being filled in; Kanesia felt…inspired. Working diligently, she tried to craft the perfect artwork. Her father, in frustration, criticized her for trying to drag the family’s name through the mud for some twisted delusion of grandeur that she herself couldn’t fathom. He broke his cane on one of her rough drafts, resulting in him suffering a minor heart attack. As servants led him away, she apologized to him for being a disappointment. He told her if anyone was a disappointment, it was him: for resting the family’s fading future on the slimmest of chances; just another tally in the number of times a Stenlall stumbled and fell while trying to claw their way up society’s ladder. It was at that moment, that Kanesia painted a work of art: The Pain of a Dragon’s Heart, a painting of a silver dragon trying to woo a human noblewoman, but because they are different and the stern disapproval of the woman’s society, they would forever be forced apart from each other. The painting drew the attention of several patrons, who agreed to sponsor her, not only as an artist, but as a knight for they also saw a fierce determination to protect the good from the wicked. These sponsors were from the Platinum Band, an organization representing the non-dragon followers of Apsu and located in Oppara. She went on to create a few other works of art, The Draconic Wooers of the Bather (a work of art that referenced the three faiths that helped her overcome her feelings of self-doubt and anxiety growing up), The Draconic Lovers in Midflight, and her latest, The Dancer in the Cloud-filled Skies. As she painted, she also trained as a knight, learning how to fight with both sword and tongue. It was after she had become a full-fledged knight, that her father told her with a bit of a smile on his face, that maybe, just maybe, he hadn’t been wrong to lay all of his hopes and dreams that one day the Stenlall family would be restored to greatness on her shoulders.

Personality:
Kanesia is something of an enigma to others. Growing up, she was filled with feelings of self-doubt because of her appearance and being part of House Stenlall. She felt that she was trapped between being a man and a woman, and since Taldan society and culture had strong gender roles, she didn’t quite fit into either one. Now, a full-grown woman, she chooses to define her own place in Taldan society, and refuses to allow her hermaphroditic state be a burden to her. She is both passionate about her art as well as her studies of the history and lore of Taldor’s knights of yore, drawn to their stories and hoping to emulate them by forging her own stories. She also seeks out lore of dragons, feeling that the very ideals and feelings of dragons are closer to those of non-humans. She also has a strong distaste of those who discriminate based on one’s gender and appearance. Desiring to be included in social circles while growing up, Kanesia makes sure to act ladylike when needed, but she does have a sharp tongue, even if said tongue is silvered as well. She is quite flirtatious, using her unique and exotic looks to turn heads of both men and women, finding that her strange appearance need not be a shortcoming, but an asset instead; if the rumors are true, she has bedded quite a few men and women. She can be a bit hedonistic at times, but she finds great joy in art and continuing her training as a knight. She prays to Shelyn, Aresha, and Apsu, thanking the three deities for helping her to grow strong when she was younger, but she has a much stronger devotion to Apsu. She is also an avid reader, and loves books, especially those concerning draconic lore, but she'll read pretty much anything.

Appearance:
Kanesia appears to be a pretty tall female brunette half-elf with a muscular and well-toned body, but she is actually a hermaphrodite who is also quite well-stacked as well. She feels no shame of her body and has even posed a few times as a model (and done a few self-portraits of herself). However, she has some unique features and characteristics. Her body is covered in bronze and blue-white scales, a sign of her mixed draconic heritage, and her fingernails are hard and almost clawlike, while her hands and feet are slightly webbed like a bronze dragon. She keeps her long hair fashioned in a braided ponytail; while it is mostly brown, there are many blue streaks in it; also her body is covered in light blue wispy markings like those found on sylphs. She has sharp, striking almost dragon-like eyes of two different colors: the right is sea green and the other is sky blue, possibly a combination of the changeling and dragon blood flowing in her veins. She also has nictitating membranes, a clear additional eyelid that can blink away grit or even cover and protect the eye without reducing visual acuity.

She also has pronounced canines, with one of her upper fanglike teeth sticking out of her mouth, giving her a dangerous, yet alluring presence. She tends to dress in outfits that show off a good bit of cleavage in order to assist her in flirting with others (and because she likes to show her body off a bit). When she speaks, she has a melodic, soothing voice. And she has a ridges and spines on her shoulders, neck, and head.

Good Rumors::

#1: Kanesia seeks to establish connections with the Pathfinder Society (True: Kanesia is quite the fan of the Pathfinder Chronicles and hopes that maybe establishing connections with the Society will also help House Stenlall as well. Plus, she plans on contributing her adventurous tales to the Chronicles someday).
#2: Kanesia is a strong believer in romantic love (True to a certain extent; she has bedded a few people in the past, but no serious relationships as of yet. She tends to favor women than men, but she’s open to all genders.)

#3: Kanesia's artwork has captured the attention of some unique fans...of the draconic variety (True, although Kanesia doubts it: Her artwork has drawn become quite popular among dragons, although they admire her art, they are also quite critical too...especially bronze dragons, who are her biggest fans.)

Bad Rumors::

#1: Some say that she’s as greedy at hoarding as the dragons whose blood run through her veins (Partly true: She does like to collect trinkets, but she isn’t a hoarder…or so she says.)
#2: She once worked in a brothel (Sort of true; while she has never worked as a brothel girl, she has worked for brothel, being commissioned to do artwork for those brothels that are run by followers of Aresha)

False Rumor::

#1: She finds dragons far superior to non-dragons and believes that we non-dragons should bow to them. (While she does think dragons are great and magnificent, she doesn’t think that they’re superior to non-dragons. Still, her artwork, which portrays a good many dragons, continues to spread this rumor).

Darkvision (Ex) Range 60 ft.; Darkvision is the extraordinary ability to see with no light source at all, out to a range specified for the creature. Darkvision is black and white only (colors cannot be discerned). It does not allow characters to see anything that they could not see otherwise-invisible objects are still invisible, and illusions are still visible as what they seem to be. Likewise, darkvision subjects a creature to gaze attacks normally. The presence of light does not spoil darkvision.

Flight Fly speed of 40 ft (clumsy)

Immunity to Magical Sleep (Ex) You are never subject to magic sleep effects.

Immunity to Paralysis (Ex) You can never be paralyzed.

Immunity to Sleep (Ex) You are never subject to sleep effects.

Lesser Breath Weapon Electricity The drake gains a breath weapon that fires a tiny glob of energy, inflicting 1d6 points of the chosen energy type on a single target within 30 feet after making a successful touch attack. This power may be used at will, but must wait 1d4 rounds between uses. At fourth level, and every three levels thereafter, the lesser breath weapon increases its damage by +1.
Low-Light Vision (Ex) You can see x2 as far as humans in low illumination. Characters with low-light vision have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Low-Light Vision is color vision.
