I'm working on a setting with numerous houserules. Most of these concern paring down options to create a nonstandard "core" set of classes, incorporating some official variant rules, and Epic 6. I think most of this is fairly well understood and the results should be reasonably predictable, but I also want to try something to emphasize background elements of the setting (which draws heavily on myth and folklore) which I haven't seen many examples of and so I'm looking for advice.

First, I want all spellcasters to be either spontaneous (like Sorcerers) or to maintain spellbooks (like Wizards) with a few variant options (like Arcanists and Witches). I definitely want both Bards and Clerics to use spellbooks. It seems to me that this will have a lesser impact on Bards but a much greater one on Clerics. Clerics would continue to be able to spontaneously cast cure spells and I think these should not take up space in the spellbook. Domain spells will probably be added to the spellbook automatically and it will be possible for deities and their agents to grant spells to followers directly. All classes would keep their usual spell lists and still rely on their primary attribute for save DCs and so forth.

Secondly I'm considering eliminating the distinction between arcane and divine magic.

These changes will certainly have unintended consequences so I'm interested in hearing some advice on potential problems and how to resolve them.
