About Kalabac
A middled aged, grey-eyed and bearded Wizard that is prematurely greyed, Kalabac is a man clearing trying to exude dignity and demanding respect. At 6' 2", he is a very tall but slight man, with not much in the way of bulk. He prefers robes of deep colors, such as purple, black and dark green, with stark white added in to make a riveting and almost gaudy contrast. Wears a short pointed cap of this color scheme that has a small brim, and points backwards to a rounded end. He is a man that has passion and deep feeling that belie his stoic veneer, as well as a streak of curiousity and trickery to amuse himself that could sometime lead to disaster. And though he will never admit it, but he picked up some of his former master's arrogance. Has a fear of deep, open water.
Kalabac comes from a cosmopolitan city in the north, and has lived his life through the area. In his younger years he was an apprentice to a wizard around the city, but found it oppressive and felt stinted without any real progress. His master was a cruel and arrogant man who basically had Kalabac be his slaveso he decided to travel as an adventurer and hone his magical skills on his own, and searched ambitiously for any sorts of arcana throughout the land. His illusions of adventuring being a carefree and glorious life were shattered when he stumbled upon an orc encampment and narrowly escapee with his life. After returning to the city, he set up a a small laboratory and studied in peace for many years, until he felt the call of adventure once again. He searched the city for a companion that might have the combat and physical strengths that he himself lacked as a scholarly wizard. And then he met what would become his best friend, Dregi, a Dwarf fighter. Together the traveled the coast seeking fortune and excitement, and came across their small share. But good times come and good times go, and these good times left as Dregi was notified that his clan was reclaiming their ancient glory in the east, and felt the call back to his home. They parted ways and Kalabac felt depressed, as if he lost a part of himself. And this wasn't the only interpersonal relationship that he lost. He met his wife, Clara, on his travels, and returned to stay with her in the city after his days of adventure ended. But this too was met with tragedy, as Clara left him, and Kalabac couldn't cope. He became an obsessive ex-lover, and his obsession was only facilitated by his magical prowess. Repulsed by this, Clara left the city, deciding that she hated Kalabac and could never see him again. Her hate and disgust has only grown since then.
Kalabac now seeks to return to his adventuring life, becoming stir crazy due to his losses and feels unable to properly advance his arcane journey from his laboratory.
Kalabac, losing the two people he loved, has concerned himself with expanding his magical might, and is a self-centered man that will make use of every tool that fate presents to achieve this. He still deeply misses Dregi and Clara, and dreams about reuniting with them one day. But for now, magic is the one topic that haunts his obsessive and ambitious mind, and everything else a means to that end.
