Kaellin hails from the Hymbrian region of the River Kingdoms. He was born to an elf ranger and a wandering human Tian swordsman. His mother, Mirasiel Greenleaf, was a ranger of Hymbria. She had a chance meeting with Xiaowen when the two ended up fighting River pirates together. The two hit it off, and they formed their own adventuring company. For several years, they ventured throughout the Inner Sea region before returning to Mimere to start a family.

Kaellin was raised on tales of his parents adventures. His father taught him swordsmanship, while his mother raised trained him in the ranger arts. At the age of 10 years, tragedy struck, and Kaellin lost his father. He and Mirasiel had embarked on one last quest to put an end to an old foe that had resurfaced. However, Xiaowen and their foe were engulfed in a magical explosion that wiped them both off the face of the world. Only Mirasiel returned to Hymbria, where she retired from adventuring for good.

Kaellin served as a ranger protecting Mimere and Hymbria. However, he was restless, and felt out of place. Although he was never turned away from the elven community, on account of his mother, he never felt welcome either. It did not help that the half-elf would act out and test the boundaries of his elders. All this changed when the would-be bard elf Sylvara Amalur entered his life.

While on a solo patrol outside of Mimere, Kaellin came across a band of bandits chasing the elf girl. Together, they fought them off, though the immediate aftermath was not smooth sailing. Kaellin was put off by the girl's haughty gratitude, and Sylvara was offended by the boy's rude response. The two argued all the way back to Mimere until they were both caught off guard when he learned that Sylvara was coming to see his mother, and Sylvara was dismayed to learn that Kaellin was Mirasiel's son. Apparently, Sylvara's elder brother was Mirasial's apprentice years ago and had recently passed away. Sylvara came to deliver the sad news. But it was soon learned afterwards that Sylvara's real reason for coming was that she was basically running away from home. Like her brother, Sylvara wanted to go on adventures and explore the world. That was when Kaellin realized that he and Sylvara actually had something in common.

Shortly thereafter, the two of them decided to do it: go off on and explore the world. Mirasiel was reluctant to see her son leave, but knew that he had too much of his father and her own sense of adventure. She made Kaellin promise to look after Sylvara, and saw them off. Over the next several years, Kaellin and Sylvara embarked on several adventures: fighting pirates in the River Kingdoms, rescuing art in Galt, helping Andoran free slaves. During these adventures, Kaellin and Sylvara's relationship grew close, although not without friction.

For the past several months, the two had found themselves exploring Brevoy, with Restov being their favorite stopping point. While Sylvara took in the local history and culture, Kaellin found himelf occupied with impromptu duels, mainly ue to his inability to tolerate snobby attitudes and his quick mouth. The timing of call for the Stolen Lands expedition was on point, and it sounded like the great next challenge for the two adventurers.

Appearance and Personality:
Kaellin is still young and brash. He likes the thrill of taking risks and coming out on top. He is no good at coming up with elaborate plans, preferring leap first, and adapt on the fly. He likes to show off, and can be pretty cocky. However, Kaellin has good instincts, and has good enough judgement to not jump head first into an unwinnable situation.

Kaellin is honest, almsot to a fault. He has no skill for deception, but neither will he be taken for a fool. His instincts are good enough to tell when people are being false with him, and he will not hesitate to call them out. He really hates bullies, such as people who abuse their influence and power, but especially slavers. Kaellin is a free spirit, an believes no one has the right to own other people.
