"Excellent, come, we ride for home, a heroes feast awaits, the other kukri was found by your druid companion, he was guided, and had his own trials and tribulations to deal with, the gods are in our favor, Dhakhaan shal rise once more."

Two fresh Mage-bred steeds are brought forth and presented to you.

"Ride with me my young heroes, tell me of what you saw and did so I might tell the tales of your valor as well."

we can keep these final posts going for a couple days, or if Drex needs to cut it off, this can be the final post.

The Exchange

The last warforged fall under the assault of the two hobgoblins. The two hobgoblins step from the tomb, the morning sun peaking over the mountains. You see the remaining warforged outside the tomb have been ridden down by a hobgoblin warparty. Haruuc, last of the hobgoblins, steps from the tomb shortly after the other two.

"Akesh Dhakaani!" The leader says, you immediately recognize her as the dirgesinger that started you on your journey.

You've returned to our lands heroes, though I see there are only three of you. I hope the others died a death fitting Dhakhaan, I assume you've recovered that which you were sent for?

Closing it up, final days before Drexel heads to the boot camp, then A-school.

The Exchange

"Very well"

"I must attend to my other duties, stay the night here, eat, drink, for soon you leave on a mission for Akesh Dhakaan! Akesh Darguun!"

"In the morning I will have the map delivered, in addition to horses, fully laden with supplies for the journey."

she tosses a pouch of coin on the table "That should cover an additional items you may need for the mission"

She steps closer to Haruuc and whispers in his ear

Spoiler:
I look forward to seeing your progress Dhakaani, show your leadership in this endeavor

With that she turns and departs
You will find 100 platinum in the pouch

Bowing reverently, "Mighty Dirgesinger, how will we know the weapon? What is the fastest way to travel there? Is anyone else seeking the weapon that you know of?"

"You will know the weapon by it's ancient design I would guess, or perhaps you will feel it's presence once you're close enough. You will need to find the field where the dead have actually decayed somewhat, as I said, that battle took place 2 weeks before the Mourning, so those bodies would have decayed unlike those that fell on the day of mourning, look for them on the southwest edge of the field of ruin. I have a map of ancient Cyre and on it is marked the approximate location of the battle."

"Artifact? I doubt it Drexel, I would know an artifact by description, this is most likely a relic of the age, powerful yes, but not on par with a true artifact."

"I am always searching for information on Dhakaani relics and artifacts, in fact I sent a strike force to recover a known Dhakanni relic from an adventurer. I hope to hear of their glorious return before your return"

Favored:arcanist would not help against a living spell

The Exchange

"I have never stepped foot in the "Mournlands."

"Of course from the tales I've heard and can recite, there are many horrors in the mists. Healing magic does not function properly, 'forged have begun to migrate to the Mournlands, they follow the banner of the Lord of Blades. Spells cast on the day of Mourning took on a life of their own, and still roam today. Creatures mutated, the dead rise to stalk those who dare to enter the mists..."

"The location of the Battle of Black Rock, is within the Field of Ruins, our forces were ready to enter the battle, as a Pincer Unit, to break the enemy units. Other forces from Darguun were battling the Cyrans, Brlenaders and Thrane on the Fields of Ruin."

"Had we not been an elite unit ready to strike, we would have been there during the Mourning..."

The Exchange

"Unbeknownst to me, one of those who went into battle with me carried a relic from ancient Dhakaan, a dagger, possibly a kukri. When he fell in battle the relic was lost. Even I have not been able to identify it from the description given to me by his family. No hobgoblin has returned to that battlefield since the Day of Mourning. I can give you the location of the battlefield before the fall, but who knows if the weapon remains there."

NOTE: we will be using the Fast XP advancement Table

The Exchange

Kaega'ko appears to look into the past...to her memories..."I led our forces against Cyre two weeks before the Day of Mourning, a glorious battle was fought, we won that day, but as we pressed into Cyre we were driven back...I was there on the Day of Mourning, we were camped on a hill overlooking the border, when it happened, we could hear the inhuman screams and then silence..." She looks morose "No one should die that way...no one."

She snaps out of her reverie.

"To travel there means travelling into the Mournland, I would escort you there, but other matters of the Lhesh Haruuc's court have precedence."

The Exchange

"Malach has told me that while he sees three locations now, but that can change...the most important part of the prophecy is you...what you decide to do on the journey, the prophecy revolves around you, you revolve around the prophecy..."

The Exchange

We'll proceed without Rethal for now.

"From what Malach has indicated, the glory of dhakaan is at stake..."

"Akesh Dhakaani!"

"Listen to what Malach has to say now..."

The Exchange

Once the room has been cleared of the Rabble of goblins Kaega'ko waits for the missives to be delivered

"Malach says that you pointing to Ur-Kaim were the one who he saw that we could not contact, as your whereabouts were...unknown...Shekh v'taaka(what is your name?)"

"Malach in case you're wondering is a Dragon prophet, he is here because has seen in the prophecy a great even t is about to unfold which could break Darguun, or return the Glory of Dhakaan to us, the heirs of the first true empire, the time before humans ruled, before the Daelkyr nearly destroyed all of Eberron"

"Glosh, Zech, guard the entrances to this building, Malach and I are perfectly safe here" she says without so much as turning toward the bugbears.

With that the two bugbears depart the common room

She takes a seat at a larger table, and gestures for the rest of you to come and sit at that table, Malach stands behind her and to the right. Perception Check DC 15:

Spoiler:
some of the tatooes seem to writhe and twitch on their own

(to be continued, I want to keep it moving without leaving the other two in the dust.)

Brignat walks forward and gives them his writ. Bowing his head, "Here is my summons." Stepping back in military step, he awaits her orders.

[ooc] I'm assuming this involves Dhakaani history & my word bearer trait applies: 1d20+4=17

Spoiler:
You have indeed heard of Kaega'ko, go ahead and check her profile and read the DC10 and DC15 entries

Haruuc Dhakaan wrote:

Surprised by the entrance of the Dirge Singer, Haruuc quickly notices her beauty and smiles. He lowers his hand and steps forward, bowing slighty to show his respect for her position. He glances at the human but pays him no mind, thinking him to be an obvious servant.

"You have me at a loss 'great voice'. You know me but yet I do not know you."
He moves towards her with confidence, ready to talk as somewhat equals.

Diplomacy Check. (wasn't sure whether to add +2 because she knows my noble status?) (1d20+7=10) Well that's not what I hoped for...

As you step forward, the two bugbears step in the way with their axes at the ready

"Surely you've heard of Kaega'ko, Haruuc..." Knowledge (local or history)

"Produce your letters honored ones!"

The human leans over and whispers in Kaega'ko's ear...and points to the druid, her eyes narrow as she focuses on the druid

"Glosh, Zech, get the rabble out of here...This tavern is under the Jurisdiction of the Lhesh Haruuc as of NOW! If you don't have leave to be here...the punishment is DEATH!, You have 30 seconds to remove yourself" With those words the goblins who were not told to produce letters panic even more than before, and begin to scramble for the exit...The two bugbears grabbing them and tossing them through the open doorway. She points at Ur-Kaim "You, may stay"

We'll pause this here til everyone has had a chance to react to this event...or til the morning if people are slow to react, I'll proceed to keep the game moving

The Exchange

you hear the sultry, slightly husky voice of a female hobgoblin

"That won't be necessary Haruuc"

As she strides through the doorway, you can see an instrument slung over her shoulder...dirge-singer...

After she enters, a human wearing only a robe, sandals and many tattooes walks through with her. He has a satchel with books and scrolls slung over his left shoulder, and a staff in his left hand

The bugbears stand beside her waiting for orders, cautiously watching the room. As your eyes adjust you note they bear many scars of battle.
