Thanks for your compliments, Piotr especially about the one without question of system and setting. That is quite touching.

Unfortunately I think my time for D&D in general has probably come to a close, and I'm sorry that it entwined all of you in it.

I also chose to let you write your own retirements because I think the last thing I gift I can give you would be free will...

I thought about the whole thing over the weekend. These days my interest in D&D is dying off. Even the other game where I am only a player.

I also looked at our last attempt for recruitment. Frankly I feel that at the pace we're going (it's really slow), the caliber of the recruits we can find will not be very good. The problem with going too slowly is at least for me, I have the tendency to forget what I was supposed to be doing.

I'm also starting a new job soon so I have no idea how much time I will have available at a computer to post on paizo and frankly running a game from phone is not optimal at all. I feel that my abilities to conduct an enjoyable game have been detrimentally affected ever since I've moved to phone posting. It's sort of hard when trying to get longer posts on phone, making the game rather flat.

If you ask why I don't use PC - it's because the time I'm at a PC is when I'm at work and I don't feel comfortable in new jobs to be logging into game websites for posts. I thank all of you for staying this long and apologize that it didn't work out. I'll wrap stuff up over the next few days and close this campaign.

Yah, Ann is in pajamas cos the GM thinks it's funny

Tiff thinks they're still on the Sellen Starling. Going out of the cabin, the party finds Skywin acting erratically, gazing off to the horizon or tilting her head as though listening for a sound that no one else can hear. The party also finds a large sea chest at the aft of the ship and Tiff notices a herd of elephant-like creatures with short trunks and small ears swimming in the water. Tiff has never heard of these creatures in the Inner Sea region.

. A character using Linguistics to translate proceeds at 1/3 the normal rate (requiring three 8-hour sessions instead of one for each Research check and to gain the +1 cumulative bonus), and a character using Linguistics or magic takes a –2 penalty on Research checks due to the possibility of losing context that would have been more obvious in his native language.

Sorry, complexity rating is 20, so can't make research checks untrained. She can however, read for pleasure.

Ann reads the Spiders of Sin and Sky, and thinks there probably are a lot of things she doesn't understand in her altered state..being a ghost and all. She garners that there is a huge party in the city of Celephias, somewhere in the Dreamlands where everyone is invited. And most of the invitees are not human. Medusas, Manticores, Prismatic Dragons and Trolls are often invited to the party.

Now since this isn't a real research check, it's up to you how much you want to believe

VMC no, because I feel it's too much cherry picking of the features you want while trading useless class features for it.

Everyone has to start from somewhere so even if you don't have much PBP history I would say go for it anyway.

Dual talent is fine and no time limitation on enchanting a wizards bonded object.

Feat tax patches are not in play. I am a RAW GM. I do not give freebies like all finesseable weapons are all dex to hit. If you want that, please take weapon finesse.

We are currently in Strange Aeons Book 3.

Posting expectations: Once/day

Should you have RL commitments that make you unable to do so, please inform me in the discussion thread. I’m not totally unreasonable.

The maps will be provided on Google Drive. Please make sure you can access to Google Maps whatever device you’re posting on. I don’t discriminate against phone users, I am one myself.

Now for the lengthy part of the document – I apologize that it is that long – but I need to get the terms and conditions hammered out, so everyone knows what they’re getting into.

Character creation:

Sources: All Paizo(subject to caveats under individual categories). Trap the Soul and Animate dead type spells are not allowed. Sacred Geometry Feat is not allowed. Boots of the Earth are not allowed. No Third party allowed.
Starting Level : 7
Race: Common, Featured and Uncommon races with the following exceptions: No Svirfneblin, Fetchlings and Drow. You cannot create your own Aasimar/Tiefling variants and can only use those found in ARG, Blood of Fiends and Blood of Angels. You cannot roll for variant Aasimar or Tiefling abilities.
Alignment: Any non evil
Class: Any Paizo. No Third Party allowed.
Point Buy - 20
Starting Gold: 23500(as per level 7 wbl)
Deities: All Golarion
Background skills are in play.
HP – max for first level, 1/2max+1 after
You start with 2 traits as per normal.
No PVP.

additional notes on character creation:

As can be seen by what I said about myself, I am a LN GM. Futhermore, as one of the new GMs, I have limited ability to homebrew or change encounters. Therefore with those considerations in mind, I ask all of you to show some restraint in building characters(including characters that may derail the mod/AP in question). That being said, Strange Aeons is not an easy AP.

houserules:

Stealing this one from 5E, I will have everyone take 10 for Perception the moment they enter a new area to find monsters/traps(you’re seasoned adventurers afterall), and the result will be posted in the gameplay thread. If from the description of the room you choose to make more perception checks, you may roll them and I will tell you of the results.
Block Init for enemies. If I have to roll them individually, I’ll go nuts.
Time stops when you're RPing, I will not put any limits on how long you can be speaking among yourselves or NPCs in combat.
Eidolons, Animal Companions and Familiars move on their masters init.
Keep watch spell cannot be used for crafting. Get a ring of sustenance, please. And a portable artificer's lab while you're at it.
In my games, breath of life works against Phantasmal Killer and CDGs. Surprisingly someone has told me it isn’t RAW. But I don’t mind giving this one.
For the purposes of Polymorph spells – you may polymorph only into creatures that are not one of their own kind. I.e you may change yourself into a Gargolyle, but you may not change into Yig, Bokrug (Interpertation: Unless otherwise noted, polymorph spells cannot be used to change into specific individuals.)
The blight (any), deathsnatcher, Euryale, fen mauler, green man, mezlan, rawhead, and vespergaunt—are not legal for polymorph effects.
You may only purchase an animal, mount, or similar creature if its Challenge Rating is lower than that character's level; creatures with a Challenge Rating of 1 or lower are exempt from this restriction, as are horses. Each player may only have one of such a mount/animal/similar creature in combat at any time. Animal companions, familiars, eidolons, phantoms, summoned and called creatures do not count towards that limit.
Trapfinder trait from Mummy’s Mask does not need to be tied to any location. Just insert your favourite tomb, and use it.
I use block init, I will roll saving throws, knowledge checks (for Monster Identification) and AOOs for you to save time.

why trap the soul and animate dead is not allowed:

Players when given too much freedom, take opportunity to start squabbling about it. Now I firmly believe in doing onto others what you want done onto you, and since I don’t like my GM dictating how I should play my character, I don’t like to enforce it on others either. I don’t come here to debate ethics and morality and telling people how to play their characters. So in the name of reducing character conflict, since it’s a sore point with some characters, its banned.

Alignment:

Now alignment is subjective – I’ll give you that. You may put whatever you like (non evil), on your character sheet as your alignment, but I will be the one who decides by your actions what alignment you are. (Aka – Alignment shifts will come from me)
Reasons for this is my Strange Aeons campaign blew up, because players were arguing with me on alignment, and we all know by the paladin fall threads in forums that a discussion of alignment gets nowhere. You’ll be warned that a particular course of actions will be given an alignment shift and given a chance to change your mind before you commit a certain action. And honestly I am generally quite relaxed about alignments.
Casting a spell with the evil descriptor 100 times will cause you to have an alignment swop so please don’t be relying on that infernal healing wand too much.

Treatment of NPCs:

All NPCs come wearing this shirt. You may only attack them on the orders of another NPC(it causes the shirt to disappear), or if they start attacking you (the shirt disappears when they start attacking you(Init is rolled). Attacking NPCs other then in those above stated circumstances will cause an alignment shift.
Of course – if you want to intimidate NPC guards to let you by the gate etc, that’s fine, so as long as no violence was carried out.

Rule discussion:

I am a LN GM. So pretty much it’s by the rulebook. And if you point it out politely and nicely, I would most likely go as what’s written in the book. However there will be times when my interpretation and yours differs or I do not follow RAW – I will usually explain my point and you may discuss with me on it in a civilized manner. If I do not, you have the right to ask me for an explanation, and are allowed to discuss in a civilized manner on it. I may change my decision/retcon things based on what you said, but at the end of the day you need to live with my final decision. Because as GM – I need to keep the game moving, and several days of heated discussion on rules does NOTHING, except piss off both the player and the GM.

I will vet applicants on their post history (more plot pushiness and general positive interaction with party is good), activity and timezones. I do not expect a novella length backstory, nor do I care too much about it.

A few patrons look up from their food and drinks at Kilarra's pronouncement. One of them, a burly, bald man, in a peasant smock, accompanied by two of his friends, a wiry, dark man with curly brown hair under a cap and another unremarkable peasant stands up at the pronouncement, moving towards Kilarra. "Look, I know you lot have done some good here,"He announces, "But you'd better tell that Piotr guy to treat our priestess right or I'll kick his sorry bum."He then returns to his seat with his two friends.

The next day, the party sets off towards the docks, in search of one Captain Skywin Freeling. Asking around, they are directed to a halfling with fiery red hair currently in an argument with the harbourmaster.

"I’m not making them reload it,” says the
fat man in an ill-fitting harbormaster’s
jerkin. “And you’d best be on your way
shortly, shorty.”[/b]
The curly-haired halfling woman
in high leather boots jabs her
finger up at the man.“What do
you mean, you won’t reload it? It’s
loaded wrong! Ships can’t just list to
one side like you drunkards. Hardwood
is heavy and as thick as your skull—
your people loaded it nine stacks
deep to port and three stacks
starboard. I’ve got to get it all the
way to Cassomir, and I won’t make it
if my boat rolls as easy as your sister!”

Piotr:

"I think your mother needed to go to a mage school. One that specialized in mind magic as opposed to actual arcane arts."Winter replies. "But it seemed that she didn't get the help she needed..."Winter sighs.

"You don't know what your sister did except she just showed up with the money?"Winter asks, slightly incredulous. "I suppose at that time you were that desperate that you wouldn't look too closely, but I fear that her means of getting money were likely unlawful."

"When I hear about your upbringing, mine doesn't seem that bad. At least I had someone who believed in me, unlike you." Winter puts her arm around Piotr's shoulders.

"Unfortunately in Ustalav, that's the way of things - for each undead creature you put down, god knows how many are out there rampaging the countryside. I don't really have an answer for you, but we can only do our parts to the best of our ability." Winter says sadly.

The party heads back to the Silver Wagon, where the same pimply waitresses with curly black hair hands them the menu.

"So you're saying Thrushmoor has two more Unidentified Flying Objects?" Cessadia shakes her head. "I sure hope they aren't violent or we have enough trouble on our hands as it is without our Magistrate."

Cessadia follows the party back to Iris Hill then motions to the party to stay back while she starts disabling the runes.

Can take guidance but not aid another as Rose doesn't have trapfinding

disable device: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26

Unfortunately Cessadia fumbles for a moment and the runes glow yellow and explode, but she manages to throw herself out of the way.

ref: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

"Hmm, there's quite a collection here.." Cessadia says as she takes out a sack and looks at the pile of notes and books on the desk and prepares to swipe them into the sack.

"Oh there are some valuables in one of the potted plants."Nemira tells the party."I found them and put it in one place in case I could somehow figure a way to get out of here. Guess I won't be needing them now."

Following Nemira's instructions, the party finds among one of the potted plants in the attic is a folding leather pouch. The bag holds a finely cut emerald (worth 1,000 gp), a silver necklace set with garnets (worth 400 gp), a pair of black pearl earrings (worth 150 gp), a gold ring set with a large diamond (worth 2,500 gp), 13 freshwater pearls (worth 10 gp each), a jade comb (worth 100 gp), and a silver-and-amber bracelet (worth 120 gp).

Nemira closes her eyes as Rose slits her throat. Nemira convulses as she chokes on her own blood for a moment, before her body falls to the ground.

Then a wispy translucent hag with bulbous grey growths and tentacles rises out the body, looking slightly confused, as a translucent man with large tattoos on the torso and thighs, mostly depicting abstract, swirling monstrosities with too many eyes and too many mouths materializes in the attic.

"Clymes?"The translucent hag chokes out. "Is that you?". The translucent man gives the translucent a gentle smile, despite his fearsome appearance, while holding her hand. "Yes it's me."

"All this years you've waited?" She sobs out.

"My beloved, I would not have gone on without you."He reassures her.

Then as if walking through a door only both of them can see, both figures walk through the wall, never to be seen again.

On Nemira's body the party finds a belt with motifs of spiders on it which Piotr identifies as a belt of incredible dexterity (+2) and an obsidian ring which Piotr identifies as a ring of protection (+1).

110k is done. With full support, which is awesome. Because I can run with minimal gear on me and hydration + nutrition is damn on point. Was blessed with rain and generally cool weather throughout the run. And the race director was with us running, so with him yelling at us like a drill sergeant, we didn't get lost much.

Elasped time: 18h 37 min. Which is something that far exceeded my expectations, but I think the race director knows my capabilities better then I know myself. Apparently I have hidden potential that I've never really tapped.

Restricted Activity
In some situations, you may be unable to take a full round’s worth of actions. In such cases, you are restricted to taking only a single standard action or a single move action (plus free and swift actions as normal). You can’t take a full-round action (though you can start or complete a full-round action by using a standard action; see below).

A swift action consumes a very small amount of time, but represents a larger expenditure of effort than a free action. You can perform one swift action per turn without affecting your ability to perform other actions. In that regard, a swift action is like a free action. You can, however, perform only one single swift action per turn, regardless of what other actions you take. You can take a swift action anytime you would normally be allowed to take a free action. Swift actions usually involve spellcasting, activating a feat, or the activation of magic items.

Looks legit to me

Excuse me for just saying my thoughts out loud. I'll say under current house rules, there's no difference between 10min/level spells and 1h/level spells assuming it's the same dungeon. Because most dungeons will have 5-6 encounters. So 10 min/level would be at least 21 encounters, which would mean the entire dungeon. Can I live with that? Hmmm, well, why not.

Mind you if there is distance/travelling time in dungeons/between dungeons, then that's where the 10min/level spells may wear off.

Garrosh has a very satisfying moment of connecting the morningstar with her skull...with her desperately screeching, "We'll meet again...Mark my words!", before the clothes that house her fall to the ground, then dissolve into nothingness.

The party finds a pair of two square, brass-colored metal plates that have rubber edges and screws at each corner used to tighten the plates like a clamp, lying on the floor. In the center of the top plate is a fleshy tube that ends in a suction cup ringed with tiny teeth. Pitor identifies them as
Confabulation Plates

Garrosh also finds a secret passage in the wall, leading ominously into the darkness below. Baldhart feels a tug on her heartstrings to go down.

Baldharts arrow does scratch the denizen of leng's back.

"Hahahaha,"The denizen of leng laughs mockingly. "I was the one who lead you to Lowls, all of you who would do anything for your goals."

"For both of them," She gestures at Garrosh and Kilarra. "It was vengeance. For you, it was love and guilt." She replies to Piotr.

"There were others too. Some were looking for answers or a cure. Others - Power beyond imagination," She muses almost to herself.

Kilarra retreats to the cavern hiding behind the elder things. The dire rats rush out of the aqueduct, attacking the nearest target in sight, namely the elder thing.

bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The tentacled ones gurgle abit in a confused manner while looking at the party puzzled, then decide to take matters into their own tentacles.

tentacle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
tentacle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
tentacle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

The one nearest to the dire rat crushes it with a flurry of tentacles, then the other tentacled one picks up the lifeless body, stares at it for a while, then drops it into its mouth, chews it, then gives a big broad grin.

Spoiled for length:

The damage is such that the moment they land 2 hits, one dire rat dies.

bite: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

tentacle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
tentacle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

tentacle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
tentacle: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

The party watches, bemused as the two tentacled creatures take turns to kill the rats, then pop them into their mouths. In about 2 minutes, there are no more rats coming out of the aqueduct. However the party catches sight of the rats with tails tied together briefly, before seeing the fate of its compatriots and retreating back into the aqueduct.

Now what?

Doesn't seem to tax me at all,

Winter memorized the hymn. It wasn't in any book. But since you heard her, and you rolled a high perform score, I'll take it that you duplicate how the hymn was meant to be sung

Winter listens to Hanako sing the hymn as she hums the accompaniment with Baldhart, doing a decent job about it.

perform sing: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

At the end of Hanako's performance, Winter sighs enviously. "Now I know why I was never assigned to lead the choir in Pharsama's church."

Ann opens up the book and ends up on the page of Night hags - describing them as sharp fanged old crone usually garbed in grisly fetishes and rags. They prefer to kill their prey slowly, haunting their dreams night after night, these hags trap the tormented souls of their victims within dark gems so they might be sold in the infernal markets of the outer planes.

Turning a couple of pages past...more frivolous entries reveals that Magistrate Padgett's funds were running low, due to Count Lowls constantly drawing money from the county treasury to fund his scholarly pursuits. He remarks that he would soon be unable to pay the county dues to Caliphas, despite trying to scrimp and save by not paying the mercenaries defending the fort. He reasoned in his journal that the Fort being a fortified position - may deter supernatural attackers as peasants were easier prey. He also noted that it may not be too long before Caliphas sent someone to investigate if their dues were not paid soon.

Spent the beginning of the week with my hubbie.
All over Singapore we scurried.
Then I brought him to x Park at Bounce.
Now he's lying on the couch declaring he's trounced.

On Monday I joined OCR Fit for their training, as their coach wasn't around, his assistant gave us an "easier" workout.

It involved 1.6km of running, then:

100 shoulder swings at inverted row position
200 push ups
300 jump squats

To be broken up in whatever way we chose to do.

I chose to do 10 sets of:
10 shoulder swings at inverted row position
20 push ups
30 jump squats

Then another 1.6 km of running, and we finished off with 21 burpees.

The jump squats bothered me the least since I'm somewhat of a squat master - ever knocked off 104 body weight squats in 2 min. But push-ups were hell. I know I neglect my push muscles because rock climbing emphasizes on pull more then push. If it comes to push its likely the - can you do a dip check already, as you push against two rocks to start a route.

Yes, I can do a 2 min plank anytime I want to = P

The only problem was tuesday was my weights day...and needless to say, all my push stations s*cked big time. I was doing half my usual reps for overhead press and bench press. The rest not that bad except I think my grip strength also wasn't quite there since that 40 kg barbell felt a bit slippish on the final few reps.

BTW - I'm around 52 kg just to put it into perspective so if you're talking about raw numbers on weights, I can't really lift all that much.

I'm beginning to think I need to reschedule when I do my weights because its the 2nd week running that I've had really crappy push performance in the gym. I know it's definitely the monday workout fault because come Thursday, I'm doing my usual reps as per normal. So it wasn't a "I am feeling off" week.

Having a nephew stay over busy I have been,
By the river side walking my nephew and I were seen.
Also his paws are a little short for the climbing wall,
He needs to learn to compensate for it or he won't get up at all.

It's not an impossible task for it is one I have to do.
Short cats can still climb as well as anyone too.

My nephew(aged 7) to the wall tomorrow I will bring.

Excited I am to see his reaction to this new thing.

He has climbed but a long time back,

I wonder if climbing skills he will lack?

You get to find out several books down the road for the viol. Its just masterwork for now.

On a wall there should only be one,
Since if someone falls on you, you're done.

And in clothings that bare your forepaws you should climb,
Since anything with sleeves would affect your mobility and be a waste of time.

But your hindpaws covered up they should be,
For rocks can be very sharp and grazes come easy.

I think a climb clinic is what I need.
Being shown a proper beta I reached the top indeed.

My mind can't comprehend the moves quite well,
But my body can carry them out, Swell!

Ouch on the blister. 2 hours is a good time for a half marathon if im not mistaken. Certainly beats the heck out of what I could do.

2h or sub 2 is better but it's a bit hard to do it in the tropics. Too hot. I don't even suggest that you run a half marathon without training first.

Blister on my paw was because I didn't wear my mittens properly.

I ran a half marathon in about 2h 9 min and 58s today. Would have been faster but I turned off my run app by pawing it by mistake while midrun and didn't realize it until much later. So I actually ran 20.9km instead of 21.1km as the pacer who didn't know any better told me to just run to finish point instead of looping cos we ran an extra long loop the last set. I am taking the pacers timing since there's no way I can't cover 200m in 2 min..

Also got a blister on my paw.

Where have I been...running marathons by myself since all races have gone virtual, or been cancelled.

Spartan sprint on 7th November has been postponed till 2021. So I decided to run a marathon to see:

a) If I can
b) Because there's nothing else to do.

So my timing for that 42.2k would be 5 h 23 min 29 s.

My company has sold one out of the two vessels so we only have one vessel to deal with.

Climbing wise...

Here are my latest trophies:

Black rocks only - difficulty - 6a/6a+, but I hate slopers. Besides its a lot of high knees which is a bit hard for small cats like me.

White rocks only - difficulty - 6b/6b+

I've also joined my running group on the standard chartered virtual marathon and I'm now holding 4th place for distance covered this month (the top 3 are beyond my reach). I'm a turtle type runner. I'm willing to put in time to run, but I run at a turtle pace - so at the end of the day I can't really clock that much distance.

Besides the top 3 runners are probably those who have trained for years - I can't match them for mileage - I tried running 15 km 3 days in a row and even though it can be done, I was pretty much flat on the 4th day. There are lucky draw prizes to be won in the challenges - this week's challenge is to run 10 km. I've already done in 3 times, I'm going to head off to try again - it'll probably take me 1h 10 min + since I am in no hurry.

"Hmm. I could ask Winter to help - she is a cleric of Pharasma afterall." Cesadia muses. "Where's this Naysa you're speaking off at the moment?"

Or should Winter be helping someone else ;)

Ok, back to regular scheduled programming. It's been a hectic 5 days manning the box but I did spend one morning doing 32 plyometric push ups, 30 inverted rows, 45 box jumps, 3 min shuttle running around and 5 min plank, another morning doing a 12 km run.

Then after the funeral, the next day I bought myself a $25 ticket to X-Park. (That's an example of someone else doing it not me)

The first part of the obstacle course was removed - so no jumping on blocks etc. Bouldering wall, not a problem, but wedge run I couldn't bounce from side to side. My first attempts was literally standing broad jump and clutch side of the wedge, though later I did manage running jump. On the last run(I tried the obstacle course 3 x), I tried side to side and second last part, I did it, but the last block I bounced and crashed against the foam wall. Oops >.<

For the jumping over blocks part I walked onto the black portion. Then just gathered myself to tuck jump. I can't continuously jump like the instructor. Tranverse was well...okay I suppose(bit longer then what I usually do for monkey bar distance)? I can't skip bars, but I did the full hand over hand thing - since at the end of the day I have been training monkey bars on my own.

Spider wall - I can't vault like the pros, my version of spider wall is more like move hand, move single foot, move other foot, but yes, I can stick on the wall (It actually surprised the crap out of me that sticking to the wall wasn't as hard as expected). I don't slip off like Bridget did except the time when my shoe fell off and after that I tied my shoes more tightly after. Its more like using your hips (to push your feet to smear the wall) and palms to press against the wall and you generally want your hands and legs aligned in a straight line else its a lot of hip strength to do it.

Rings = epic fail. Cannot even swing from one ring to another. The wall run - I am unable to do it since I don't know how to get enough momentum. I tried. Also I suspect that Bridget is taller then me and has greater reach.

Slack lines = epic fail, I fell off. Heh my balance isn't THAT good >.<

Sea of pipes I think Bridget did it more easily then me, since I had problems doing the wrap around bar thing with my feet(I tried). What I chose to do instead was to grab on the bar, and stand on the balls, doing something close to a split before shifting my weight and foot on to the next ball.

Took me about 15 min to run the entire course doing whatever I could do.
