If I can't have my quick-runner's shirt, limit (1) per character, then no way to this.

Grand Lodge

Sorcerer: Yes. Barbarian: No.

Could be that most would wear medium armor.

<Insert headless chicken on a skill wheel joke>

I think from the "Marriage" stand-point. Anything of yours is also her's. I don't think anyone has the audacity to make this an issue.

Could you or anyone else explain what you mean by "favored class - spell known"? I'm looking at racial favored classes and can't seem to find anything that explains this. Also, shift?

Grand Lodge

Sounds similar to a couple of Luchador's in my area. Or the Bro-barians from another.

Grand Lodge 4/5

I have:

- Sylph/Suli (3)
- Debt to Society (lol Life Insurance)
- Ifrit

Wouldn't mind me playing a Ratfolk.

It's difficult enough as it is to find a group to run EotT.

I can imagine J.G. Wentworth getting in on this. "It's my star and I need it now!"

Grand Lodge 4/5

Sounds a bit overkill for a game of 3-5's.

Grand Lodge

If I'm going 'blaster' with sorc(1)/Wiz(x), which schools should I oppose in?

Grand Lodge

This is definitely a lot of to take in at once. I'll make another post soon after I finish drawing up the rough draft and let you guys butcher it then.

Grand Lodge

When I was conceiving this character in my mind. It was going to be a gnome and she likes to play with fire. So in essence, I figured she would be a 'blaster' but with versatility.

I feel like I can be invested with this character and I only have one other that is the same way. Last time I went and made a character out of the blue, I ended up hating him. Which probably explains why I pre-gen games a lot.

Grand Lodge

This sums up all our bad d20's.

Grand Lodge

One level in Gunslinger, the rest in Cleric.

Pros
- Divine caster
- Great support
- Heals!
- When you aren't casting, you can be shooting holes into things.

Cons
- Loosens a GM's restraint on killing your party. Now that combat healing is a case. I'm sure not all gm's do this.
- Most of your turns can or will be devoted to healing.
- "That guy is healing! Get'em!" Become a priority target.
- Shooting in touch range puts you closer to enemies.

Grand Lodge

Assuming this spawn doesn't cause you to explode in a viscera. I think a simple raise dead or resurrection will suffice.

Grand Lodge

By next monday, I will have enough pre-gen and gm credit to start this character at level 3.

Things I have already considered taking:
- Gnome with Lava Gnome racials
- Tattooed Sorcerer
- Spell focus and penetration feats.
- Elemental Bloodline

Seeing as this is my first non-divine caster. Things I could use help with:
- What would you prefer for Ability point allocation.
- Level Progression, should I dip or go prestige?
- Things I should/must buy.

Please note that the character is not been conceived yet.

Grand Lodge

Bloodrager with the cleestial bloodline is a good class to dip into if you don't want to pay for Holy. Too bad it's only limited to outsider until you get Holy.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Unless the secondary success condition utilizes the faction mission for their second prestige, then yes.

Sometimes, I do like to give them out. I don't expect them to complete it but it's fun to add more to the game that was taken away.

Grand Lodge

Sadly, no. It does not.

Grand Lodge 4/5

"Welcome to another exciting edition of Pathfinder Society on ice."

Grand Lodge 4/5

As Sniggevert mentioned above already. I'm only aware of Suli's being playable by Voltron'ing Sylph, Oread, Ifrit and Undine boons sheets.

We didn't need a bigger boat after all - Defeat an aquatic monster two size categories larger than your own boat and without it sinking.

I am the Tank-Healer-Damage-Dealer - Heal 30 hit points, deal 30 points of damage and take 30 points of damage in a single encounter.

Holy SH--! - Go from full to negative hit points in one round.

'Tis but a flesh wound - Finish an entire scenario or module after losing one or more limbs.

High-Tier in a Nutshell - TPK on the first encounter.

The Party is Just Starting - Alert and fight off more than one group in a single encounter.

Grand Lodge

A Human element we all must learn to bear with.

On a side note, have you ever seen one enter a warehouse, set off fire-traps. Continue to move around and set off more fire traps?

I think I'll scratch that one off my bucket list.

In my experience, I prefer not to GM a game I haven't played but sometimes it cannot be helped when GM's are needed.

When I do play a game I've ran, I:

- Alert the GM.
- Allow others to make the decisions and assist them.
- Be oblivious as best as possible.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Live dangerously and leave them at home. Like I do all the time.

Correct me if I'm wrong but did you mean "Combat Expertise"? If so, you'll need Int 13 instead of 11.

Grand Lodge 4/5

I find myself playing Kyra for tables than my own.

"Okay, what do we have? Melee, melee, melee, a ranger. Alright, I'm going Kyra."

Grand Lodge 4/5

While I cannot prove that the VL's are pulling favorites, I'm upset that they wouldn't attempt max out what's available. 22 players and 4 tables. 5/5/4/4/4 could have worked for a 1-5 scenario. I even took into account couples & friends. I spent a whole month waiting to run this and never been so disappointed in Society.

Grand Lodge

I've learned enough having played a Cleric that TPK's have been avoided primarily by being a smart and resourceful healer. If you aren't healing, you could be aiding with spells. If you aren't doing that, you could be readying an action. Even going through a few wands of Cure Light Wounds was more resourceful than running out of Channels or spells where the scenario only gives you one day.

Grand Lodge

All my racials are by default.

@Imbicatus: Yeah, another player mentioned his Tongue monk long before I created this one.

@Arthanthos: I finally got why people kept mentioning Wakizashi's. That threat range.

@LeesusFreak: Surprisingly enough, all my VL/VC's would rather have rogues than ninja's.

Grand Lodge

Forgot to say this as well. I looked at Sawtooth Sabre's and if you run it with Exotic Weapon Proficiency, I can treat them as light weapons for the purpose of TWF. A step up from a d6 to an 8. However, it's back to being feat starved.

Grand Lodge

Oh, durr. I forgot to mention that my swords are already Agile.

@Kikidmonkey: My life always feels complete when I get a sneak or two.

Pirahna Strike definitely feels like a plus on the number of attacks I'm able to perform.

@Tangora: That's an interesting combo.

@Secret Wizard: My con without the belt is 15 (a point from leveling up way back) And the name of the feature you're looking for is Skirmisher. The only way I can see getting around combat fatigue is Invigorate. Also, I already have Iron Will as well as Improved.

Definitely liking the input here. <3

A Long Story
-----------------------
So I finally retired my first character in Society play last weekend and my last game showed me that I am not ready for anything 12 or higher if this will be a recurring theme. So it got me thinking.

What happened in my last game: The Sealed Gate 5-#20

Spoiler:
The first encounter

Our group
- TWF Rogue
- Freebooter Ranger (I'm not entirely sure what he was.)
- Sorcerer
- Cleric

I'd prefer to not make a rant about this. However, I was effectively useless in this situation given the difficulty as well as our group composition. I was incapable of dealing with the multitude of Swarms. I was oblivious to the Swarmbane Clasp at the time and they pretty much ate through my celestial armor as well as one of my +1 Cold Iron Shortsword. Also not being able to receive a flank for the two big bug demons made my 1d6+8 (five attacks total) awful than it already is. We can get to that later. In the long run, combat was a success despite the death of our Cleric (though we went back to town and started fresh again) and the remainder of the Scenario was a breeze.

The character Stats
Tengu Rogue
STR: 13, DEX: 20, CON: 17, INT: 10, [b]WIS: 12, [b]CHA: 10

I could have easily moved points around however I was still new to PFRPG as well as my second character. I also didn't like the idea of having negative scores.

HP105
Current Levels in Classes
(9) Swordmaster Rogue
(1) Urban Barbarian
(1) Two-Weapon Warrior (planning on using my 12th level here)

Feats Taken/Class Talents
Two Weapon Fighting/Improved, Trap Spotter, Bleeding Attack, Finesse Rogue,
Weapon Focus (Shortswords), Combat Trick (Double Slice), Combat Reflexes,
Dodge, Iron Will(boon)/Improved, Improved Critical (Shortswords)

AC28/30, Touch18/20, Flat-Footed22/24
Fort12, Ref13, Will8

Skills
Acro:21, Bluff:4, Climb: 3, Dis. Dev: 15, Esc. Art: 9, Fly: 3,
Heal: 1, Kn; Nature: 5, Local: 11, Nob: 5, Ling: 16, Perc: 22,
Prof: 12, Ride: 3, Sense M.: 5, Stealth: 18, Surv: 6, Swim: 3, UMD, 4

Gear
(2) +1 Cold Iron Shortsword
Celestial Armor
---------------------------
Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier
Eyes of the Eagle
Amulet of Natural Armor +1
Cloak of Resistance +3
Snakeskin Tunic
Spring-Loaded Wrist Sheath
Gloves of Reconnaissance
Ring of Protection +1
Belt of Mighty Con +2
Boots of Elven Kind

At the end of the Scenario, a few things were brought up to me.
- In cases where I can't get sneak attacks. My base damage alone is not enough.
- I cannot dex-rage forever. Seven rounds is poor.
- I lack in DR penetration. I've only had CI weapons forever.
- I need more HP.

So please, be brutal but insightful.

I would assume the event code would have to check out?

Grand Lodge 4/5

I got an Ifreet boon sheet and "Debt to Society" on my first game I GM'd at our first mini-con.

Too bad I don't know if I'll ever get around to using it. ):

Grand Lodge 4/5

Absolutely not.

Grand Lodge

So I've reached that point in my society life where I'm going to explore multi-classing but I have no clue what it means towards my favored class.

The things I assume:
I get the BaB, HD, Ft/Rf/Wi saves and skill points but do I also acquire the class skills? Or does my favored prevent that? I would hope so cause that'd be silly but amazing if it didn't.

Also, because it's a level 1 class/etc. Does that grant me the extra feat?

I am curently a Swordmaster Rogue dipping into Urban Barbarian.

Grand Lodge 4/5

So I am DM'ing my first PFS game Among the Living and I've read the PDF at least four times. However, I am nervous, scared, and riddled with anxiety. I am trying to recall the steps of how our level 0 game went and trying to simulate it like so but I would like to have PC's appreciate my own effort. I was told by my VC that there was a section here on the forums that has a run down of each mod. From Point A to B. Any chance someone can point me in the direction or maybe coach me a bit?

Grand Lodge

I will admit that my first three games at level 1 was atrocious when trying to hit anything with melee. I was better off using my shortbow until LVL 2 and pick up finesse rogue.

Grand Lodge

I've recently overheard a conversation from my last Society game in regards to E.C.B's being optimal for dex classes. Do I have to take a size lower in order to two-weapon fight with it? It's a shame I'm not a part of my Venture Captain's inner circle on non-game days or I wouldn't have to be posting these kinds of things here. Oh, and before I forget. This is a rogue.

Grand Lodge

Okay, so I have a concept of what I need to do to better my self in combat.

Now, here's where you all will probably laugh but how does upgrading weapons and armor work? I've only played a cleric before this so I've been buying wonderous items to increase my spells. Never my ac or dmg.

Nope. But, you also qualify for weapon focus at level two anyway so it makes no difference.

Derp, I was thinking Specialization.

Grand Lodge

Would taking Combat Trick bypass the prerequisites for Weapon Focus? Assuming I'm only staying as one class and not multi.

Grand Lodge

Oooh, okay. That makes more sense.

Grand Lodge

blackbloodtroll wrote:

Are you unable to multiclass or take an archetype of Rogue?

Does not PFS allow for a rebuild prior to 2nd?

My first take on making this PC did have Swordmaster but I just wasn't fond of the abilities at all. And yes, after my third game, my decisions have to be final before printing out my lvl 2 sheet. I think. o.o;

Weapon Finesse for another +2 to hit. Put points in Acrobatics so you can get into flanking position to use your Sneak Attack for bonus damage. I should also like to tell you to get an elven curved blade for better damage, but you already took the two-weapon feat.

I don't see +2 attk anywhere on that descriptor.

Grand Lodge

DrDeth wrote:

Invest in stuff that makes you survivable. I have found that once a rogue does get into the nice flanking posn, the bad guy just "turns" and drops him.

Toughness feat, rogue talents that allow you to live longer (Resiliency , etc).

Put your favored class bonus into HP. etc.

That actually sounds good. I've also seen that happen to a glass cannon before. The mob was already focusing on the closest pc. The pc misses. Another pc flanks and hits. The mob turns around and wrecks him.

Grand Lodge

@Ciaran: I am always looking for those "opportunities" like flanking but as long as it doesn't but me in severe danger.

@Thomas: I won't be able to take Weapon Focus until 3 and I had plans to take Finesse. Also, I am not a fighter.

Grand Lodge

I am aware that I am no tank. I'm not that suicidal. I plan to take this character until death or retirement from society. Fighter/Barbarian/Ranger is on my list of things to play next. As I already have a level 4, soon to be 5, Cleric in society.
