Aura of Good (Ex)The power of a paladin's aura of good (see the detect good spell) is equal to her paladin level.
Detect Evil (Sp)At will, a paladin can use detect evil, as the spell. A paladin can, as a move action, concentrate on a single item or individual within 60 feet and determine if it is evil, learning the strength of its aura as if having studied it for 3 rounds. While focusing on one individual or object, the paladin does not detect evil in any other object or individual within range.
Smite Evil (Su) Once per day, a paladin can call out to the powers of good to aid her in her struggle against evil. As a swift action, the paladin chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is evil, the paladin adds her Cha bonus (if any) to her attack rolls and adds her paladin level to all damage rolls made against the target of her smite. If the target of smite evil is an outsider with the evil subtype, an evil-aligned dragon, or an undead creature, the bonus to damage on the first successful attack increases to 2 points of damage per level the paladin possesses. Regardless of the target, smite evil attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess.

In addition, while smite evil is in effect, the paladin gains a deflection bonus equal to her Charisma modifier (if any) to her AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the paladin targets a creature that is not evil, the smite is wasted with no effect.

The smite evil effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the paladin rests and regains her uses of this ability. At 4th level, and at every three levels thereafter, the paladin may smite evil one additional time per day, as indicated on Table: Paladin, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level.

Description:
Jaro is tall, handsome, serious man. He wears his brown hair long but neat, and doe his best to keep up the appearance and functionality of his weapons and armor. He also like to wear a reversable blue cloak, dark blue when trying to move incognito and bright blue when wishing to be seen. He does this as an gentle affront to House Thrune's red and black garb.

Personality:
Jaro is a lawful good paladin trying to make his way through his lawful evil-run country. His noble house has fallen into obsurity. He has no love for House Thrune and what they have ultimately done to his country. He looks for opportunity to help lesser houses who do know approve of the way Cheliax is run by Hell-obbessed nobility and Cheliax'a downtrodded, without making himself known. Jaro skulks around his own country trying to defeat the evils within.

Background:
Jaro was born in House Vasilis, an ostracized lesser house of Cheliax. House Vasilis met it's downfall by publicly decrying House Thrune's infernal methods to power early in Queen Abrogail the First's reign. Jaro's paternal and maternal grandfathers and all his grand-uncles were captured and burned at the stake. Jaro's father and mother were spared and to bare the burden of their grandfather's rebellous acts.
Jaro would have grown up to be another spoiled lesser noble, except when he was picking at a small hole in his grandfather's old study to accidentally find a secret door leading to a small library of now-contrband religious texts. He read them voraciously and was excited by the stories of Evil conquered by Good. Jaro identified with the angelic slayer of devils, Ragathiel. Jaro slowly began to live under Ragathiel's example, except Jaro had to be more discreet, less he bring House Thrune's wraith down upon House Vasilis for a second time.
Jaro's parents did not understand their eldest son's decision to become a paladin, especially in modern-day Cheliax, but quietly wished him well.
Jaro did what he could to help his fellow exiled houses and Cheliax's downtrodden without bringing undue attention from Cheliaxian officials or The Hellknights. During this time, it seems everyone is taking of an upcoming war in the taverns and public squares of Cheliax. Some unseen horror on the horizon. On a moonless night, Jaro was sleeping in a tavern inn, when he had a sudden violent dream of a shining, flaming angel that looked a lot like Ragathiel, shouted at Jaro to visit the small town of Vivario to "get his new orders". Jaro now has travelled to Vivario, where he has stayed at a small inn for the last few nights, waiting for his destiny.

I wish Jaro to continue his devotion to Ragathiel, taking levels in Mystery Cultist PrC.
