So Reekis is smart, but not "smart smart". He can work out how to unlock a tricky lock and lift coin from a mark's pocket, but not when to just shut the f%*# up. And not shutting the f~&! up has got him into trouble. Saying what people actually thought about the guild's new leaders meant that his friends were found sporting the red smile and he had to leave Oregent in a hurry. Now he's stuck in the furthest place his funds could carry him, wondering what to do next. And hoping that his former friends on the guild never find out where he's gone.

And to top it all, now he's got a really bad cough...
