A middling height human enters the room and looks around. He's wearing giant headphones which you can hear blaring music at an unhealthy volume, even from this distance. The human has shoulder length brown hair. He is wearing the standard Avalon uniform, though all the colours have been retooled into brighter versions of the themselves, sometimes to the point of eye strain.
He's known somewhat around the school as a remixer of music, though when he's DJing he doesn't seem to be dancing to the music he's playing, his body catching a different beat. Even now he's tapping his foot to a different beat than the one which can be heard thumping through his headphones.
::Well hey everyone.::his telepathic voice comes out smooth as silk. He signs the same to anyone who approaches.
J.J hears their gunner call out orders and his lips tightened. They had taken several hits he hadn't managed to juke, so J.J. puts the ship in a slow roll making the Drake's movements slightly erratic as he fires thrusters here and there to dodge incoming fire.
I may bot Karyn (as Birgin said he may not be available till after new years) to fill the hole in our forward shields so that Sauros can still fire the particle beam (otherwise I was going to point our side at them).
I'll include that action as a spoiler in my post, and if others disagree I will rescind it.
Actually, just gonna keep port pointed at them for now, and Karyn can do something else with her action. (partially cause I can't get us facing their butt this turn)
I have also been busy with holidays stuff. Glad you are doing alright. I am out of town from the 22nd to the 27th, but I will still have my phone so I will be able to do some light posting.
::Their aft is where their best weapons are, but I'll try to keep us alive! Karyn, if you aren't busy with anything else, double-up on forward shields!:: JJ says as he focuses on dodging incoming missiles and fire.
Hmm, I believe you forgot that Piloting ranks from the pilot get added to AC. With JJ's 8 ranks, our AC is 24 and our TL is 23, meaning neither attack hit.
Unless there are hidden bonuses of which I am not aware, in which case apologies!
::We need to keep out from behind it. That is a mean torpedo they've got there.:: JJ says into the ships' telepath circuit, broadcasting his thoughts to the rest of the crew.
Burning a RP for Full Power, allowing us to travel 12 hexes at Turn 4 for this turn.
I am heading home now so eta 30-45 minutes to post. Is it possible to rotate tokens by 60° to account for facing? I guess I will find out when I get home xD
Do we have any info that is in the spoiler re: King Xeros' ship stats?
Also I just realized I failed to do this. All my other characters are in games right now so I will apply the Chronicle to this one.

Day Job: Can we use Dayjobs when Pregenning? If so, Profession (Doorman):1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
JJ watches as his teammates go to work, quickly overcoming the challenges of ransacking the place for information. Deciding that everything is well in-hand, JJ will instead search for more mystical source, to be sure.
Just in case, I'm going to cast Detect Magic and sweep the area for magical auras.
Apologies for my silence yesterday, work is busy around the holiday season. I can squeeze in a post now but probably will not be posting for another 24 hrs from this post (I have to close tonight and then open tomorrow >_< ). I might manage some commentary or a small post from my phone.
Also, I could help with the Bluff check altogether with Parallel Form, a new witchwarper spell. Level 2 spell, is Disguise Self, but also mimics the mannerisms of whomever you as disguising as, and 1 creature/level. I could make ALL of us into the Commander :D
JJ finishing his verse and lifts the frosty rifle up, triggers the boosting mechanisms and squeezes the trigger. There's the sound like a great piece of ice cracking.
Cold Streetsweeper /w Harrying Fire vs EAC:1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 2 = 16
Dang it! You know what, Burning Alternate Outcome for a reroll!
Yeah I'm having a blast Hmm, thanks for running it :D
Yeah the Witchwarper is a blast. I was thinking.... it specifically says you can change things like the damage type of lava in a volcanic caldera. I normally run that if you get submerged in lava it's 20d6 fire damage every round with no save (I think this is an old 3.5 rule)... poor fire immune creatures when suddenly their lava is swapped with liquid nitrogen. XD
JJ can't help but laugh as the Azlanti attempts to flee from Xesh. JJ simply attempts to warp reality again - replacing it with a reality where the Azlanti did not attempt or did not succeed in flying away.
Move Action to once again use Shifting Step on the Azlanti. Will Save DC 19 or he is forced to move again. Diagonal down and to the right for the first 5' and then 5' down for 10' total. Puts him right back into Xesh's reach.
JJ can hardly resist a dance off challenge, and begins to reply in kind, dancing himself as he warps his gun, causing it to act differently...
Casting Shifting Surge, my weapon will hit for an extra 2d6 on the next attack, and will deal Cold damage.
::Alright stop.
Collaborate and listen.
Ice is back with my brand new damage
You can't get away we got you tightly
The Starfinders win daily and nightly
Will we ever stop?
Yo, I don't know.
Turn off the lights and your base glows
We broke it, we rocked it like a vandal
We lit up this stage and wax you chumps like a candle::
If you support types can make him easier to hit that would be helpful. I just know I'm going to wiff next turn xD
I thought Infinite Worlds was a bit lackluster when I first read it but now I realize you can create Hard/Total cover basically anywhere once you can raise/lower terrain.
I think the best thing for Infinite Worlds to do in this case is to raise Xesh up 10ft towards the specialist. The intent of thw ability is to warp terrain only, I don't think it would lower the Azlanti if he is still flying.
JJ draws his Streetsweeper from the side holster as his uses his hasted speed to move away from the babbling alien. He levels the weapon at the Azlanti.
::Speaking of can't touch this... Have you hit anything yet? For all your fancy gunplay and talk of superiority, you aren't able to back it up.:: JJ smarms back at the Azlanti before pulling the trigger twice.
Using hasted move action to move and draw weapon, then Full Attack Thunderstrike Streetsweeper vs Cyan EAC:1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 10 - 4 = 13Damage (So):1d10 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 Thunderstrike Streetsweeper vs Cyan EAC:1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 10 - 4 = 23Damage (So):1d10 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
A pair of *crack* of thunder can be heard, but the Azlanti can feel tjem reverberating his very being.
Seeing both the near Aeon Guard fall and the battle swiftly devolving into a melee, JJ puts up his cannon to the shoulder slot, where the mechanized grasper attached to his armour takes the weapon and slings it across his back.
Move action to stow weapon
JJ looks at the remaining Azlanti and focuses his mind on him, concentrating... and then flooding the Azlanti's mind with a loud thumping bass, filling his mind so that no other sensory data can go in or out. He signs STOP as he does...
Casting Hold Person, DC17 on the specialist (Cyan).
If the Azlanti fails his save, he will point out the target to his allies and deliver a telepathic message. ::Hammertime!::
The venom spur is a type of Biotech augmentation which is linked here.
Short Answer:
It's not a typical poison. When afflicted and at the start of their turn they have to make a save. Any time they fail their save they take 2d6 damage. 1 save ends the effect
As a side note, no save against the Confusion counteragent seems too strong to me.
Blast weapons you roll for each target's AC individually, but only damage once.
The weapon is a LFD Screamer from the Core Rulebook, can be read here
Basically, whenever I fire the weapon, I get 1 attack against anyone inside the cone (at -2, which I've included), but I only roll damage once. Anyone whom I miss, their armour protected them from the attack (or similar).
Blast Rules:
This weapon fires in a cone that extends only to its first range increment. You can’t use it to attack creatures beyond that range.
For each attack you make with a weapon with the blast special property, roll one attack against each target in the cone, starting with those closest to you. Each attack takes a –2 penalty in addition to other penalties, such as the penalty to all attacks during a full attack. Roll damage only once for all targets. If you roll one or more critical hits, roll the extra critical damage only once (or any other special effects on a critical hit that require you to roll) and apply it to each creature against which you score a critical hit. You can’t avoid shooting at allies in the cone, nor can you shoot any creature more than once.
Attacks with blast weapons ignore concealment. A blast weapon doesn’t benefit from feats or abilities that increase the damage of a single attack (such as the operative’s trick attack). Ammunition for blast weapons is designed for blast attacks, so you spend the usage amount only once for each cone of attacks.
JJ grins and lines up another blast, timing the firing of the bass cannon with the tempo of the music only he can hear (and definitely off tempo from the music blasting through his earphones).
BWAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Should hit all of them again with 60ft cone. Placing the origin on the bottom-right point of JJ's square and firing diagonally, so Sauros and Xesh aren't in danger of being hit. Should be able to angle it slightly upwards as well to hit the flying one.
LFD Screamer vs Red EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 LFD Screamer vs Green EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 LFD Screamer vs Yellow EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 LFD Screamer vs Cyan EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
Damage (So):2d10 + 8 ⇒ (7, 7) + 8 = 22
JJ also has a Move Action to spare. Using it I can use Shifting Step shift any ally 10ft in any direction (or enemy, pending a Will save). Alas it cannot be used to shove the Azlanti into the fire. First person who speaks up that they want it can take it.
JJ sees that he's about to be engulfed in flames and attempt to pull something from another reality to help him. There's a noticable bass BWAAAH and the sudden shift in air pressure from the soundwaves diverts most of the flames.
JJ was about to warp reality to speed up his comrades when he feels magic coursing through him, and glances at Matarno with a grin. He signs a quick thanks and then he is off, zooming to the fore of the battlefield and lining up his cannon.
Move forward to stand in line with Sauros, fire Bass Cannon. Hits all of them
Screamer vs Red EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 Screamer vs Green EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 Screamer vs Cyan EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Screamer vs Yellow EAC:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Sitting comfortably in the Pilot's chair, as they exit the drift, JJ watches the feed from the computer translate the audio from the other ships and the internal discussion. Greenhouse it is. He plugs his datapad into his console to prepare.
JJ's uses one console to get the computer to fire thrusters for him during his upcoming maneuver while attempting to navigate through the outer Azlanti defenses.
With the computer programmed and his course planned, JJ telepathically says to the Captain: ::Tell them to hold onto their butts! Here we go!::
JJ pushes a button in his datapad, and the bridge is filled with loud, bassy music. JJ grins.
Essentially it's a skillcheck challenge where you can take various actions during a round. Each position has a "primary" skill check (except Captains), which they can use to perform actions. The roles are as follows:
Captain: Uses Diplomacy, Intimdate, and also has uses for Engineering, Piloting, and Computers. (It technically has a use for Bluff too, but you can use Intimidate instead)
Pilot: Uh. Piloting. Ya
Science Officer: Computers.
Engineer: Take a guess.
Gunners: Either BAB or Piloting ranks, plus Dex.
JJ grins and blushes a little at Sauros reaction, but signs him back a short greeting with a smile.
JJ had taken the same Akiton Red as Karyn, though had subtly replaced it with a reality where it had been sitting a while. Now that the tea was a drinkable temperature, JJ sipped at it while following along to the hangar bay.
Culture:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Deciding to skip signing in such a busy environment, JJ instead speaks telepathically, once again adjusting his headphones before doing so. ::I nominate the Drake. Handling is a bit poor, but she's sturdy enough get us on the ground.::
Definitely something to ask in the playtest. Given the prevalence of energy damage in Starfinder, DR isn't as OP anymore, so I would probably allow your interpretation at my tables.
An affable looking young man with shoulder length brunette hair and green eyes walks in and grins at Charli. The faint sound of loud music can be heard from the headphones resting over his ears. He waits patiently while she talks, and once she appears done, he begins to sign to her: Hi! Name is James Jones. You can call me JJ. Do you sign?
If met by a blank stare or other indication he was not understood, He will then adjust the headphones on his head slightly, pressing a button on one ear. He will then project a telepathic message to all those within 30 feet, Charli included: ::Hi. My name is James Jones, but you can call me JJ.:: JJ's telepathy does not contain a "voice", but instead impressions, pictures, and in some cases, images of text.
Culture DC10:
Something about this young man is catching in your memory but you aren't sure what.
Culture DC20:
You are pretty sure that this young man is DJ AltReal, a somewhat prominent DJ who suddenly left the scene about four years ago.
Alias made, finishing spell selection and purchasing during a slow day at work and then I'll be post-ready!
Does anyone have a good example of a Bot Me spoiler? Never made one, want to take a look.
The goal of the Bot Me spoiler is for the GM to be able to copy paste your actions as quickly as possible. It should definitely include dice rolls for attack/damage for all your weapons. If you have a "standard pattern" (like an envoy with Get em & Clever attack for example), include that as one block.
James is ready to fly! Might tweak his skills... He has nothing useful for spaceship combat atm. I will have my chronicle info ready by the end of the day.
A middling height human enters the room and looks around. He's wearing giant headphones which you can hear blaring music at an unhealthy volume, even from this distance. The human has shoulder length brown hair. His armour is dark, but there's a neon sheen to it that suggests if you had a blacklight it would probably light up quite brightly. A heavy weapon is slung across his back, and a smaller rifle is fit snugly into a holster molded into the armour
You'd guess the human is no more than 25 or 26, and has an affable smile on his face as he looks around.
Hello. Name is James. Call me J.J. he signs to the group, looking in anticipation to see if anyone can understand him.
